Worse BBQ Restaurant ever

This place was not even a one star. I ordered the Chopped Pork Platter with Sides. Both sides were tasteless. Seemed Store bought. Not homemade Potato Salad. The Coleslaw no taste. But the worst was the pulled Chopped Pork. Didn't taste smoked, no spices and no flavor. Only one BBQ sauce to choose from and it was watered down. While eating a employee was hacking up a lung and crying they were sick. The place was dark and cold. It was a waste of money and appetite. Do better. All these awards for best BBQ and it sucked. Gordon Ramsey would be pissed

As I've said before, its a good restaurant... even though its billed as a BBQ joint. In fact, the best meals I've had there were the non BBQ offerings. Its a local staple, we enjoy it. Not so crazy suggestion... get the chicken fingers. They are really good.

BBQ has always been a subject that stirs controversy so it makes no sense in making any claims because someone will always top you on any given day. Mickey does a nice job - in my opinion the meats were well prepared and throughly smoked and for me those are the first qualities I look for, my second criteria is that they don't smother the meats with their sauce (unfortunately Mickey does top their meats with their sauce). I requested the sauce on the side being I hadn't tried their sauces before and didn't want to ruin thirty dollars worth of meat in the event I didn't like their sauce, unfortunately everything we ordered came painted with sauce ( I didn't mention the mistake since I didn't want to spend anymore time here than I had already spent). I tried the chicken, baby back ribs and brisket - the chicken was fully smoked and retained its moisture which was impressive, the ribs throughly smoked but a little tough and on the dry side tasty but not as tender as I would of expected, I really liked the brisket after wiping the sauce off - it was moist with a great fat to lean ratio and tender perfectly sliced a real winner between two buns. I also tried the finely shredded slaw (it's legit), but I wasn't a fan of the thick cut steak fries, they came out cold - just a little too much potato for me. There were two sauces on the table one original and one hot - honestly I'm not a fan of the sauces, but I'm not ready a fan of any sauce and I feel offended when a business assumes everyone will love their sauces. I'm much more about the seasoning and the smokey flavors and really felt cheated out of the opportunity to judge the meats on their on merit without the sauce. The service was exceptional as was the iced tea - I would try them again without the sauce and fries... it was okay but fell short of a home run.

BBQ Sampler Plate with mashed potatoes, green beans, & fried okra

Nice staff & good, affordable food. The only item we didn't enjoy was the mac & cheese so I would advise you don't order it. The bbq sampler is such a great deal with a variety of meats.

A nice restaurant with friendly staff. I had the combo plate with chkn, pork, and riblet. The plate looks good, but I found the riblet, odd looking and to dry to eat. The chkn and pork was dry too, I had to down thru in the BBQ sauce. Brunswick stew was good.

Beautiful and delicious!

It was an enjoyable experience. Food was a bit pricey for the quality, but our Server was very attentive and went above and beyond for us.

This place has the best Brunswick Stew around. Highly recommend them and their Blue Cheese burger. My wife loves their wings.

They won't even cook your burger anything below medium. So that's a turn off Bc I eat mine rare.

We were picking up my truck from the Ram dealer around lunchtime so said "hey let's go get some BBQ, it's right down the road". The exterior has a modern and tidy barn door look and there is plenty of parking. We walked in and it was nice and cool (great on a summer day) and looked to the left to see the cafeteria line. Hey this looks odd for a BBQ restaurant buts lets check it out. Then we see in the line that there neither stew nor que, it's southern meat and two. OK, well we are here let's give it a go. I had chicken tenders which looked hand breaded. They had good texture but could use some spices. The mashed potatoes were hood with some good gravy. The lima beans were too salty to eat. Megan liked her chicken fried steak. I am not sure it was breaded house. She also had the mashed potatoes. Megan liked the green beans. The corn bread was kinda dry and crumbly with no sweetness. I think some people like it this way. The biscuit was good. I am not a super fan of the meat and three so this was just OK. I would likely stop here for a breakfast biscuit if I am in the area in the morning.
