I said I would write a review of Captain D's so here we are. This location is in the Walmart parking lot in Cornelia. According to other Yelpers this may be the best Captain D's on the planet. The interior is not fast food bright so that's a winner. There are a couple people working the counter and monitoring the dining room for cleanliness. Also a winner. I ordered the fish and shrimp six dollar special, paid, and was handed a beeper. I found a table and waited a few minutes for the beeping, then went to the counter to get my food. The presentation was nice in a compartment plate. Also picked up some catsup packs. I received one long thick piece of fish, four shrimp, two hushpuppies, and fries. This was a good portion for a meal and a great portion for the price. The fish was hot, juicy, and tasted good. It is a mild white fish. The shrimp were shrimpy and the batter spicy. Fresh from the fryer.Another good one. Hushpuppies were the right size and corny, crunchy, and hot. The fries were a little bit of a let down as they were soft. They tasted ok. If the fries were better we would be in five star land. I'd go back and try some other things, I think it could be worth it. read more

A friend recommended this Captain D's, as the ones in our area are somewhat lacking. Hubby and I went thrifting in Clarksville and stopped by the Cornelia location, based on those informal reviews. This restaurant is located in front of a Walmart. Despite a low number of cars in the parking lot, we were greeted by a server who was helpful. Once we ordered, we got a beeper device, but didn't have long to wait for our order. I got salmon, green beans, and broccoli, as I am working on weight loss at the moment, while he got a fried fish and shrimp combo with fries and okra. Both orders were delicious. This location looks very attractive inside and outside, unlike the ones in my area, and it is convenient, with plenty of parking. The only downside is the price of the fountain drinks, and with the inflation that all businesses must manage, all I can say is that Captain D's has decided to push up the price there more than with the food. Our ticket was well over $30, but we'd eat there again, no doubt. read more

This has got to be one of the best Captain D's I've been to in a really long time. I grew up eating Captain D's. One of my family's favorite. So glad you stopped by this location. We used the drive thru and service was great. We got exactly what we ordered in timely manner. Generous and fresh portions. It tasted like it just came off the fry which I really appreciated. My go to is the Deluxe Seafood Platter and honestly, this location made it so well. Even the fries were solid. Fried fish, shrimp, seafood stuffed crab shells, and hush puppies were on point. Loved the quality and size of the fish, shrimp, and seafood stuffed crab shells. I got mine with the coleslaw and it was solid. I love me a good cole slaw. Also, appreciated how we received two tarter sauces and two cocktail sauces. I'm a sauce girl. I really wish I took a photo of my takeout order of the Deluxe Seafood Platter. It was seriously a great order. I highly recommend this Captain D's location (358201) in Cornelia! I will definitely be coming back here when I'm in the area. Heck, I may even make the trek just to come again to this Captain D's location. read more

We looked up the reviews for this Capt D's and saw 4.5 stars so felt great trying it and we weren't disappointed at all!! The restaurant was so clean and the workers very nice and professional. Food was fresh and cooked perfectly. The bathrooms were spotless. This was such a difference from other Capt D's. I had pretty much stopped eating at Captain Ds due to the poor quality of the food and service. On a whim, when we were feeling lucky, we decided to give the Cornelia location a try and it was such a good choice! We have been back several times since that time. I came on a busy Sunday afternoon for lunch. We got our food a few minutes after ordering and everything was correct. I got the Salmon with three sides of broccoli instead of rice. It was a great healthy meal that I thoroughly enjoyed. I would definitely recommend this place if you want seafood for a good price and fast service. read more

My wife, daughter, and I decided to grab dinner following an event at our VFW Post. I happened to be in my honor guard uniform. Ordered, paid, and we were simply waiting for the food while chatting in the car. The cashier then hands me my money back. I thought they were going to tell me they ran out of food. Then two more employees came to the window and they thanked me for my service and said the meals were on them. What a crew, and what an unexpected gesture. Brought my wife to tears. I Love Captain D's & am thrilled to dine here along my travels or nearby when visiting. They've been making hand battered white fish since 1969 which is not greasy compared to other restaurants offering similar fried foods. Their big fish sandwich is exactly that & can't be beat! Plus, for those with more health conscious appetites there's a great grilled menu & light lemonade or unsweetened tea. Without a restaurant anywhere close to my hometown & a normally healthy diet, my choice is fried fish with extra cracklings! The surf-side atmosphere is enlightening creating a relaxing atmosphere, reminiscent of a seaside cafe, with bright umbrellas & outside seating available for those nice sunny days. They offer yummy kids meals, with high chairs & changing tables, making it very family friendly too. Since it is a type of fast food cafe please pick-up after yourself & drop-off eco-friendly dinnerware before leaving. Their staff will finish cleaning up as they maintain a clean & well stocked restaurant. I noticed they are looking to hire help; hopefully, they'll bring in some more friendly & pleasant staff (w/more customer training for 5 stars). It's always nice to be greeted with good, courteous, southern pleasantries, especially in today's fast paced environment (free WiFi is available).
