I literally work just a few hundred yards from this store, so I go in probably once a month on…read moreaverage for lunch. I went in today a larger than normal crowd, saw a deal on the app that looked good, so I online ordered standing in the restaurant. Either way, a customer ahead of me was having a tough time and was frustrated with the staff at the counter. Anyhow, when it was my turn I just let them know I was there instead of drive-thru as app was directing me, and waited. Pretty soon, a lady on staff (whose nametag I believe started with "J" but never saw the whole name) came up (I assume she was a manager) and looked at my order - it got sent to wrong store - I thought I selected correctly but could have been operator error. Anyhow, she nicely and patiently pointed that out and admitted the app had been giving problems - anyway, I just said "well, this is just too much aggravation" and left the store. I stopped on the sidewalk in front and checked my phone again to try and figure out what had gone wrong, and called the store that got the order in error to get refunded. Next thing I know this manager is beside me, asking if "I got the app to work." I told her that I hadn't figured it out yet but it wasn't her fault (which it wasn't). So she said if I did, she'd basically double my original deal I was trying to get. So long story short, I did, and she did, and the deal was for the new spicy southern shrimp and they were EXCELLENT - as good as I've had in some better restaurants even. And the rest of my order was good (as it has been usually at this location). I wanted to write this even before I read the (unfortunate) poor reviews here - as I say - I've been coming in here for about 1 year without any issues, but even if there have been for others, Manager "J" showed the type of customer concern and leadership that Zaxby should require from all staff. If there have been issues at this location, if "J" continues in this fashion, they won't last long. I also discovered once I was outside the big crowd was due to a tour bus group. So "J" took the time to make sure I was satisfied despite having a big rush. Again, this is a level of customer service that will continue to serve her and Zaxby's well. And try the shrimp, they're great!

According to other Yelpers this may be the best Captain D's on the planet. The interior is not fast food bright so that's a winner. There are a couple people working the counter and monitoring the dining room for cleanliness. Also a winner. I ordered the fish and shrimp six dollar special, paid, and was handed a beeper. I found a table and waited a few minutes for the beeping, then went to the counter to get my food. The presentation was nice in a compartment plate. Also picked up some catsup packs. I received one long thick piece of fish, four shrimp, two hushpuppies, and fries. This was a good portion for a meal and a great portion for the price. The fish was hot, juicy, and tasted good. It is a mild white fish. The shrimp were shrimpy and the batter spicy. Fresh from the fryer.Another good one. Hushpuppies were the right size and corny, crunchy, and hot. The fries were a little bit of a let down as they were soft. They tasted ok. If the fries were better we would be in five star land. I'd go back and try some other things, I think it could be worth it.

Despite a low number of cars in the parking lot, we were greeted by a server who was helpful. Once we ordered, we got a beeper device, but didn't have long to wait for our order. I got salmon, green beans, and broccoli, as I am working on weight loss at the moment, while he got a fried fish and shrimp combo with fries and okra. Both orders were delicious. This location looks very attractive inside and outside, unlike the ones in my area, and it is convenient, with plenty of parking. The only downside is the price of the fountain drinks, and with the inflation that all businesses must manage, all I can say is that Captain D's has decided to push up the price there more than with the food. Our ticket was well over $30, but we'd eat there again, no doubt.
