Upon suggestion of a friend and regular to NG BBQ, I had the turkey sandwich. It had 2 slices of 1/4 thick smoked turkey about the size of a slice of bread served on a huge bun with a side of large shells and cheese. Awesome smoke flavor. Place was clean and everyone very friendly. Portions are all large hungry man/woman/person size. lol.

This has not let me down in the slightest. The greens were amazing, every time I come back to Georgia I find another amazing place to enjoy BBQ. I'll be honest they were already out of brisket, so I didn't get to try that. I did come in a bit later. But the ribs, omg so good. Helen is around the corner, so that town gets a lot of traffic... just go around the corner and you will find this spot. IMO much better food and worth the few min drive. Don't get me wrong Helen is great to visit but this bbq spot is more of a Georgia staple, not an attraction. You come here for good food. Love the Carolina style sauce too!!

My wife had lunch today with a friend and brought me a brisket sandwich for dinner - my favorite from Bar-H. My wife loves the chicken halves, but you can never go wrong with the barbecue! We and our family have been loving Bar-H since it opened - so many family and church dinners with their food. Don't forget the wide dessert selection - especially the chocolate pie, hummingbird cake, and banana pudding - and tonight a new favorite, crustless coconut pie. Great people, great food, and great service! Don't come to Royston, Franklin Springs, or Emmanuel without treating yourself to Bar-H!

The turkey platter was delicious, I loved the collards and the Mac and cheese - in my opinion - was pretty great. The portion was healthy, included a drink and for $16 to end up with leftovers besides is right up my alley. My mom got the bbq salad with chopped chicken and was thrilled with both the portion and quality. $10 and she only got through half of it! Nice service, great prices and at least the meats we had - and understanding the poultry is a different thing than your pork or beefy bits - were delicious.

Unfortunately, the well-decorated exterior didn't quite match the interior or the overall experience. From a cashier who argued that sides didn't come with our meals (despite both the printed menus and the wall menu clearly stating otherwise), to sandwiches being delivered without the cheese they were supposed to come with, hot food that was served cold, and chicken tenders and fries that tasted like they came straight from the freezer, the experience was disappointing. We could actually see what appeared to be a giant bag of frozen food sitting on the counter in the kitchen, which didn't exactly help that impression. Overall, North Georgia BBQ left much to be desired. While the food wasn't necessarily bad, it certainly wasn't great either. If you're looking for a quick bite and aren't particularly discerning, this may be a fine spot for you. However, if you're hoping for an authentic Georgia BBQ experience with great food and attention to detail, I'd consider looking elsewhere. The silver lining however is that the location and exterior are awesome and with a little attention to details and service this could be a great spot.

They are tangy in taste and the "hot" is not at all overpowering.
