To: Hobby Lobby - West Covina Store No. 595 I am submitting this complaint regarding the unprofessional and rude behavior of an employee named Maximiliano during checkout at your West Covina location on 12/30/2025 at approximately 9:30 a.m. While paying, we attempted to explain that another employee had directed us to an end cap of New Year's decorations that was clearly labeled 40% off. Maximiliano repeatedly interrupted us, spoke over us, and refused to listen as we explained that we were misled by the signage and employee direction. Although he stated that yellow price tags indicated clearance and did not qualify for the discount, the issue was not the pricing. A manager later apologized for the misinformation regarding the signage, but my concern was Maximiliano's condescending tone, dismissive facial expressions, and lack of respect throughout the interaction. Despite other customers being present, he continued to display a poor attitude and showed no effort to listen or de-escalate the situation. As a customer-facing employee, professionalism, respect, and attentive listening should be standard. This interaction did not meet those expectations and left a very negative impression. I am extremely dissatisfied with this experience and hope this matter is addressed appropriately. read more

Recently, the customer service at the register has been getting worse. Today I was helped by a younger girl with glasses. I didn't get her name but on my receipt it says Amy S. Such terrible service. When we approached the cash register, not only did she ignore us for a good 10 seconds to continue to chit chat with her co worker, but she didn't greet or acknowledge us even after I said hello first. Then when she was done ringing up my two items, she handed my receipt without saying a word. The girl she was gossiping with appeared to be a supervisor greeting guests, I could be wrong but if that is her supervisor, she is a terrible example. read more

Spent an easy hour in this Lobby shop just taking it all in! Need items for arts n crafts? Are you a hobbyist? Do you have an empty space in your home that's screaming for decor? COME ON IN! The prices are great, there's things to look at and touch and feel! Candles, cookware, random gadgets. Great place to kill time and look around. First of all, I rode 15 mins on my scooter to get there after arriving there were no bike racks or anything so the guy who was way to loud and didn't know anything told me to just "leave it in the front"!! After searching the horribly lit store I found my stuff and went to check out and when I went to pay they don't take tap to pay!!!!! So then I had to go back home with nothing to show for it. For this being a Christian establishment you really should have your employees be more happy to help and have better customer service as in greeting when they see a customer instead of ignoring you as if your not good enough to say a simple hello when getting to the register. I came here to look for random stuff for my upcoming wedding. They actually have a reasonable amount of stuff to look at and his location is fairly big IMO. Prices are okay, not super pricey but not cheap either. They definitely has some cool items and enjoy coming here just to take a look around. read more

Ever since my first visit to a Hobby Lobby in the high desert, I've been fascinated with this fun store. So many intrinsic fun arts and crafts plus so much more. I can spend a whole day at a Hobby Lobby and not be bored. I may just do that one day LOL. Do you want to meet me there? Anyway, my dear friend's niece just recently got married and had a birthday. I wanted to get her a little something to help her celebrate both exciting occasions. I knew what I wanted to get theme-wise, but just didn't know what was available. I had to peruse around the whole store to find it. And I did find them... perfect pair of mugs with hubby and wifey inscribed on them, respectively, and a nice picture frame as wedding gift. Also got a cute pillow and a pink stuff animal as birthday present. Hobby Lobby came through with the perfect gifts. I knew it would. Staff was nice and pleasant. Quite a team who works together efficiently. Prices are very reasonable. Love the discounts off! Keep them coming... Will I be back? Of course I will be back to stroll around the store even more and reminisce on the lovely romantic insightful words inscribed on their crafts. Thank you Hobby Lobby for your presence! read more

I had a genuinely terrible experience at Hobby Lobby. The employees were incredibly rude and completely uninterested in helping customers. Multiple staff members were standing around laughing, joking, and having personal conversations while customers were clearly waiting for assistance. When I approached to check out I was met with a disgusted, dismissive facial expression before the employee walked away to continue socializing with coworkers and then later on came to me to ring me up! This isn't just an employee issue this reflects extremely poor management and a lack of professionalism throughout the store. Customers should not feel ignored or treated like an inconvenience. It's honestly disappointing that there aren't better alternative craft store options nearby, because based on this experience, I would strongly prefer to shop elsewhere. read more

