Love this place used to shop there every week when I worked at Bienvenidos I was so happy with all the supplies at one stop. 10 stars

They need to be specific on their description that you are unable to purchase items that are on display and that you have to place an order before you come into the store. I was disappointed with the customer service as well, the lady i had to approach (even though the place is really small they did not greet me or ask if I had a question or even explain how it worked, i was clearly unsure) told me that even if I did place an order for products on the floor that it would have to be processed which would not be right away and they would have to look for them in the back which clearly didn't make any sense. It just seemed more confusing than anything. She ended up telling me to drive out to Riverside to the other store, which I didn't plan on doing considering I may have been spending a lot of time in traffic and I live in the general area of this location. Why would I think it would be a good idea to haul my three children in tow just to drive over to a different location. My suggestion is for them to have signs out front that let people know that they are unable to make cash or card purchases that it's just a pick up for online orders. read more

A teacher supply store that is not just overpriced but doesn't give a teacher discount! Really? I came here to support a smaller store than lakeshore. No more, not only is it over priced but this location is no longer a retail store. You have to order your things online and come pick them up. No thanks, I will be driving one exit over off the freeway and making my way to Lakeshore where I will get my educator discount from now on. read more

I don't understand how a store that is specifically tailored for teachers to purchase school supplies is not open on weekends and closes at 4pm during the week. Do they not know we teach during the day!? Their website and yelp all say they are open. Yet, as I arrived there was a note on the door saying their hours have changed. Won't be coming here again. You know it is time to go back to school when it is time to go to CM School Supply. I found my pineapple boarders that I was looking for and some cut outs for me and my office buddy. Hard to truly rate this place because I love the store but they have the worst customer service. This is a teachers' heaven and they have a great selection of school supplies. They always have what I'm looking for. As much as i love this store their customer service is HORRIBLE. I have been going here for years, and I have never encountered a smiling, helpful associate. Luckily I always know what I'm looking for and don't need much help. Employees always have attitude and act bothered when you ask a question. They always make you feel as if you are bothering them by shopping there. I've asked questions at check out and they are never answered, and if they are it's with attitude. A bit overpriced too. Many items I've seen there I've found at Target or Walmart or half the price. I wouldn't recommend buying any markers, pens, etc. here because it's double the price. read more

DON'T SHOP AT THIS LOCATION!!!!! Well let me start off on the good points of this store. It is very clean and well-organized. I found it easy to find items on the subject areas I was looking for. There was also a good variety of resources I could use as a teacher. However, all of the good was overshadowed by the staff at the store. They were unfriendly and rude. First of all, I was waiting in line for a long time and there were 3 women behind the counter. Only one was actually completing transactions. One was looking through some papers and the other was looking busy. Never, in the 5 minutes I was waiting in line, did they bother to acknowledge my existence with a "thank you for waiting, we'll be with you in a moment" or even a "hello." Once I finally got to the register I was shocked with the service I received from the cashier. I said "hello" and there was no response from her. Then I had to ask about the rewards program. It seemed as though I was bothering her by asking about it. Once my transaction was completed and I filled out my information for the program she briefly told me about it with a condescending tone in her voice. I thought it was just me being sensitive but when I got into the car I asked my sister if she thought the staff was rude and she completely agreed with me. When searching for this store on Yelp I was shocked to see the high ratings they received from other Yelpers. After talking to other people, who shopped at this location before, I realized that I wasn't oversensitive. They had the same experience with the staff at the Upland location. One person said they even heard another customer ask the cashier if they were always unfriendly to their customers when they were in the store. I was even more shocked because I usually shop at the Anaheim store and the staff there is really nice and friendly. I don't know what the deal is with this location but I will be telling all of my teacher friends to not even bother going to this location unless they want to be ignored and have to deal with unfriendly workers. read more

As a new teacher, my classroom was a blank canvas. While I don't plan on blanketing my room with those typical posters of classrooms past, I did need a few things to get started. The store was laid out pretty conveniently and easy to maneuver. The day I came in wasn't too busy, maybe ten other people in the store. I found what I decided I was looking for and checked out. The line itself took longer than I wanted to wait to get through, but I had nothing else to do so it wasn't a huge issue. After going to the store in Anaheim, I'll probably return to Anaheim in the future. Not only were they incredibly friendly and helpful, they were quick. They also helped me sign up for their rewards card, something the other store didn't even mention. I get it, I look like I'm 19 and don't exactly look like your conventional teacher, but let's treat everyone equally. read more

