12/7/24 Membership perks, gotta love it! Went in to redeem my FREE Christmas ornament with an in-store purchase, was too excited to finally do this, I usually miss, it's for TODAY only. I visited the location in Lakewood earlier & there were about 15 ppl in line... I turned around & said, Ah he'll nah! Checked their 55% off bin & found habanero Tajin-perfect!! It's for my co-worker who loves it, and it's $2.25-Yay! And just like that, went straight to the counter & BAM, entered my number & got my FREE "Ugly Sweater Santa" Christmas ornament worth $7.99. Ah the things that bring me so much J O Y The cashier was so nice & happy for me too. This location is starting to grow on me. I still have my $5 reward waiting for me to spend. I am a regular customer @ World Market. I love to shop here. They have such an excellent selection of international food, wine, beer, bath and beauty products, clothing, accessories, furniture. The kitchen section too is outstanding and has best qualities of cookware, dinnerware and kitchen gadgets. The customer service are excellent and the employees are very attentive, friendly and compassionate. The store has many creative and elegant decorations all the year long as well as during the occasions and special holidays. It is my favorite place to shop in person or online. They offer rewards program for their customers and some free gifts frequently. Again, I just love World Market. I truly appreciate each and every employee in the store. read more

This has always been a favorite stop. The staff is as friendly and helpful as can be. I really enjoy goong thru the store slowly. I always find things that I didnt know I needed. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that they no longer carry their private label coffee in pods. I dont mind paying more. It is better than starbucks by far. I'm usually the customer who writes bad reviews. Not this time. I'm so impressed with the employers and the customer service. I've never had anything but great service, and the employees are considerate, engaging,and very helpful. I was there today, and I think the employees name was Ashley. What a great employee. She was pleasant and actually said, "I haven't seen you." Thst was a nice gesture. She remembered me. All I can say is I wish other employees at different stores would take lessons from Lesley. For the purposes of this review, let's define some terms: (1) shop·ping /SHäpiNG/ - visiting a retail establishment with intent to look over various products and/or services with consideration given to purchasing them. (2) buy·ing /bīiNG/ - identifying an item or items at a retail establishment and purchasing the item(s). Well these two words may seem related and certainly inter-dependent, there's a distinction between them; that is, my wife enjoys shopping, and I enjoy buying. please note that this is not a value judgment... On the contrary, both of these activities have their different merits. It's just that I don't necessarily enjoy spending hours on end looking for things that I might like to purchase. Instead, I usually have a pretty good idea of what I want, and I do a modicum of research in advance to make sure the store has what I want. I then exchange currency, electronic or otherwise, for those goods and services, and quickly return to my home where I put them to use or enjoyment, as the case merits. All that to say, Cost Plus is one of those rare locations where both my bride and I can enjoy our visit, for our own reasons. Mrs. Picante and I went to the San Dimas store today to look for a specific piece of furniture-- a long narrow table to go in our kitchen. While the store did not have precisely what we were looking for, CP is always reliable for wine, small gifts, or other little decor items. Since we recently remodeled our kitchen and are on the hunt for such things, we picked up a couple of items at a good price. We were approached by two different staff members offering to assist us, and the store was clean, open floor plan-style, and well lit. We visit a different Cost Plus more frequently, but that one is almost cluttered compared to this one. So I guess, Dear Reader, one could argue my wife did a little "buying" today, and I dabbled in "shopping." ... to which I would reply that's one of the many things that makes a marriage work well for so long... and a store like Cost Plus helps facilitate. So glad this place reopened! It is quite honestly one of my favorite spots to come for specialty gift items. Gourmet foods, cool greeting cards, nice pottery/dishware, bath rugs and guest bath amenities. They have it all. I went in the other day as I was making my way through shops that had plant pots. Obviously they do not sell live plants only the faux type but they do carry pots... you would just need to drill holes into the bottoms for drainage. This location always have a clearance area - though very small but at least it's there. This is the last Cost Plus Imports in the IE. Respectfully Reviewed. read more

