We brought in several old family paintings to be re- framed. The young gentleman behind the counter was very helpful in choosing a proper frame for each one. I went for the so-called "custom framing" service. Merriam Webster's defines "custom" as "made or performed according to personal order." The framing service does nothing whatsoever that falls within that definition. The only thing they will do is sell you a stock frame and put your picture in it, not a thing more. That definitely IS NOT custom framing. All I asked was to have a backing placed on this frame and to have it secured to hold the picture in place. The store's policy is that they won't do that at all, even if you are willing to pay for it. I even spoke with the manager. Don't claim to offer a service when you don't offer the service at all. Not a bad Michaels, especially since it's slightly closer to me than the others. Plenty of parking and they do roll out their holiday items pretty early, but because of that, they also clear them and move onto the next holiday pretty early too. In my cosplay heyday (and hopefully triumphant return), I have never had any issues with getting any arts and crafts stock here ranging from fake flowers, hot glue gun refills, Gesso, Mod Podge, puffy paint, spray paint, etc. Black Friday Michael's shopping is really fun here too. There are sometimes a wait, but it's never been egregiously bad. They also have their own store Wi-Fi too so if things get spotty, no worries because you can still get to your discount coupons! read more

I was tired when I arrived at Michael's and that was my mistake. However, I needed help locating an item and there was no one around. I walked up and down the aisle with no one to ask for help. Finally I went to the front register and again no one around. To my delight a person arrived and informed me where to look. When I went to check out, the people at the registers were checking themselves out. However, there was one person helping and she was the same one who helped me earlier. I couldn't figure out the dam register and I left all of my items and walked out. After all the searching I did just to locate an item. Like I said I did show up tired. I went in today, Saturday 12/6/25 at 1 pm to have 3 small balloons filled. Would have taken less than 5 minutes. The woman working on balloons said " I am working on a large balloon order and you have to wait an hour". I politely asked " Can you please fill these, its only 3 small balloons, it wont take longer than 3 minutes". I was told no, id have to wait an hour. I feel this is poor customer service. 2 women were working on the balloon area. I fully understand they had a large order from another customer but taking less than 5 minutes to serve a customer with a very simple request isnt a difficult response. It would have taken 5 minutes or less. Definitely disappointing if you are in a hurry for a simple request. read more

We made an appointment with the framing department to have our anniversary photo printed and framed. When my husband and I got there, the framing manager was not in and neither was the store manager. A store associate tried to help but seemed very unsure and not very knowledgeable of what or how to print a photo. My husband and I were very frustrated and asked when the framing manager would be in to speak to them directly. We were then told that the framing manager was out on medical leave. read more

Love visiting my local Michael's! I recently put in an online order for chunky blanket yarn and was able to pick up first thing in the AM on the next day! They always have great deals like BOGO 50% off or just a whole ton of coupons that you can apply to all or part of your order. They were having a HUGE clearance sale when I went a few days ago (beginning of Jan 2022) so it looks like they're clearing out the old to make space for new inventory. A lot of good stuff on sale. Check them out, you won't be disappointed. And if what you're looking for is out of stock, you can check other nearby stores or have them ship it to you. Like all Michael's, this one is no doubt another good location to get your craft items. There is staff around, but unless you ask a question, they won't approach you and will keep stocking their shelves. The only helpful person during my visit was the blonde cashier girl, she helped me with my 20% coupon redemption (and I highly recommend that you download their app to get their coupons!). They have a good stock of everything around the store, but will depend on what you're looking for. Prices are slightly higher here, but they will likely have inventory of what you need. In particular, their baking crafts section had what I needed for a baking project. Also, checked out their jewelry section and they had a good number of items. This location is in a large Plaza, and parking is not a problem here...tons! Good location and worth the visit if you need few items. read more

I used to shop at Michael's, Walnut branch quite a bit when I started making Organic/Natural Scented Soaps right in the beginning of the Pandemic as 1 of the new hobbies I picked up because I found out they sold soap base here!!!! This place was conveniently located alongside In-n'-Out so super easy to locate. It was used to be right next to 'Bed, Bath, and Beyond,' but sadly, that next door biz did not survive the Pandemic. I was capable of finding lots of ingredients for soap making at this Michael's~so I was pleasantly surprised they even carried these items from pics shared below for soap making if I didn't want to wait for an Amazon shipment. They sold: soap liquid dye, fragrance bottles, packaging supplies, and soap base! I may have to stop by here again soon. read more

