Looking at arts & craft items for children who will be joining us for the holidays. I like to have things on hand to keep them busy and hopefully happy. I found some cute little ceramic paint kits that I think they will love! I also purchased a kit with water colors, multi-colored markers and crayons, and added some construction paper. Maybe we'll make construction paper chains to decorate. I got everything I needed in one stop. Besides lots of holiday items they also have a party item area and balloons too. The line was long with two registers open plus two self-check out kiosks. Plenty of parking in front. Doors are automatic sliders for easy in and out. read more

I'm not really crafty, but at times I have ideas and I come here to get what I need to execute said project. Michaels has a coupon everyday on their website you can use in person (an employee told me this, she is the goat), and that will save you some money. The place usually is very clean, and the prices are affordable. My only complaint is the selection they used to have compared to what they have now is changed. It's more or less just random things in the middle of the isles very things that really matter or are crafty. But otherwise nice parking lot, and nice employees. read more

A solid Michaels! This one is monderinized a bit with self checkout, so the lines did move quite quickly. My main issue is that we went in the first day of October and they had nearly no Fall/Halloween stuff. Everything was starting to be taken over by Christmas decor. I love Christmas decor, but if it's 10/1, I'm definitely still looking for Halloween and Fall decor, not Christmas. Prices are what you'd expect and I feel like you really never want to pay full price here. Making sure the item is on sale is the way to go! Even though it is self-checkout there were still plenty of employees around to help if you needed it. read more

I really like the store. They have a lot of stuff in the store and it is actually easy to find it online for me. But I love the fact that you can order it online and go to come in the store. Fall and Halloween items are 60% off and they already have Christmas trees on sale. The staff are not overly friendly and I asked for a request if what I had ordered online with the same as what I saw in the store. That seemed to be a problem. While I was there was a woman in line who scooted around the line to the front as she could not fit her wheelchair through the displays The cashier called someone in the back immediate and instead of saying that he would be right up to rectify it here instead asked her questions about it. Odd. I think it's interesting if you have a Michaels coupon you will struggle to go into the store and find a regular price item. Pretty much everything is on sale all the time. It's Saturday morning I was just in Michael's, only a few people in the front of the store. I asked an employee if they could help me find two things, they told me the point to where they are but don't expect them to go show me where the item is. I along with three other customers walked out. Beyond rude I'm calling corporate Monday morning. Out in the parking lot I started a conversation with the other customers who walked out. I cintinue to Shopp at Michaels because I love art! However, after giving up on my educators discount card a couple years back; as they could never locate it in the, system. Lately, items marked at a discointed price DO NOT ring up as such. Usually, after pointing it out, they honor the price which is the legal and correct thing to do.....until today that is. The sign , or signs, posted throughout the store advertised clearly yet the kind young people at the register had no idea what to do, it was obvious they had not been trained correctly,if at all. After ten minutes and a call to the manager or lead cashier or Manager , I was told, " It is not on ALL the Artist Loft paint". I can read pretty well and if I misread one sign I had five more chances as tjete were at least 5 Signs!? I left, I felt badly for the young workers but I fel confused! read more

A nice arts & craft store that has a good selection of different materials and items. Beads, baskets, books, different kits and projects, tons of fake flowers and a discounted area out in front can be found here. Even some candy and junk food by the registers. My wife went to several different craft type stores looking for artificial stain glass window materials without success and finally found a wide collection at Michael's. We then picked up a wide range of other craft and art supplies and everything was reasonably priced. The only negative was that the staff didn't seem especially knowledgeable in all areas, but considering the wide variety of items that really isn't too surprising. read more

