This is what I found in my $5 grab bag! Ariel would of been very amused.

I love visiting this cute place. I visited with my mom a while back and bought two flannel shirts for the price of one. It was a bit pricey since it was $50, but well worth it since the quality is great and it's crafted in California. I visited again today and bought a world map for $5 and 2 keys for $2 each. They sell a bunch of cute but informational posters for $5 that you can use for gift wrapping or wall decor. I love the cute, random stuff they have like vintage music sheets on sale for $1 for five sheets. I purchased a $5 grab bag. They have a stall set up with a bunch of sealed bags on sale but the catch is that you can't peek what's inside so it's a total mystery! Of course, I picked up the heaviest one and found it was a bunch of silverware, lol. It also included these poofy yarn balls that I can give to my mom's cats. I'd buy a grab bag again because I love the thrill of it and it's inexpensive.

A wonderful class to take for beginners to shabby furniture distressing! My mother and I took a private class - definitely the way to go. We were able to work on larger pieces than if we were in a group class. It was a little more expensive but worth it for the one-on-one direction (private lessons are done in pairs, but still very hands on). The owner Michelle ran the class and was extremely helpful. She explained the entire process, walked us through each step, and told us about the tools we were using. She made sure to help when needed but also step back and let us create our own pieces. The class was from 1-5pm with a short 30 minute break in between. I absolutely loved the Annie Sloan paint, wax and brushes - definitely good quality stuff! I felt comfortable afterwards that I could do the same technique on other furniture. I would go back again just to get some more tips from Michelle or pickout paint for another project. Highly recommend this place for a ladies craft day!

I stopped in here to buy Annie Sloan chalk paint, and I was totally happy after leaving because the girl working was so friendly and knowledgeable. She gave good advice and even told me about the cool events and painting classes they offer. On top of it all, there was really cute furniture and decorative items for sale. I'll definitely be back.

    Darling little place!

Knot Too Shabby is one of those places that catches you completely off guard, step inside and prepare to fall in love! So creative, festive, chic and cheery! Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Great little business for an original gift or decor addition! Will definitely be returning with some of my girlfriends for their milk paint workshop. Check this place out!

I have always loved to browse this store but recently decided to try my hand at a painting project. The owner was super helpful answering my questions and not intimidating whatsoever! She walked me through all of the steps, and supplies I would need. She also didn't try to oversell me on products when there was something else I already owned that would work. I turned a vintage dresser into a TV stand and it turned out fantastic! It is the centerpiece of my living room. I love this store!

I had an amazing time today and I met some wonderful people. Our paint-a-piece class, using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint products, was so much fun! We learned about various brushes, color, waxes and technique. Thanks to our awesome instructor Kelly, I feel confident I can apply what I learned and am highly motivated to paint some more. My husband was really impressed with how my little piece turned out! I will definitely be returning for more technique classes and I hope to see some of the ladies I met tonight.

Our instructor Kristen (and the blonde instructor -- forgot her name) were patient and encouraging throughout the entire class. Kristen's in depth explanation + demonstration was easy to follow as a beginner, but the instructors frequently made their rounds to work with everyone individually, giving advice and feedback. Despite the class session only being 2 hrs, I felt like I was able to focus on improving basic skills and learning new techniques. Even if you don't have any interest in pottery, I HIGHLY recommend taking a class regardless. The space is welcoming, and it was a great (and fun) way to release stress creatively :) looking forward to how my pieces come out!

It was a full class and the instructor patiently explained each step. Before you sign up, make sure to read the description carefully. There are hand-building classes and wheel throwing classes. Hand-building is hand molding and you don't work with the wheel. My one-time matcha bowl and whisk holder making class was hand-building and we don't get to decorate or glaze it. Instead, you get to pick from a selection of paint colors and their team finish glazing and fire it for you. You also need to wait about 6 weeks for it to be ready for pick up, which is standard for community pottery places. I picked the white paint with specks which I regretted. The glaze came back with some uneven spots and a dark brown mark on the outside. Since the studio glazed it for us, I was a little disappointed with the final result. Pottery definitely tests your patience and perfectionism. Not sure if pottery is for me, but I might come back for their wheel throwing class.