Saturday, I was in a pinch to find my niece a present for her 1st birthday. I had originally bought her a "stuffed" animal at Target, but after further consideration, I decided not to give it to her based on the fact that it had the same softness and texture as an old burlap sack. Okay, that was a slight exaggeration, but it wasn't something that a kid would want to snuggle with. I didn't want to have to deal with any issues with her down the road, especially if she remembered that I got her that damn bear that rubbed her skin off every time she touched it. So, one of my friends recommended this place in Upland, which just so happened to be on my way to the party, which was just perfect. Actually, this place is more of a school supply store, however, it also had a ton of various educational toys and a number of real stuffed animals, which is ultimately what I ended up getting for my niece. Mission accomplished. However, if you are a local teacher and you don't already know about this place, I strongly recommend it. This place has *everything* but it is super expensive $$$ and has a "no return or exchange" policy. I stupidly bought these alphabet stamps that were outrageously priced, because I could not find them else where (because I hadn't looked hard enough). What I really don't understand about this ridiculously pricey store is that it is for *teachers* and sadly, teachers don't really make a lot of money. I'd highly suggest going to Dollar Tree, the 99 cents store, HomeGoods, and Tuesday Morning before EVER setting foot in this overly priced school supply store. Sadly, after I had spent more that $30 on alphabet stamps, I found almost the same exact ones (for less than half the price) at HomeGoods. Again, if you're looking for something fast, they will have it. But be willing to spend double/triple for that "convenience". I will never be going back to this place as it is a total rip-off. read more

I have been shopping here for a few years and I'm sad to say it's going down hill fast! The product the store carries is wonderful, like it always has been. But, the staff and management is awful. Perhaps the lady with the curly brown hair and glasses should wait until customers are out of the store before she bad mouths them to her colleagues and staff..and it's occurred more than once to myself and a few of my co-teachers. My two favorite girls are no longer working there which is a total bummer because they have helped me so much over the years! But not surprising since management is very unprofessional. My supply shopping that was once pleasant has been replaced with rudeness, sarcasm, and bad mouthing. My shopping will only take place only online now..I suggest whoever is reading this to do the same. read more

I went there just today and was very surprised to be met with such colorful and exciting materials which contrasted so much with their customer service. The ladies there had a disdain about them. I was actually looking for a specific type of class poster and walked up to the lady stocking them. She ignored me. Soon another gal showed up and asked if she needed help stocking. Hello, I did... I proceeded to tell her I could use some help. After asking her for what I was looking for, she simply said they didn't carry that and continued to talk to the other employee. As I drove home, I asked my daughter if it was me overreacting, or if she thought these ladies were rude. My ten year old agreed, adding that the gal at the register had looked at her with eyes of disgust because she had smelled a SCENTED pencil. I know that I won't be coming back. This is the first time at this location and I have to say the the person who made the comment about the employee with the orange color hair seemed to fit the bill! I saw her and she saw me and never said hello, she looked very rude! Thankfully I didn't let that detour me from what I need from the store. When I checked out thankfully I had a totally different, and nice cashier! I don't k know where the lady went with the orange hair, but I hope it was home! These stores seem to pride themselves on providing supplies for teachers, but fail in the customer service department! This is a well-stocked and organized school supply store. While I was honestly a bit overwhelmed at all the choices (obviously, a good "problem" to have), the employees were helpful. I appreciated the rolls of butcher (bulletin board) paper in so many colors and patterns. i feel like they are pretty reasonably priced, especially for the large roll. I'm not really sure about what may have happened with the other reviewers, it doesn't even sound like the same store. I have been in several times and actually drove quite a way to return there over the weekend. The staff has always been incredibly friendly and helpful, in one circumstance above and beyond what most merchants would even do to help. It is a peaceful place to walk about looking around, a wonderful area for reading books, a plethora of things for setting up a classroom, a variety of supplies to help not only educators but parents. People were friendly and helpful.One associate in particular went out of her way to help me. I felt they had better customer service and much more of a well rounded selection than the nearby chain teacher supply store. The Bestine Rubber Cement Remover website suggested this place as a vendor who sold Bestine, which I needed quickly and in large quantities (what can't it do??) . Since all the art supply stores seem to be on the westside or in Pasadena, this place was heaven sent... or so I thought. When I arrived, I was shocked at how much STUFF was in this place, the floor is almost the size of a football field! They had everything I could ever imagine from my school days, from those Pee Chee folders w/ the ghetto sports drawings, to fake awards for "meritorious conduct," to construction paper in every color you could imagine. I was tempted to buy some of the magnet experiments in the science section to play with at home, as well as a number of other things like "honorable mention" and "great participant!" ribbons for joke gifts for my coworkers in the American spirit of celebration of mediocrity. But first, I needed my Bestine.... which they sadly did not carry. I was disappointed, but they can't control what a website they don't run says about what they carry. As my wife and I were leaving, we remarked that when we had kids, all their presents would be coming from this store. Stuff is awesome here! read more