Used to wait forever because there wasn't enough cashiers, now that they have self checkout (they take credit cards ONLY on these) they only have one cash lane open. Michaels cancelled an order of my and shipped only a wire that I had no use for without the wreath frame. They then wouldn't post my negative review. I called customer service who did nothing for me. Told me to then spend more money and return the wire. Lousy company to due business with. I am in quarantine because my daughter who is nurse is fighting there virus. This Michaels has been here as long as I can remember and I've been in a few times. They're pretty basic, they have all your usual craft supplies,cake decorating,t-shirt kits etc..and some random stuff scattered around like holiday stuff,dvds,gift cards and accessories to name a few. The store isn't too big but definitely not small. I like shopping here though it's fun to see all they have to offer and the prices are do able. Love this store! I do a lot of cardmaking and their selection of paper is tremendous. Even though technically I don't NEED any more paper, I just can't resist - how do you pass up the deals they have? I recently got 3 12"x12" pads, each with 48 sheets of beautiful paper for $20 (buy 1, get 2 free). At that price they're practically giving the stuff away. This location is not my favorite (I have been to MANY Michael's stores), so I wish they would renovate! However, nothing beats the prices here compared to the craft stores in the areas. This is my crafting hook up for the kent county area! The only downside, no fabric selection. But don't look too far, because Joann's is right next door and they have all your sewing needs. There is almost *always* some sort of coupon to use here. I especially like the Michael's application for the phone with instant coupons on my phone, so I don't have to carry around scraps of paper, and possibly lose them! read more

I've noticed over the years that craft stores have less and less raw materials and more and more readymade crafts. This store is no exception. This place boasts a large section of charms, fake flowers, and pre-constructed doodads. I come here to pick up paint, paper, and x-acto blades. Michales is my preferred store for these items because you can always find an in store coupon online, making it a really great deal. read more

Yes they have a ton of crafts which I appreciate. Prices are good as they do have a great deal of competition on Bald Hill Rd. My biggest issue was that fact that the customer service was AWFUL. I asked someone in the framing department if they had a specific premade size I was looking for at which point I was told she does customized framing.....well sorry to bother you. I left without the 3 frames that I needed but did grab so last minute valentine's. Not my first stop but I will be back. read more

Boy is their customer service great. I was in the middle of one of the worst #2's of my life. To make it worse, I had no tp. But when I called that front desk, they did not hesitate to assist me. My boy came walking through the door saying "Special Delivery". And this wasn't no toilet roll. It was a full size industrial roll. This man knew what was going on. Nice store for nearly all your craft needs at lower prices than Joann's. There could be more staff at this location to help you find what you are looking for. Unfortunately, this location is lacking a fabric department or any craft supplies related to fabric crafts. They do have a framing department here. read more

I had an awful customer service experience at the Warwick location today, with not just 1 but 4 employees! Even though I live nearby, next time I need to make a trip to Michael's I will go out of my way to visit another location because the employees here were so unhelpful and RUDE. As someone who has worked in various customer service positions I find this very unacceptable and think perhaps some training should be done with their employees because my experience was so bad it made me not want to return to that store ever again. read more

The selection at this craft store is just ok. Whenever I enter I always question whether the store is going out of business because it seems as though large sections and shelves are inexplicably empty. Though they offer coupons to those who subscribe to their news letters, the prices are so outrageous that I still end up walking away empty handed. 300 dollars for a framing job at 55% off? I can't even imagine someone paying at sale price let alone stand alone. Online shopping is troublesome as well, forcing you to buy items in packs of four (even on expensive frames and decor). I was very dissapointed with my trip to this paticular store. I have worked in customer service and retail, and do not think I ask very much when it comes to a "shopping experience." 1. No one said hello, or offered any help: The section I was looking for was in a back corner and I wandered around looking for it. I would much rather have gotten the simple materials-simply. I then stood there trying to figure out why the numbers and colors on my pattern didn't match. (Is there a new color series? Could I find what I was looking for under a different number now? No chance to ask anyone...) 2. Not very polite: two employees were in the back, near my materials. They were discussing pizza. Since all I had was a handful of embroidery thread and some questions I asked if I could check out at the register back there in the framing area. (They obviously were not busy!) I was told "No, the registers are up front " in a bit of a tone and the employee waved in that direction while she said it. Either stop talking about pizza or at least say something like "oh I'm sorry we can't use this register for anything but framing orders." I don't care if you're chatting at work, but I do when you can't at least pause to help me. 3. Prices: I also don't mind spending a little bit more when the service is great. For the most part it was crap. I decided to not even ask about the things I was curious about and could not find. On the way out I saw a similar item to one of the things I wanted, only 1/2 to 1/3 the size I need. For $25... I saw a nicer looking version at Target the day before for around $10. The girl at the register was very nice. So there's that at least. From now on if I am forced to go to a Michaels Crafts store I will stick to the one in Seekonk. read more
