One of the better Michaels stores out there. This is the Rancho Cucamonga location and the interior is newer and cleaner than most. Parking is easy to get in and out of! It's located within the many shopping plazas within the Foothill street. I'd park in the left side and not in the right side, because you'll be looking for parking against Homegoods shoppers! This location is one of my go to locations because of its endless supply of yarn. They have every yarn you can imagine - acrylic, polyester, wool, cotton, etc. They recently tag teamed with JOAANS so you can find some of their yarn, too. My review stems from the type of workers they have here. As other yelp reviewers have mentioned, the workers here aren't the nicest and they don't hide it. They had a new balloon system incorporated within the past year, and I've stood and watched many customer/worker interactions going sour over the balloons. The interactions aren't the best to hear or watch when you're shopping. Other than the type of service you get here, this Michaels is a well stocked location with your typical prices. This review is specifically for a fabric purchase. I chose several fabrics that seemed to be on sale and took them to their cutting station. Some were remnants, so I took the whole piece. Other bolts had a lot of yards on it, so I asked the lady if she can double check the price for me, because I noticed that a lot of fabric was placed on the shelf in a spot that did not match the price tag and barcode. When I handed her the next bolt and asked her to check, I got a rude reply. "So what, you want me to check all of them?" The disrespectful tone, bothered attitude and "so what" were completely uncalled for. I was polite and did not ask anything crazy. I was in last Friday, 9/18, and wanted to take a moment to honor an employee named Jira. She was working the check out stand alone with a line of people (some not the most patient to put it nicely) and while two other customers were checking out, they experienced issues with the self check out and Jira was kind, friendly and helpful to all. In the process another customer came in out of line to express frustration with their mobile order being incorrect, and Jira's tone and response was so commendable. Location is great. Parking is always always packed and has a lot of customers walking in or out. So be prepared to be take some time to park or at least not run anyone over. During holidays, there is a great selection of items. I love coming to see what they have or even ordering online and doing a pick up. I did take off a star due to lack of employees. I needed assistance in the frames department and had to walk the whole store to find someone. Requested help from someone that was at the front of the store. They said someone was on their way. When I arrived back in frames, we still were waiting of someone to show up. Had a different experience the next day, when I came back for other items I was debating on buying. The employee was very nice and informative. She even looked up the other nearest Michael's to see if they had the items I needed that they didn't have in stock. I did enjoy the self check out. I'm just wandering if it's everyone's new policy to help others that come after the person who was there first. I understand that the guy (Frank) had someone at the register but it's just common courtesy to explain why you are taking someone else before the person who was already standing there. It would have been nice. Not just to ask me why I'm here but to say ma'am I will be right with you after I finish with the customer I have at the register. Then say I can assist the next person on the self check out. This is a great Michael's location! They always have a great selection of yarn to pick from, especially after they brought in some of the Joann stock (may she rest in peace). I also enjoy that Michael's always has good coupons going on either through email or in-store. I also would like to shout out in particular Jira who helped me find the yarn I was looking for the other day for my crochet project!! Outstanding service and I will definitely be coming back to this location next time I need craft supplies. I came in to get some balloons filled up for a baby shower and the lady who did it for me let me down. A girl with a shaved head who had no sense of urgency as she was filling up them up slowly and chit chatting back with another lady in the balloon room. It was just four balloons I needed. Considering the amount of time she took filling them up and chatting, it wasn't even done correctly because she didn't tie them all to the string, I got outside and two flew away. And I didn't buy them from there so they couldn't replace something they didn't sell. I came looking for Halloween merchandise and I left very happy after finding some things I saw online. The customer service was great and I'm glad the workers are helping around and not just breathing down your neck. The prices have gotten a bit higher when in comparison to a few years ago but that's the economy for you. Checkout was speedy using the self checkout, I didn't have to wait in line behind those who don't know how to use a pretty easy and straightforward machine. 10/10 would come back, my only complaint is that they should crank up the air conditioner or turn on some fans because it's hot in California this time of year. read more

Took my teenagers here to look at stickers, markers, and journals. Didn't find anything we really liked, and I noticed hardly anything was on sale. I've been a Michaels shopper for ages and always felt it was such a fun, relaxing, and inspiring place to shop. This time I was disappointed in the high prices, lack of deals, ugly stickers (like the same old s*** they've been selling for decades-- same boring styles), and only a 20% off coupon instead of the old 40-50% off. The florals had some beautiful and interesting choices but mostly everything else is severely lacking in style and character. I'm sure this isn't the fault of this particular location-- it's just the way the company is run by those in charge. They need to get rid of the old regime and hire some fresh, creative minds who have insight into current and up-and-coming arts & crafts trends, seriously. This Michaels is always stocked full of crafts and D.I.Y. items and is open 7 days a week! Since quarantine began I've never noticed a line to get in to this store and there are employees at the front tracking the number of people that enter the store. My recent visit, I was looking for Valentine's decorations and stumbled across the black history month craft section which I thought was cool! Not sure if Hobby Lobby carries these, but kudos to Michaels for