This Michael's is a bit out of my way, but I went there yesterday because I needed black poster board which was out of stock in La Verne. It appears bigger and seems to have more variety of things than my local Michael's. Like another Yelper mentioned, they have a balloon service and yesterday they had at least 5 balloon bouquets ready to be picked up! I wish I had taken a picture. It is a bit of a maze but since I was talking to my daughter on the phone anyway, I walked every aisle and appreciated all the variety of items available, from figurines for DIY dollhouses or dioramas, to fabrics, to dozens of types of yarn, to silk flowers, to frames, to paper products such as the black poster board I needed. Two staff up front helping people, even though you basically use a touchscreen--one was guiding an older customer how to navigate the touchscreen, and the other was helping a young person use her gift card. Michael's is just a place that makes me happy to walk into because it's bright, inviting, and allows people to explore or dive deeper into their creative side. read more

I was easily able to place an order for my husband's birthday balloons online and within a short timeframe, I stopped in to pick-up. They even allow you to bring in your own balloons to inflate! I've been 3 times within the last month or so. First time I went in for the picture frames... and they had a special so that was awesome. 2nd time I went in for a washi-tape storage unit. The one I purchased I realized was cracked so I went back in the next day and replaced it. No hassles what-so-ever. They had plenty of frames to select from and the staff member that works over in that department helped show me the BOGO 1/2 price area as well. Respectfully Reviewed. PS. This Michael's has been here for years. It's tucked in the corner. While it is the standard size Michael's, they have packed in Christmas seasonal items in aisles. It's a bit of a maze to find things. Anyway, their Christmas items aren't on sale. Check out is now self serve except for one cahier. I actually don't have a problem with this. Usually, I go to Hobby lobby, but I was next-door at Aldi, so stopped at Michael's. The last time I was here, I literally had to call the store on my phone (after waiting about 10 minutes with no employees anywhere in sight), to get an associate to come up to the register, to assist me. DO *NOT *DROP YOUR UPS Package Here. I dropped a package off October 5th, 2023 and they lost it. I couldn't file a claim with UPS because they were never in position of it. Every time I tracked the package it always said it was there. Several managers went to *look* for it but could never find it. I described the employee who helped me so they can follow up with her since she didnt follow whatever procedure for UPS packages. Apparently, that wasn't done either. I was told to call in their customer service line. When I did, their call centers are overseas and couldn't comprehend to issue I was having. They ended up hanging up on me. When I started to call the store more often, I wasn't given any answers or solutions. I left repeated messages with managers for upper management with no return/follow up phone calls. November 13th, 6 weeks later, my package was found and manager Larissa called me to give me the option to pick it up. When I asked what happened no one could tell me how this happened. So it's clear there's still no communication between staff and management. On November 14th, when I went to pick up the-never-shipped-package, I asked for a manager. Manager Christopher was absolutely no help. Didn't even know what was going on nor seem compassionate about the experience I was going through. He stated he knew nothing about the situation. Said he was new. I asked him how long he'd been there and he stated 3 weeks. I asked him what's the process for employees to get messages to managers. Said they were supposed to give it to them right away. I asked him how did this happen, he couldn't answer. I asked him what's the procedure for collecting UPS packages. He couldn't answer. Every question I asked him, he couldn't answer and started to deflect for me to call 1800Michaels. How are they supposed to help over the phone on a different hemisphere what your store procedures are? I told him they weren't even aware of accepting UPS packages. He was completely useless from a customer standpoint. He stated he he was responsible for the new look of the store and how the shelves are fully stocked. It came off tone-deaf and insensitive since that wasn't the matter at hand. I asked him if he knew who dealt with BBB complaints. He had no clue. As a Michael's card holder, a Seller on their Maker Place, a frequent shopper online and in-store, and custom framing, its beyond frustrating to shop there. And they're the closet location. I never thought I would be treated this way for this long. Then they're hiring ineffective managers who lack customer serve skills (Chris). What a shame. At this time, my phone calls and BBB complaint is still unanswered. read more

The only reason I decided to give 3 stars instead of 1 was because of Mia. She was very kind and polite and gave excellent customer service. She turned my experience from bad to tolerable. I feel bad for her because the manager there was very rude and honestly after the first interaction with him I was scared to even ask him for more help. I asked him where a certain section was and all he said was "back corner of the store" and he continued to push his cart around. When I went to checkout he was up there as well huffing and puffing and sighing saying are you f**king kidding me under his breath. Checkout got busy today because there was a customer holding up the line and continued to be entitled and ungrateful that they honored a ridiculous discount on something not actually discounted because the customer doesn't know how to read tags. You end up going to the front and inform them of not getting help and have to wait another ten minutes till the person decides to come out of the framing room to help you. So I've been standing by the spray paint cage for a while now and there is a button that you press for some assistance. I believe I've pressed it maybe 3 times and no one has came to help. Not surprised at the low ratings here. Went to this location today because they were the only location that had the product I needed. Placed my order for pick up then drove over to pick up additional items. I saw as the girl picked my order so when I went to pay I mentioned to the cashier that I wanted to pick up my order as well. The girl that picked my order told her she would bring it in 3-4 minutes. I used the restroom which was filthy and still walked around another 5 minutes or so. Then I went outside and waited an additional 20 minutes or so until I received an email stating my order was ready for pick up. I walked in and it was not ready, it was still in the girl's cart. She asked me to wait a few minutes because she was still working on bagging other orders....while I did not see anyone else waiting to pick up an order. She wanted me to continue waiting after having me wait already 30 + minutes. No common sense whatsoever...I was waiting on 2 items that were sitting in her cart.
