After 27 years in Customer Service, I have never been SOOOOOO angry at an employee of a company. I usually chalk it up to training or personal issues, but today it was truly a personal power issue. Kaylee the manager opened another line, she then told a woman waiting in the first line to go over to the line she just opened. I proceeded to go after her, Kaylee then stopped me and told me I had to wait until 4 people who were in back of this lady, but hadn't moved from the first line yet, When she stopped me, she then called the other people(all except one who had several items as opposed to my few items). To avoid a scene, I allowed them to go ahead, one of the ladies in front of me even looked at me like it was strange, and said "that manager has bad customer service skills." and asked me if I was in a hurry, and signaled for me to go in front of her. I thanked her but declined, because she only had a few items too. Kaylee decided to rudely w/ a nasty Attitude chime in, I immediately stopped her, and told her not to say anything else, because she was just coming across as I made the decision and that's that!! I will NEVA shop at this Hobby Lobby, and will probably just give my business to Micheal's, the discounts are better also! Nikki was incredibly rude laughing to customers to move up since no one took initiative to tell customers where to go. She was completely rude when I asked a question ignored me. Five star service all around... Stopped. by the Rancho location earlier looking for a specific Christmas tree. Long story short, they didn't have it, and refused to look it up to see which location had it. I'm sorry, to me, that is horrible customer service. Take care of your customers! With that being said, I did my own research and found the Christmas tree at the Upland Hobby Lobby. I called to verify they in fact had it, and drove over to the Upland location. The girls working were so sweet and helpful. They had my tree set aside as it was the last one. Do yourself a favor and bypass the Rancho location and head to Upland. I started the trip badly. Amanda working on the floor walked passed and I asked " Excuse me are there public restrooms here?" To which she replied in a rather rude tone " Of course there are in the back of the stire." My first thought was left middle or right? By then she was long gone! I worked my way to the back of the store and found employees only area, then the time clock location, finally I found the glorious sign for the restrooms! Wait it gets better! There is a code lock on the door! Thanks a bunch Amanda! Thank heavens a sweet worker came by and I asked for the code and she politely gave it to me. Thank you Monica! Just in the nick of time! A very friendly cashier Frida checked me out and was very kind. Even when I had that one last dreaded item with no price. She got the manager and I left happy and lighter in my pocketbook. The store is absolutely amazing! All the staff are very, very friendly. But first, I do my best and try to navigate the store without having to ask so many questions because I do understand they're very very busy. They do not have time to answer my questions like do you have a bathroom? I went looking for it before asking such an obvious question. As so, many customers ask a dumb questions. The Epitome of Quality, Creativity, Service, and "True" Value(s): I have been frequenting this particular Hobby Lobby for over a year now, but had yet to require "Framing Services" until now (since they have always had a wide variety of frames -- and none of my "projects" required anything "special"). That; however, changed -- after my friend and I visited the Getty Center, and she picked out some "prints" of a few of the Paintings we had beheld -- which included the print (itself), and (as part of the packaging) some "matting" -- but no frames. In addition to the originals of the 4 works (whose prints we purchased from the gift shop), we had seen "Christ's Entry into Brussels in 1889" (Ensor) -- a "print" of which the gift shop did NOT have -- possibly because its rectangular dimensions make it MUCH Wider that it is High (i.e., not even CLOSE to the typical 8.5 x 11, or 11 x 17 inch shape / ratios to which our eyes have become so accustomed). This Painting (the original on display at the Getty Center) was of particular significance, because she had been assigned an "Analytical Term Paper" in a High School Art History / Appreciation Class whose topic was that particular work (going through each of the archetypes portrayed in the painting -- and speculating upon which elements of Society in 1888 Brussels were being represented). Therefore, I obtained a "print" of the painting -- but was then faced with the challenge of having it framed to "match" the other 4 (without being "overly" / disproportionately large -- due to the artwork's exaggerated width). That's when / where BRENDEN -- Hobby Lobby Upland's "Frame Shop Manager" -- became my hero!!! Not only, was he able to locate a frame that was the same Height, but a wider Width (than the standard frames for "matted" 8.5 x 11 "prints"); but