First time making a pot ever and I tried it at Studio Claremont during a Sunday for an adult class. The teacher gave us instructions on how to make pottery items. It is your choice on how big or small you want it and how you would like to paint it as well. Just note that you should not paint the bottom of it so when they can bake it, it will be ok. Overall the session was fun and yes your hands will be a little messy from the clay but you can wash them, inside of the studio towards the back. I came with a party of four and all of us came with something unique and different. I would do this again and can't wait for my next projects. Oh yeah, you will not get it right away you have to let it stay a few days and they will leave it outside with a locker code so you can pick it up anytime after it gets baked in the oven. read more

I came here with my fiancé to do their painting pottery that they have every first weekend of the month. Jackie was the one to greet us and she was so kind and helpful throughout the whole process. They have a cute selection of different pottery to choose from and I also liked how calming the vibes of the whole place was! I've been to Color Me Mine and I would choose Studio Claremont over it 1000x over! Came here for pottery painting and the experience was pleasant. The person working was very attentive and answered all questions we had. I had no issues at all during the experience. I deducted 2 stars because the glazing was done pretty poorly... there were parts where the glazing was oozing down the jar I had painted as well as my boyfriend's mug, and spots that were missed. I have gone to another small studio for pottery painting before and didn't have issues with the glazing, so this was a little disappointing. Lastly, the lid of the jar ended up with a pretty deep scratch and a chip in it, which weren't there when I initially checked the jar. All in all, I probably wouldn't come back here because it doesn't seem like the pieces are handled with care and the glazing was done poorly. read more

I used to take my daughter to Art classes at Studio Claremont every week. One day we had placed a deposit down of $50 for the next session. However, we were not able to enroll at the times available. So, I had a $50 credit on the books. (or did I?) We had a birthday party which cost a good amount but Mrs. Heide would not let the credit be used toward the party. We tried on several other occasions to reconcile the $50 credit. For example we suggested a refund, store merchandise, or to use the credit for a one time class. No such luck. Mrs. Heide gave us the run a round for a good part of the year. Finally, she reluctantly agreed to let my daughter take a one time class. To get Mrs. Heide to agree was painful process. So much that my 8 year old daughter even knew something was up. About 5 minutes into the class I had to pull my daughter from it because Mrs. Heide's attitude was so poor. All I can say is I will never ever recommend this business nor patronize it ! If Mrs. Heide can not have the decency treat customers with a small degree of flexibility in an attempt to spend a credit that is on her books then she does not deserve my business or a good review. We were referred to Studio Claremont by the mother of one of my son's friends at his school. At first, we were a little skeptical, with each class being 1 1/2 hours long, we weren't sure that our 5-year old son would pay attention the whole time. But after that first class, he was hooked! He LOVES his art classes and looks forward to the following week. We are pleased with the art teachers, who are patient and attentive to the children. Also, I think the fees are reasonable, we have actually paid more for 1/2 hour classes at my son's school, and their work was sub-par. Overall, Studio Claremont is the best! read more

Did a super fun class where i got to paint my pet! The teachers were very supportive and they gave me tips on how to add dimension to my baby kitty. My only quip is that they closed at 9, offered to wrap my remaining paint up, but I declined because I had too much stuff to carry home. I was hoping they'd honor my request the next day (to get to little squirts of paint to fix my drawing), and they declined. Come on now...they make plenty of money per class but they claimed they had limited supplies. Smh. Great otherwise! read more

If I could give this a 0 rating I would. The concept of the school is great, they do many things in the class from reading a story, to painting and other mixed media like clay or paper mache'. Once the class is done then they can see the window decorated with the theme and their art work. However, they do not include all students and kicked out my son due to him having special needs. Their lack of understanding, and exclusion shows ignorance which I cannot recommend to anyone. I had explained to them prior that my son had autism, and helped out, but once they no longer allowed me to help then they said my son was having too hard of a time. I was always next door, while other parents picked up their children afterwards. One does not remove accommodations from children with special needs. My son loved it, and wanted to go back. I had to explain to my son how they did not want him back because there are people in the world who are judgmental and mean, including adults. One of the teachers claimed she had experience with art therapy. They are discriminatory, and I would not recommend this place to any child or adult as they discriminate against others based on their disabilities. read more

The projects they came home with make my walls and their grandparents walls look like we have talented artists! My 4th son took the one day clay class as he wasn't sure he was an artist. We love Studio Claremont and have been attending classes there for almost 3 years. The staff are incredibly kind and thoughtful with the kids. My daughters both love their teachers and the art that they do. The projects are somewhat algorithmic, so the pieces often do look similar. However, the step-by-step instructions teach the kids about the PROCESS of creating art, and the repeated practice gives them the ability to take what they do in class into their own art projects at home. The policy about not making-up classes is not arbitrary. Most of the projects the kids work on are created over a series of weeks. The projects are stored (sorted) by class period so that the kids can complete the project the following week. It isn't easy to track unfinished art from week to week, but Studio Claremont has a system that works for them. If students were constantly missing and making up classes, it would not be possible for the staff to keep the projects organized. When we started at Studio Claremont, the staff let us know this policy, and it seems infinitely reasonable to me. Thanks for all that you do! read more

Supporting them only to make my son leave the class after he already sat down to work, as we missed a Tuesday class and attempted to make up the class the next Saturday.