Excellent selection of educational supplies, including creative hard-to-find items. They stock a large variety of beginning reader books. I have been coming to this store for a couple of years and I love it! Looking at the following reviews have shocked me. Normally I do not do "Yelps" but I found these below..SHOCKING. First of all, for the people who said this store has terrible customer service, you're crazy. The sales girls are more than cheery, always have smiles and always ask how you are doing upon checking out. A small girl with long brown hair and a man were more than happy to answer my questions, and I happened to come in when only her and another girl were working. There were quite a few people in, and they were still delightful! I think it's the teachers who shop here are the ones with the attitudes. Making a scene because they do not return books...It CLEARLY states that on the receipt and on the counters.. as a teacher you would think they would read the final print. Or they start throwing a fit because they no longer carry a product. It isn't the sale associates fault! GOSH. They try and find something similar but I guess for some people that isn't good enough. This place is obviously doing something right if it's still around after more than 10 years. So if your looking for a place to shop with everything a teacher or parent needs to educate, this is it! read more

Full of beautiful teacher supplies, but the employees need to take a class on manners! An older employee kicked me out of the store five minutes before closing even though I had a cart full of items to buy. It was very strange. I was being assisted by a younger employee who was very helpful, but the older employee was very intent on my leaving the store. She kept interrupting us and pressuring me to leave. When I became annoyed and tried to walk out the front door, it was locked. Seemed like she was more concerned about closing the store than helping a customer. Go to Thematic Attic in Covina. Let me say this place sucks. and I do mean Sucks!! Why can't I give this place 0 stars? Ok now let me start. Me and my mom walk in here because I was looking for some Schleich figures. It states on the website that they carry them. So I gave them a call and well they must have closed?. Cause no one picked up Phone, I called about after 5:00pm, So I went over there the next day. Before I step foot in there I notice the hours on the door said. 9:00am to 6:00pm And I thought what? oh well but anyway. We were the only people in the store I thought the place looked fun and colorful many supplies for School use indeed. Well I had been in there searching for a good 10 min. or so. one employee I spotted I said "excuse me". But she walked past me. But thankfully I spotted the figures I was trying to find. they didn't have many but I did found 5 figures I wanted to buy. But no price listed. So I go to an employee near by. I asked her for the price. She told me "I'm busy and don't have time go to the counter and ask". I thought how rude! but Whatever. So I go to the counter and saw no one My mom went to see if someone else was around? I stand there for a good 5 min. until a lady walks to the front I said "excuse me miss". She looks at me then walks over and says "Do you want something?" First of all It's do you need help or may I help you?. Not Do you want something? bad service there. So I told her yes and if I can please have the price check on the figures. she tells me "I don't know all I do is stock merchandise" I ask her can you please find out? She gives me that looks as if I'm asking much. She calls a gentleman over. and I ask him and hey says Their all different prices. I showed him the Rhino and tells me $7.99 Then I ask for the zebra but he takes off on me. I said excuse me sir I had another. So now an elder lady comes and tells me "What is it I want?" I told her the price on the Zebra. and I was told 6 something. then takes off on me. I then leave the store with nothing! Nice to have a local neighborhood store to get our teaching supplies, but the customer service has always been hit and miss. Lately (thanks to Yelp?), 90% of the time the clerks have been pleasant to me. Today's transactions, however, were strange, to say the least. A clerk called my wife to notify that her special order was ready today but my wife had a doctor's appt. and probably couldn't make it. My son went to pick it up for her but the clerk told him that no item was available under our last name, so my son left empty handed. When my wife was able to get to the store before closing the clerk instantly found the item and he told my wife that my son only told him our "last name" so that's why he couldn't locate the item. WTHeck??? You didn't have 5th Grade wherewithal to ask my son my wife's first name just to cross-check the customer names on the special order cubby? I want to pull my hair out when my 9th graders don't use common sense, but moments like this make me wonder if many adults have common sense as well read more

I have been going here for almost a decade now. I love this place! I buy my posters, workbooks, art/ paper supplies, etc here. I even bought toys for nephews and nieces here when they were younger. It is just so sad to see that as the years past, it seems like their customer service had declined. They don't say hello, thanks for stopping by, or thanks for shopping, or have a nice day etc. They don't smile nor asked if you need help with something. But since I know what I'm looking for, I just go straight to the aisle/s I need to go to, pay and leave ( believe it or not even after I paid, they just say, "here's your receipt" and that's it--- no thank you...nothing) . I hope they change their ways before their customers go to the other school supply store on Mountain Ave. (also in Upland) or shop at an online store (which sometimes can be cheaper...). read more
