I loved the first visit from Drive Tech and Eugene. Skilled and nice. However, after being ghosted by them, I'm finished. I'd love to upgrade this review, but I doubt they'll clean up their act. Eugene did a good job of getting me back online. I indicated I'd need a lot of things done and would love them to do it. Eugene told me to "just call and we'll come by to pick up your hard drive tower to back up, clean and check it out." Sounded great. Silly me, After calling multiple times leaving a message, after several emails to them -- not a darned word. Just plain old unprofessional and rude. I understand if they are overloaded and can't help at this point, but MY GOD let a customer know. Nope, not this place. I feel compelled to write a review ( I seldom do) for this business because I have received exceptional service at a very reasonable price. I went in on one of few days off to get my laptop screen replaced. The tech who assisted me was professional and knowledgeable. He originally told me the repair would likely be done by the next day. When he understood that as an ER doc and that my schedule may not allow me to come during his business hours, he spontaneously put a rush on it and called me back a few hours later to come pick up my repaired laptop. All I needed was some help with a tiny screw for the SSD enclosure inside a laptop. The smaller screwdrivers that I had just weren't cutting it - not enough leverage. The gentleman at DriveTech was so kind and helpful; he pulled out a drawer full of all types of mini-screwdrivers for exactly this kind of work and told me to just take what I needed. As many as I needed. I took two, and sure enough, it was exactly the tool I was missing to finish my job! So while I didn't necessarily go to DriveTech for their computer expertise per se, I was still very impressed by how generous they were. A+ experience! read more

My Acer chromebook would not turn on for the life of me! I tried connecting it to the charger and doing a hard reset multiple times with no luck. Through a little research, I found DriveTech Computer Repair NYC and could not be happier! I came in and explained my situation and the technician happily took my computer and told me he would call me back when he was finished with it. Well literally 5 minutes later when I got to the 86th st subway station he was calling back! My charger was just dead! Mystery solved. I can't thank him enough. He was very polite, professional and super friendly. He didn't even charge me since nothing major was wrong with it. I was thoroughly impressed with the speedy service. I was hopeful when I read the earlier reviews of this computer repair shop. I gave them my Dell XPS all-in-one to repair, as I was constantly getting 'blue screen :(' error and 'no bootable disk' messages and the thing was crashing. They took a look and said it was likely a hard drive problem. When I picked it up the first time, and $150 later, no real progress had been made. After a day or two, I was getting the same error messages and the device was crashing. I brought it back and the tech there (I believe it was 'Vasily') said he may need to change a drive and so I agreed and left it with DriveTech a second time (I need my workstation to operate properly, right?). Another $150 and my workstation is still as messed up as it was three months ago. By the way, each and every time I have used DriveTech's info@ or phoned them and left a voice mail, you never hear back. Their lack of attentiveness compels me to infer that no one monitors these calls and e mails and/or no one cares to answer them. DriveTech may have helped others and that's great, but don't jerk me around if its a problem you cannot fix, or don't have the knowledge to fix. This place is bad news. read more

I cried tears of joy a few hours ago when Vasily was able to fix my Dell XPS! My laptop died on me and I completely freaked out, fearing the worst that it was completely dead and that I wouldn't be able to retrieve anything. I walked into DriveTech and explained my situation to Vasily, who was SO nice. He said he'd take a look at it and an hour later, called to let me know that he just had to reload my motherboard and take out the battery because it was corrupt. I got my computer back in a matter of HOURS instead of DAYS, unlike most repair shops!!! I am absolutely thrilled and cannot recommend Vasily and DriveTech more highly! read more

Brought hard drive to drive tech, great owner who was very knowledgeable and nice and professional who said let's try. Later that afternoon he called to say he could retrieve all data-- $100. Vasily was very quick to diagnose and repair my Dell laptop. I dropped off the device around 11am on Sunday, received a call that afternoon with a diagnosis and plan of attack, and then another call 1-2 hours later informing me the work was done. A very quick and painless process and for far less than it would have been to purchase a brand new laptop. The best repair store ever. Reasonably priced and professional service. Water spilled on the MacBook Pro, and all it needed was a keyboard replacement. 1) They gave us back the SSD so while they were getting the new keyboard, we had access to our data and not to worry about our data integrity. 2) Also, the staff did not push for more repair to rake in extra. Our battery is bulged a bit but he said, "it's bulged a bit but it still works, so no need to replace it." Now we got back the MacBook Pro, it's working better and it seems like DriveTech staff cleaned it - just like shoe repair people give a quick shine when we ask for heel replacement. Highly recommend this place even though you may have to travel there. It's totally worth it. read more

I'm not one to write reviews, but these guys definitely deserve a thumbs up. I've been going to see the guys at Axetech for 3 years and they have always been great. These dry humored men,are a riot to work with. But most of all they get straight to the point and find out the problem of all your computer needs on the spot. There are no forms to fill and time wasted before they look at your computer; you tell them your computer's symptoms, and if they cant find the root of the problem on the spot, then they will keep your computer. So my pc was restarting due to my graphics card, which was discovered due to rigorous testing by the main worker there. They told me the graphics card was probably damaged, which seemed terrible at the time but after further inspection by myself I figured out the pcie cables were loose. Eugene has done an amazing job maintaining and improving our information resources the past three years. Installed a mesh network ,security systems,a new telephone system . I've gone to Drive Tech 3 or 4 times for different issues with laptops and they're straight up about what the problem is, whether it's worth fixing or not, and what the various options are. They've fixed several things quickly and done a great job .And I especially appreciate knowing I can trust them to give me good advice regardless of whether it benefits their business or not. Excellent service. Highly competent. My laptop inexplicably crashed last month and I found Drive Tech on Yelp. Located about a block from where I live, it could not have been more conveniently located. Dropped off the laptop the next day and within a few hours they were able to find the problem. My computer was fixed and ready the next day; and, the cost was reasonable. When I picked up my computer, the technician explained exactly the repair work done and, also, gave me usage instructions for my particular laptop to avoid this problem in the future.