Came in to make a return from a different store. Item was unused and I had my receipt. The store manager was rude and kept asking what was wrong and why I was returning the item the interaction was cold and rude like I stole the item even though I had proof of purchase. I asked if I was able to get cash back she said the amount was too high which is fine but she just was very short and unpleasant. Made me never wanna come shop here again. My husband also said they acted like we had stole the item. Manager needs training on customer service. read more

This location is awful, at midday you'd expect them to have more cashiers.. 2 are running and 1 is taking 1 customer at a time.. but the lines are +25 minutes,and there's is 2+ workers literally just watching lines..? Make it make sense. Walking around the store there is no assistance. Can't find what you need? Good luck walking around for the next 50 minutes looking for 1 item. I waited 15 minutes and ended up just putting everything down and leaving. The workers were rude at the front of the lines. Not returning here. This place looks great. Clean and organized. I just wish they'd figure out the checkout system. Michael was not managing the situation and can't for the life of me figure out why as a cashier you wouldn't take two seconds to figure out who is the next in line and take them. We waited 15 minutes in line on a Friday not when it wasn't busy to get out of here. I wish the manager would have helped the gentleman struggling for 10 minutes with a return and that the cashier the manager called up to help had the sense to take the next person in line. I am beyond dissatisfied with the check out! First I have to drive 2 miles to get into the crowded parking lot which never seem to have any spaces, this is right next to a Target!!! The store is always crowded, and all I needed was a crochet hook. Standing in line for 1/2 hour because there are only 2 check out people and 5 people deep the check out person is acting like a 95 year old lady who doesn't seem to care if you stand there for the rest of your life! The managers up front as loud as they can be, are no help either, my check stand is closed go to 6 or 3, 5 people deep with their carts full!!!45 minutes!! Just to get a crochet hook! This place is HUGE! This is a bigger version of Joann's and Michael's with a hint of Homegoods. I got a few arts and craft items for girls gifts. They had tons of discounts and good deals during xmas week. Lots of xmas items were discounted and the toys had up to 35% OFF. This is located in the Eastland Center next to Target and Dick's (facing Workman Ave). lots of parking but the parking lot can be hectic. FYI, Hobby Lobby is closed on Sundays. read more

Went to the store in West Covina , ca. today at 1:00pm in the afternoon. Waited in a long line to purchase some items , but when I was finally up at the register , they rang me up . The total was $69.00 and some change. I have $100 and the cashier informed me she didn't think she had change for me , she proceeded to call for a boy named Brandon he informed me he would be voiding my purchase call they have no change to give me. Mind you it was like $39.00 change. He asked if I had any credit cards or other means to pay for it and informed him I did not . I told him how can you not have cash in your drawers for your customers , it's the middle of the day. He got snippy with me and was extremely rude he told me talk to management. Or go to a bank If I want my items . Of course, I won't be going back there. Brandon was a snooty little bitch and was rude as all get out. Very Bad Customer Service. Don't go in December. I only went in to browse around and judging by the mess on the shelves and long lines, it was chaotic. Hobby Lobby has a ton of art supplies, toys, other knickknacks for crafting and collecting. Lines were insanely long and hardly moved because the employees took forever ringing items up. This place is AWESOME!!! It's like a mashup of Michael's, Joann's fabrics, and Homegoods in one place! Everything you could possibly want or need for crafts, gifts, or home decor you can find here at good prices! I could spend hours here just looking around. This store lost my business today. I know they don't care but wow, it was a horrible experience. They made me and my daughter feel like criminals and when I asked why the Asst Manager and the workers were following us, the Asst Manager tried to act like she was doing nothing wrong saying the store was closing soon so they were just straightening up that was a lie. 40 mins until they closed and they were not following anyone else and still letting people in. Plus I asked the other worker if we were being followed, he straight out said "yes, they are" "not sure why but they are". If we did something that warranted the behavior then when I ask why, they say why!! you made us feel terrible and my daughter felt scared. This was terrible. I'm so angry. So many things and ideas in this store@ Friendly Staff - 5/5 Helpful Staff - 5/5 Prices - 5/5 I was greeted and treated like any other customer in the store. While no one asked if I needed help, once I asked for it, I was shown the aisle with a smile instead of just pointing and giving me the aisle number! She even spotted her stocking to show me exactly where it was. The next encounter was equally as nice. A different employee KINDLY took the time to explain which paint would work best for the item I had.....EVEN though she was on her way to take another customer to wherever they needed to go.