Absolute worst shopping experience I've ever had. Went with my 1 year old son to get some food items and came under the impression that they take EBT. I get to the register and their card machine does not have the option to swipe, but my card needs to be swiped. I ask them if they have the option to swipe it and when the cashier asks his manager, she gives me attitude and a rude response when she sees the EBT card and says "we only take visa and Mastercard". I said everywhere online it states world market accepts EBT, including the California food stamp website. It lists this SPECIFIC LOCATION as one of the locations of World Market that accepts EBT. She said "Mm no". And shook her head. What a horrible shopping experience! Today, I took my mother out for some shopping and decided we'd visit this store since she had been given a Mother's Day gift card. As me and my mom were browsing we came across a lovely outdoor dinning table that was labeled as being on sale for $209.99. My mother even called my dad to see if he'd be able to pick it up after work because she wanted it. So we flagged down an employee who was in the middle of assisting another customer. She let us know that she would call someone else to assist us. A gentleman shortly after assisted us and scanned the price tag and headed to the back to check the inventory. He returned informing us that the table had been mis labeled and that the price tag actually belonged on a smaller version of that table. So the price was actually $549.99. Okay, no big deal we got a lil bummed but we carried on and resumed with our shopping. As we were at the checkout line the young lady who initially tried to get us help asked if we were taking the table. And we informed her of the price tag mix up to where she said "let me check and see what we can do, because I believe we may be able to give it to you for that price or a discount, since it was mis priced" so she turns around and walks over to what appears to be a manager or lead of the floor. (Her name is Erin) Erin looks at both me and my mom and loudly says "I know that, that price tag was switched out because it wasn't like that earlier! Sorry but NO we can't do anything for them!" It felt as though she was implying that me and my mother switched out the darn price tag! And the way she said it was plain inappropriate and just rude. The poor cashier walked over and sadly said "I'm sorry, I thought I'd be able to help you ladies out." To where we replied that "it was okay & thanked her for her attempt" As we walked out to the car my mom was not a happy camper and neither was I. Our words to each other was "what just happened in there!?" Because it honestly felt as though we had just been discriminated against or something. All because of how she blatantly looked at us up and down and handled that whole situation. I sat in my car and decided to call customer service to report this woman and at that point I now wanted to know what their in store policy is. After my phone call I decided to walk back into the store and address this woman myself. Because I truly couldn't believe how rude she was and I wanted her to know how she made both me and my mom feel. (I didn't cause a scene or anything like that) I asked her if she was implying that me and my mom switched the tag? When she said what she said. To where she said "no absolutely not, I'm sorry you took it that way" not an apology! And then when I told her that maybe next time she should watch how loudly and rudely she says things because it really can ruin the whole shopping experience for someone. Because I surely will not be paying any establishment to mistreat me! As I was talking to her she had a giant smirk on her face. And I asked her if it was funny to her because there was nothing funny about being mistreated. She said no then wiped the smug smile off her face. Disgusting behavior honestly! But I felt better having acknowledged the poor behavior and left the store. World market is truly a lovely store but I would suggest visiting another store entirely or just try avoiding this rude human being at all cost! read more

Cost Plus World Market is one of my all time favorite stores. They are open and it feels relatively safe to shop because of the high ceiling and large spacious store. I love their unique clothes, furniture, frames, gifts, dishes, etc. This is the first place I go for any of these things. read more