he also put dust protectors on the backs, adherent "bumps," and a "single wire" to make hanging a breeze. AND -- as if that weren't enough -- he then "shrink wrapped" each piece in clear plastic that gives one a perfect "View" of the painting (through the crystal clear shrink wrap) -- but allows it to remain "Protected" until it is ready to be hung. I still cannot understand how I paid so Little, for so Much Work -- because the cost of the frames themselves (which were high quality "natural wood grain") was somewhere in the $30 range -- meaning I was only charged a small amount of "time," for the amount of craftsmanship I received. Either that or BRENDEN is just an incredibly fast workman. At any rate; Three Cheers for Hobby Lobby Upland -- and Specifically for BRENDEN in the Frame Shop -- for making my holiday gift giving truly amazing and appreciated. read more

Horrendous customer service. I was informed if I brought all frames I purchased next week they are offering a 50% off sale Anselmo will Give price adjustment with receipt and one frame. Came back Saturday before Christmas. They stated we needed to bring all frames back because The UPC code is different. This Was a lie. The frames all had same identical UPC code and I showed Maria, the so-called Store Manager and she stated we don't give price adjustments. I informed her that isn't the point. I received the worst customer service ever today. I went into the store, shopped around, and selected a few items to purchase. Two cash registers were open with long lines. There appeared to be a manager or supervisor at the front of the store by the registers, but she did nothing to assist the cashiers or call for another cashier. Finally, after over 10 minutes of waiting in line, I went to her and asked if she could call someone to open a register. She did, but the cashier had to count his drawer before he could assist anyone, but by that time, I was next in line to finally pay and leave. He took me to his register and processed my order. Before leaving for the store, I stopped to use the restroom, which was the most disgusting restroom I had ever seen. It looked and smelled like it had not been cleaned in days, if not weeks. When I asked for help one of the associates was super friendly and asked me to show her a picture. She led me right to the product but unfortunately for me it was too small! If you time things correctly, you can always catch a great sale here or use a 40% off coupon via the Hobby Lobby app. The staff here is always friendly and they can be found when questions arise. Hours aren't ideal (as they close fairly early and aren't open on Sundays) but this is a well-known fact and fans work around this minor obstacle (and appreciate the positive impact it has on the employees). Why did this gem of a store lose one star from me? I have a hard time justifying the price points of some of their items. While sales and coupons do exists, if you're caught outside the cycle of sales or coupon empty-handed, you're not going to escape high prices for items you place in your cart. For example, floral pieces are at an unreal price point. If you're looking to put together an arrangement, be prepared to pay upwards of $100+ for a decent sized and full product. read more

Saw management on 6/11/22 belittling employee in completely unacceptable way. Not motivating but completely talking down and being extremely snarky. I was walking by the closed registers and overheard this. Also I bought a frame the day before for 50% off and drove all the way out to this store, the manager would not honor this but said to go to a local store to have it adjusted next week. The employees were friendly and helpful but corporate needs to have a hard look at this manager and see if she is the right fit. This review is solely based on the actions of Kim (assuming she's a manager, as she was calling orders over intercom and not doing much to assist with store closing procedures), this location closes at 8pm. We arrived at 7:40pm and were done and out with our purchase by 7:52pm. 8/8/18. For some reason we pulled up to the parking lot at 7:40 and she looks as if she might have been coming back from a break. But for no reason whatsoever she gives us a very dirty look. Sure we are coming in at 7:40, with complete understanding that they are closing at 8. And even during our checkout experience with Jessica, she seemed very disgruntled when she asked for some help to get some change from Kim. Hopefully she was just having a bad day, and isn't like this on the daily but this should be brought up to her, as if you don't like where you work, find a different job. Also lights at this location went dim at 7:50, assuming that Kim is the manager, this sounds like another call by her, just not proper work etiquette. Lights should go dim after closing time, and after the last customer has left the building. Once again this review is solely based on Kim's attitude. I sent an email asking for the tracking number, and the auto response stated that they would get back to me within 48 hours. They did not.
