What was supposed to be a magical birthday celebration for my daughter at Disneyland got completely rained out. Who came to the rescue? In The Kiln! We scrambled for a last-minute change of plans, and it turned out to be absolutely perfect. They were incredibly accommodating: we hosted the birthday party right in the studio, decorated the space, brought our own food and non-alcoholic drinks, and set up a special designated area for the birthday girl and her friends. Laura and Bob were beyond patient and so helpful with the kids, guiding them every step of the way to make sure everything came out just right. The selection of pottery pieces is huge (overwhelming in the best way) and they even surprised us with a complimentary plate featuring all her friends' little fingerprints. What a thoughtful touch! This place was fantastic! We will definitely come back. We had a group of 10 and they were able to accommodate us. Several little ones ages 3-7 and Bob was so kind and patient and helpful with them. I really feel like I should have paid a babysitting fee lol. My daughter and I came in for some quality time of painting. It was so nice and quiet. They have a huge selection of ceramics to choose from. The same goes for the paint color selection. Was looking for somewhere to entertain my kids for an afternoon & found this place online. We booked online for a 2hr Sat session. The owner was super nice and showed us around. He gave us tips and showed my kid this special technique for painting his owl every step of the way. He's so patient & friendly. We even got a tour of their backstage area where they mix the clay, make the pieces & the kiln. We went back & got our finished product the next week & the kids ended up picking something else to work on. It's a bit pricy but Bob made it all worth it. I brought my 5 year old and 3 year old here to paint Christmas ornaments for our tree. We came in the middle of the afternoon and we were the only ones there. The staff was wonderful. As a whole, having kids this age around a ton of fragile breakable products is a terrible idea, but the staff was easy going and didn't flinch like I did every time the kids touched something. The girl assisting us was very patient and accommodating. She explained in terms the girls could understand. She brought out samples for them to be able to visualize different painting techniques. She filled the girls pallets full with every single color on the planet that they requested-and then another couple full pallets because they wanted ALL the colors. Then another pallet with paints that had sparkles in it. Mind you these kids are painting a 4 inch Christmas ornament. The girls haphazardly start slapping paint on and then realize they should have done a nicer job painting and started freaking out. The girl helping us came to the rescue and was able to wash off their paint so they could start anew. The only thing I wished was different was the facility did not call to notify us the ornaments were done. They said they normally do, but I'm assuming they were pretty busy during the Christmas season. The ornaments came out much nicer than I anticipated!! On the website it asks for you to make a table reservation, which I did, but when we showed up in the store it seemed like the reservation wasn't very relevant unless you are going to be having a large party or event. But I did appreciate that by putting in my info beforehand, I received email reminders/confirmation or our reservation. The staff was very welcoming, constantly checked in us to make sure we were fairing well, and gave us some technique tips. There was a kids party going on while we were there and they seemed to be having a great time. Some of the nicest people I've ever met. The owners are SUPER nice and helpful. (Family operates business I believe) She was very patient when we were there about 1 1/2 after they closed and I really appreciated not being rushed out and finishing my piece comfortably. They have a very big selection on the piece of pottery you'd like to paint and then you get to take it home like 7-9 days later. Was looking for something creative to do with my 4 year old son and I was more than happy with the experience we had here. We each picked out a piece to paint, the staff was friendly and explained the steps we needed to do. Bob, I think his name is, was super nice to my little man, showing/explaining how to paint his little ice cream cone. I wanted my son to learn as much as he can so i was interested in seeing the "kiln," I was so pleased they were happy to take us to the back, explained to my little guy how molds were made, how "greenware" was delicate, he even got to smash a couple pieces, then got to see the kiln itself and the glossing machine.