I've lived Southern CA for 40+ years and was SO lucky to live in San Dimas, which has a World Market. I l always loved the store and spent a good amount of money there over the years. Two stars for the awesome stuff. Zero stars for their dumb Rewards program and they way it is administered. Wandered around the store and selected $55 of random stuff, you know, the odd gift, couple of candles, a bath bomb. Usually I decline "Rewards Program" at all stores because frankly, it's a PITA. Today I decided, what the heck, because it was 15%, it was worth saving the tax plus a little. To make a long story short, texts were sent, codes given, accusations of poor cell phone coverage were thrown about, time was wasted. The code never managed to get to the place it needed to, management don't offer to apply the discount for something that wasn't my fault, and I ended up leaving all my carefully curated items, so annoyed was I. If your store offers a discount, and the customer does what you've asked of them, and it still doesn't work, you've got a bait and switch problem. I don't have the patience or the inclination to deal with this anymore, so I'll order from Amazon or go to another store. It's sad because I'm a long time Cost Plus customer. No more. I love this place. I usually end up spending more time here than I want to (mostly in the food aisles). I mostly come here for the chocolate since I was born and grew up in Canada. They have a lot of familiar items here from my childhood (e.g. Maltesers, Aero, Coffee Crisp, Toblerone etc.) They have a lot of cookies, gluten free items, Italian sparking juice, baking mixes that I purchase. They also have greeting cards, furniture, children's books, toys, and even dog merchandise. The most recent time I came was right before Christmas and they had some great sales (30%+ off many items). Usually for Valentine's Day, instead of a roses and a box of chocolates, my husband gets roses and a bunch of my favorite chocolate from here. HAHAH. Today I purchased a patio table online/ on-sale with an additional curb side 10% off. I really like the safety protocol San Dimas Cost Plus implemented. The only problem was one customer decided she wasn't going to wear a face covering while interacting with the employees. (No fault on Cost Plus's part.) I'm so glad to be supporting this adorable store for all these years and during these trying times. It was busy curb-side so I'm excited to see I'm not the only one! I was looking for some side tables and the employees at the San Dimas store were very helpful and cordial. I Loved that the manager himself Mr Greg, helped me out to load my items with a great smile with positive energy to loaded the items, not only the side tables, I was so impressed that I got into the buying spirit to get some other items that I need. The funny part is I owned a VW Passat, Greg was able to fitted NO ONLY two chairs, but a dining table, 2 chairs, and two nightstands, unbelievable !!!!!!!! He is a perfect example in how to run a retail store creating awesome and long term relationships between customers and his retail business. Love ya Bruh!!! I can't believe I've been passing this place by! It's a strange little store, but if you like charming little knick knacks and foods from around the world, you will love this market. I walked around the store once, but there was too much too to see in one go. All I can tell you is, you will find some very unique, interesting, high & low quality things ranging from food to furniture. My reason for stopping by was the Holiday candy selection, which is so popular, it supposedly sells out the first week and a half of December. The MozartKugeln Chocolate Marzipan is particularly popular. That's about it. I'm a foodie, so everything else was secondary. I came to return some items that my wife had purchased on our joint credit card. The cashier could not make it work, even though both cards had the same number, and I had the receipt and my card. She called the manager over. The manager tried, and told me that she could credit my card, but to do it she would have to make a phone call, and that was just too much effort (her words, almost verbatim). There were 2-3 other customers in the whole store. I was the only one near the checkout lines. We weren't holding anyone up. Instead of just making a phone call to obtain an authorization code, the manager made me make a second round trip, with my whole family, on a weekend, when the store was *much* busier, to complete the transaction. Compare to Home Depot: I brought my receipt. They didn't even ask to see my credit card, just credited the money back. The company didn't make it hard on their employees with a bad policy, and the employees had no reason to take out their frustration on a customer. read more

I had forgotten that Cost Plus carried specialty lines of bath & body products, candles, & a small section of greeting cards that unique & well made. I purchased a few birthday gifts. And got list in the vintage toy section. I hollard when I saw the silly puddy. They even had a small section of Christmas decor 90% off. I got a 2018 calendar with puppies. The store wad very clean & organized. I was brought a basket to hold my finds, I didn't expect to find so many goodies! I will return next month to get a rug. Allow time to look thru each area. I was ready to go pick up my order curbside this morning. I was there just a few minutes after 10 am and called the store and was notified that they didn't open until 11 am. I realized it was my fault that I had failed to check the store hours, but I spoke with Chrissy and she said give her a moment and she would bring my order out to me. It was just a couple of minutes and there she appeared. She even put the bag in my back seat without me getting out. I really appreciated this because even though this is my closest World Market, it's still about seven miles from my home. I was so thankful that Chrissy saved me a trip back.