This Michaels seems to be mostly empty every time I visit. I hope it's not going anywhere soon. The store is big but inventory seems to be less than other stores. Came here for some canvases for a new hobby on Sun (07/31) @ around 5:15PM, but the ones I wanted were all the way on the top shelf. With that being said, a VERY helpful employee (did not catch her name, but she was a super kind lady with glasses) helped me out and tried to get the canvases with a ladder for me. It was way too high so she called 2 other employees (one was apparently the tallest man in the store on shift who eventually got me the product) to help me out and it was honestly such a kind gesture, and she was SO nice about it! I went to walnut Michael store yesterday, when I noticed a big sign 60%off for all Christmas floral , I decided to buy some, I waited patiently in the long line , realized there are only two cashiers, the Asian cashier man ignored the long lines ( another long line waiting outside as well ) and keep talking on the phone , I suggested to another staff on the floor to open up another register, he refused. After 35 min long wait, I'm approached to the Asian cashier, he was on the phone again, after he finally finished, he told me to waited, he needs talked to another cashier...when he came back, he told me my Christmas flower isn't 60% off, I show him a picture to proof it ( see attached picture) he refused to accept it and call for the manager...again I have to waited for the manager verify..by now I already waited over an hour.. The manager isn't doing her job, she should open up more registers, and have her staff to serve line before answer any calls, especially when there are long lines inside and outside... Overpaid for item walked back into store, was asked to go back to car, bring item back, then was told would not honor their clearance item price. Great place to shop for random things that you think you might need, especially for home decor. This one is in a plaza with BevMo and Kohl's if you want to look at other things too. They've got lots of fake plants and candles if you want to make your place look a little more lively. They also have lots of cheap $1 sections for miscellaneous items that you might suddenly feel like you need. With covid coming nearer to the end, more people are coming back. Normally, I always bring my phone to download the 20% off coupon just like most people probably do. Every now and then though, I forget my phone. Sometimes the cashier will find a way to honor the discount and other times they say, "sorry, it's policy that we can't," which is ridiculous. If I were the type to throw a temper tantrum, they would find a way to give the discount. And so, I don't buy the whole "policy" excuse. It is disappointing that Michaels cannot even follow a basic Customer Service 101 strategy by allowing for a simple accommodation (i.e. giving a customer a 20% of discount when she forgets her phone) to a customer whose probably spent thousands of of dollars at the business over the last couple of years. It's not like I'm asking for a free car...or even to get my items for free. All I'm asking for is the 20% discount that I could have normally got for my items that are already overpriced anyway. Michaels - If you wish to retain your customer base, I would suggest adding a bit more flexibility in your "policies" otherwise I will find another business to give my money to. read more

Don't get me wrong. I love Michael's. I love everything they carry. You can make your own ... anything!! This store is fantastically stocked and cleanliness is not the issue. My issue is with the service: rude, demeaning, I left feeling angry and confused. Did they really say all those things? (Yes, they did.) 1: When we all entered the store it was 8:50PM, Saturday April 3rd, fulling knowing that they would be closing in 10 minutes. We would be in and out, this was our goal. One of the girls approached us while we were mid-store and said "We're closed." I said "umm can we buy this (had stuff in my hands)?" She's like "Yea you can buy it but we're closed." Shrugging it off whatever. Then I hear her tell another lady "We're closing in 10 minutes". Wait... what? 2: Here's the story. We were helping out a newly wed. We had Michael's 50% off coupons for ONE item (per person) and a couple people to buy packets of wedding invites. They're like $9.99. We saved like $5 each. The girl sneered at us, at the register and said "Wow, you brought all your friends", seeing that we all had coupons. Wait. Did she just say that to us? Look man, weddings are expensive and its not our fault that Michaels sends out Coupons - isn't that the point to get people through the store? It's not like we didn't buy other ribbon items (without the discount). Or maybe she's just is bitter cuz she's not the one getting married (HA!). 3: We were outside the door at 9:00 right when they started to lock down the doors. I peered in to check on my bf cuz he was still paying and I was wondering what the hold up was. Another older lady yelled out, "We're closed!" And I said, yes, I know, I already bought my stuff I'm just checking if my bf is done yet. Then she says "You have to step back from the doors." Then, a guy tries to get in the store to buy something and she sends him off saying he can't buy one thing quickly (fully understandable, they're closed) and then after he leaves, she reprimands me in the worst tone "See what I mean." Seriously, I am never setting foot in this store coupon or not. The customer service is alone enough to deter me from coming back. Some people take their jobs way too seriously. You're really gonna get mad at us for saving like $5 each? read more

Seemed like a well-run establishment. I was only inside for 5 minutes, picking up a gift card for my cousin for the Holidays, but the store was clean and bright, and the cashier was helpful and get me on my way quickly. Also, apparently they have free wifi. There aren't any tables to sit down and use it, but if you want to hop into Michaels and, y'know, check your stocks or whatever, you can boot up a phone app. I like the notion, but it seems like overkill at a place where people don't really stop and hang out. But hey, I don't know what data plan you have, so good on you, Michaels for going above and beyond. Tons of parking, all the arts and crafts you can imagine. No complaints. read more

Not too bad a Michaels, though I usually dread going in to a Michaels. This one was better than most, but of course it wasn't a weekend, its usually worse then. The gal at the counter helped me locate the coupon online and saved me 14.00 bucks on a heck expensive package of colored pencils for my artist daughter, so that was much appreciated. The usually have something on sale, it is best to check their weekly ad and sign up online so you can get the coupons on your phone. Today they had 40% off fake flowers, and buy one get one 50% off on the portfolios. Frames were on sale too, and canvas. read more

I came here to see if they had printable business cards for our company to use without using a print service. I had three people help me out. They both helped me look, and the manager went to the back to check the inventory as well. They didn't carry it, which was okay. Even though by now, I had gone to two places that did not carry printable business cards, I was relieved to receive good service. Framing Fun. Went in with a piece that needs to be framed. The personal working at the framing department was already helping another customer. So I waited. After it was my turn, the guy was helpful and patient. Currently was a special sale for custom framing. It was save 60% on select frames and then an additional 10%. The person was nice enough to pull a few off the wall for me do do comparison and even put the framing preview on the computer to show me what it will look like. After 10 minutes of switching and thinking, I was able to choose one I like. My artpiece was considered large and I got the mid-base price frame. Total plus tax was $207.00. After leaving the store, I was happy and now eager to hear from them so i can go pick up the finish masterpiece. read more

I come here when I need art supplies but I do have to say that their selection in markers/pens have basically dissolved into nothing. I come here because it is convenient but other than that, the service here sometimes is quite inconsistent and slow. There are $1ish deals at the front of the store near the cash register, which has some great deals here and there. Their scrapbooking department seems to continue to grow while the drawing section continues to shrink. Their frame section is still quite nice and not too expensive. If i need frames for a project or so, I always come to Michaels. read more