coming out with this. They have everything from papers to wood matérias to canvas and art supply even baking supplies, decorations for any season, is wall to wall of cool stuff, quite fun to spend time and look at all the isles. The morning manager today was rude! The one employee in the front had to be a cashier and he assisted me with the lock up gate for a Cricut needle and he also had to answer the phones. So he left me looking for the needle because he needed to answer the phone and he was the only one apparently working then the manager comes out telling him why he left me unattended he's on the phone, she could of came and asked if I needed help but no instead she was telling his stuff and making it seem as if I was going to steal something. He gets off the phone and explains to her why. She was rude to him and me then she has the nerve to insult him and be rude to him in front of customers. At this point I am livid. How dare she make customers feel that way, how dare she be extremely rude to the employee that is juggling it all while she walks her ass back to the office. And she's management!! I would give this store 0 stars if I could because of the horrible customer service. One of the employees rudely yelled at my son that he couldn't bounce balls in the store. This is utterly ridiculous because every store with kids toys should realize children are going to want to play with them. I told the employee (a black male I didn't catch his name though) to chill out and my son was just testing the ball out to see if he wanted to buy it. This employee then gave me attitude and rolled his eyes! I'm so fed up with this Michaels. They seriously can't process online orders. When I went to pick my yarn up I got a returned ball with masking tape on it. I don't care so much it was returned but the tape ruined the yarn a bit, yanking at the fibers. I made my blanket anyway but when I ran out of yarn I ran to joann for another ball. Same brand, same name, same number. I know joann didn't mess up because their ball was wrapped and new. Looking closely at the fibers you can tell it was the wrong brand. It looks like a Caron one pound, not lion brand. I've given the employees so many chances but I guess labeling and reading numbers is too hard. I can't wait for this to be over so I can shop for my own yarn. This, along with the horrendous wait lines I mentioned prior, is ridiculous and this michaels needs to shape up big time. read more

Customer service is a mix. There was a lady who was helpful to me and other customers. On the other hand, after I finished self check out, paying for my big organizers, the young lady told me I can't use the cart to carry it to my car. I have to use (next door) Home Goods cart. I'm a petit person here. She didn't even bother to help me and just stand there making sure I don't take her precious cart outside the store. My daughter's college diploma arrived! Both the envelope & diploma were torn in the bottom left corner. The University charges $50 to replace diplomas. Michaels covered the rip with a blue mat, framed it, & attached the hanging wire for about $46! I am so pleased with the service I received from start to finish at the Michaels Framing Department! I explained the problem, they gave me options, and even gave me a super-reasonable price for the frame & assembly. (Getting diplomas framed at the university bookstore is costly!) I did not get the frame I paid for $215.28 my painting was wrapped and ready for me to pick up. When, I noticed it was the same frame I asked to speak to the manager for a refund and she was more concerned about who made the mistake. She said, the male manager that works in the framing department is gone for the day and she couldn't give me a refund. I called the corporate office case #07266028. I've been to this Michael's a few times. The last few times the customer service has been less than stellar. I asked Daniela, a customer service worker, about an item I had a hard time finding. Cheese cloth. She told me what aisle. I asked her to help me find it. She did. But then I asked her if it was food grade, she said no. I went online and found out that it was food grade. Then I got it priced matched begrudgingly by another customer service worker. I think she might have been the manager. I saw it online for a dollar less. But she was annoyed. Seriously? Lastly, I noticed that my 25% off coupon wasn't honored due to the price change. The coupon included all sales items. I went back to ask about it. Daniela once again tried to "help me" and I told her that she needs to work on her customer service skills since she was interjecting herself when I was dealing with the clerk at the counter. First, let me start off with I love how close this place was to the school my child attends! Now let's get into the nitty gritty shall we! I went there for some crafts like other people do when they walk into this place. Somehow I think I looked like I wanted to steal from the store at 10AM because they were on me! There was a specific worker I kept hearing around me because her keys would jingle. Stopped in tonight to grab some crafts for my upcoming wedding. I ran in about an hour before they closed and although it was a little tough to find someone to help me at first, I eventually ran across an employee who grabbed her pricing gun to help me located what I was looking for. Michael's has done a great job rebranding themselves and increasing / modifying their inventory. They have a lot more home decor in a variety of styles. I like this store. It's clean, and pretty organized. Smaller than other Michael's locations in larger cities. Immediately walking in, I was greeted by their amazing Halloween decor. Oh, I'm such a sucka for skulls and apothecary jars! I actually did not come for decorations. I came specifically to buy cake decorating tools. They pretty much had it all; cake pans with straight sides (in ALL sizes), every piping tip possible, disposable piping bags, cake turn table stands, etc. One thing I really needed was a metal spatula - they did not have any of these :( I almost contemplated going into the clay/paint tools to buy an offset spatula there... but it would have been too small. This is the first Michael's that has NOT had these important tools so minus one star. Thank goodness Hobby Lobby was directly across the street. I only saw two employees in the whole store. One lady who tried helping find the spatulas, and one at the register. I wish I could have made this a one stop shop. But I like Michael's in general. They always have the 40% off one item coupon available online. Which was super helpful in saving cash when I needed to buy that $30 cake decorating stand. read more
