It is your choice on how big or small you want it and how you would like to paint it as well. Just note that you should not paint the bottom of it so when they can bake it, it will be ok. Overall the session was fun and yes your hands will be a little messy from the clay but you can wash them, inside of the studio towards the back. I came with a party of four and all of us came with something unique and different. I would do this again and can't wait for my next projects. Oh yeah, you will not get it right away you have to let it stay a few days and they will leave it outside with a locker code so you can pick it up anytime after it gets baked in the oven.

She shares years of wisdom and experience about both art and life. Every class has a real lesson plan and homework. She starts with the basics, works with you on what you want to learn, and personally checks your work, writing progress notes in her beautiful handwriting. She teaches techniques and approaches that you simply don't find on YouTube. Today she taught me the steps of "drawing three ways," "sit and think in color," "block," and "paint." She also lent me two of her watercolor books on tips and techniques to study at home. She generously lends books every week and even gave me a palette with her colors from her tubes. She spends time helping you choose the right paints and brushes and every week she gives me two sheets of watercolor paper and said, "Go play with it." That encouragement alone made me smile. "Choose (to paint) what inspires you..a thought, a dream, an image or real life" One of my favorite lessons from her has nothing to do with technique. She taught me never to say "I messed up." Instead, say "It wasn't supposed to be this way." What a beautiful way to look at art -- and life. Elizabeth is not just a teacher. She gets to know you as a person, listens to you, and somehow feels a little like a therapist, too. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students. She also does drawing and watercolor and is starting Expressive art therapy sessions soon! At $60 per class, I feel I'm getting so much more than a watercolor lesson. I'm getting an education, mentorship, encouragement, creativity, and wisdom from someone with decades of experience. If you have the opportunity to learn from Elizabeth, take it! She is also very helpful and encouraging! For a four-class series, you can expect to make a tote bag, a zipper pouch, and a garment of your choice. The natural progression of stacking new skills (various folding patterns, learning how to sew a zipper, making a larger garment) is very well thought out. The classroom interior is colorful and inspiring, and the stations are organized, clean, and clutter-free. Everyone here is welcoming, kind, and passionate about sewing and teaching. This is such a fun classroom setting with amazing and talented instructors. I highly recommend this place!

We had a couple glitches with scheduling due to personal matters and Yvonne was so kind to work with us. Our instructor Kim was so sweet and informative. The instructions were clear, process was easy and in two hours we made our reversible tote bags. The studio is a beautiful creative space that warms your soul the minute you arrive. This was a surprise birthday gift for my bestie and she had a great time. We will be back. I highly recommend this experience!

I follow on IG mentioned Craft Collective as being a new business that was supporting local artists, and I had to find a way to make a visit. Located in Ontario, it's right around the corner of Logan's Candies, and down the street from Unique Cafe and Newsboy Books. I was able to do street parking without too much issue, but I also visited on a weekday (Friday) versus a weekend. But it seems like there should be enough parking even on a weekend! There are still some displays being setup (I walked in when they were building a paper mache piece in one of their windows), but there is a LOT to see when you come by. There are various artists on display now, and more to come! I loved seeing all of the amazing colors and the creativity of folks, and I loved seeing some of the artists that I already follow (including @supercoolspyclub). After making a visit here, there were definitely more artists that I now had to follow on IG! You WILL find something for everyone at this shop. Between the stickers, keychains, art prints, small art pieces, large art pieces, onesies, t-shirts, etc., there are gift options everywhere. Highly, highly recommend to make a visit, as what I took pictures of today may not be available months from now. I was also able to meet the owners Eva and Jonas! Lovely couple, and we were able to chat about the artists and the joy of art. I can see its future as being a gallery/store, and it's such a nice space to really display art, or do workshops (took a picture of their t-shirt printer!). Prices are variable depending on the artist! Keep in mind that all work take time and effort, but some take a looooot of hours, and the prices should reflect that amount of time. Definitely will want to come back!
