This sewing supply store has a large and very reasonable priced selection of good. I found zippers for a dollar, good quality embroidery needles for two and lots of things I had really needed to finish several projects I had in progress. They also repair all types of sewing machines and sell restored machines at a very good price. The customer service I received was excellent. I wanted to learn sewing and needed some fabrics. The owners gave great recommendations for what fabrics to start out with and how to buy them in terms of costs and amount. The fabrics are cheaper than the big name chained stores, and even if it wasn't, the friendly nature of the shopkeeprs will have me come back. There was a wide variety of selections of fabrics, along with any sewing accessories. I will definitely be coming back in order to get more fabrics in the future for other projects! read more

I absolutely LOVE Mylee Sewing and Fabrics. Their prices are fantastic, and truly can't be beat! The selection is good, too! I think the variety of fabrics is good enough that I can find something beautiful for anything I plan to make, and the only comment I would make is that it is a little far from my house. But I will travel the 17 miles one way just to save several dollars over what is available in my area. I NEVER buy fabric in a big box chain store any more, because the prices are exorbitant there, and the quality is exactly the same! I have paid one-third as much at Mylee in comparison to "that other retailer," and the ladies who own and work there are so nice and not grouches like the people who work at the big box stores. This is an amazing joint! I don't even know why people would go to Joannes other than getting licensed materials. For example MLB, NFL, Disney, etc. They have everything you need for a super fraction of the price anywhere else. It's family owned and I normally see the mother and daughter. I love coming here because they always have everything that I need and their prices are awesome. Being someone that's pretty frugal I have no problem coming here and Purchasing items because I know it's going directly to a small business family and their prices are not outrageous like other places. I have been here many times...it's actually been a while since I've been here but all I can say are great things about Mylee. They are friendly and have a great selection. If you are looking for a great assortment of fabric I highly recommend this gem. I live in Rancho, which isn't too far, but I usually prefer to come here over major chain stores that are closer. I came here for the first time in 2009-2010 when I was taking classes at Mt. SAC. You can find all you need here for your classes...since I don't have classes anymore I have been in here a few times...but when I do I always enjoy strolling through the aisles. read more

This place is my favorite sewing shop in California! Amazing prices and a great selection. I've been shopping here since I first started sewing and have continued to shop here even after I moved farther away from Pomona. The staff is super helpful and they have great sewing supplies including patternmaking supplies that places like Jo-Ann don't sell. They also do sewing machine service and will be up-front with you if a problem is fixable or if you just need to buy a new machine. I highly recommend checking this place out. Make sure to call before stopping by as sometimes the hours may change unexpectedly (a small price to pay for getting to support a local business). read more

I came here as an alternative to Joann and I was pleasantly surprised. There was a large selection of fabrics and plenty of other supplies that one would need. It was like going to the fashion district in LA without the drive. There was only one person working but she was so kind and upbeat that I didn't mind waiting for my turn. Mylee's is my top secret place to go for sewing supplies and fabrics. If it wasn't for the fact I adore the owner and family, I'd be keeping this secret to myself. Many times they have fabric and notions I can't find in the Garment District. First off if you think you're going to JoAnn's spacious bright stores-- guess again. This is a true fabric store that caters to the Trade, fashion students and costumer with a loyal following. Translation: You are going to need to know what you want, have an idea how much you need and be willing to hunt through hundreds of bolts for it. No one is going to babysit you. So come dressed comfortable and do not be in a hurry or you'll miss all the fun. This store is packed with a treasure trove of fabrics and notions of all kinds and prices that are equal to the Garment District. There are deals on fabrics you can't find anywhere, like ---- and ----. (Think I'd tell you? No! I'm not giving away all my secrets! Go look for yourself!) The only area they lack a selection is quilting cottons, which isn't a downside to me. There are several other local quilt stores you can shop. Customer Service is great. If you need help wrestling around or digging out a bolt in the back of the rack, find a package of hooks or notions, ribbon or pattern making tools-- if you're willing to wait, they're more than willing to help. Cuts are very generous and they look out for any flaws and help out. All in all you can't miss if you seriously sew or are fabricating anything from a basic muslin, bridal or cocktail dress, to a slipcover or drapes. There is a great selection of zippers in styles, colors and lengths are wonderful. Their tool selection will save you money and a trip into LA. There are serious bargains everywhere if you know your prices-- The only pain is the parking-- there are a few tight spaces out front and some can be claimed along the side of the building. It is seriously within 2 miles of my home for 20 years and yet I never drive on Holt because of the traffic. 90% of the time I drive to downtown L.A. A great place to find a variety of garment fabrics. The store is organized by color and fabric type. They also have a variety of notions and supplies, ribbons, elastics, zippers, beads, seam binding...anything a garments sewer's heart could desire. Most fabrics were under 10 dollars as well, silks, satins, jerseys, cottons, linens, wool blends, chiffon, organza, denim, lace, rayons, sequin, etc. The majority of fabrics were on bolts from 54-60" as well. They also have some quilting supplies there but not as many fabrics, which is okay with me because I'm more of a garment sewer, but if you're looking for affordable supplies, this is the place! Parking can be a little difficult and it is a bit hard to find on a street with so many little shops, but just look for macho pollo and an iron fence and you'll find it. Have been here couple of times in the past few years. I would recommend checking this place out before heading out to LA or Joann's. In my opinion, they have a lot of knit materials, but if you are looking for quilting fabrics, they don't have too many cute prints. I have also service my sewing machine here because my needle keep breaking, and the lady said because I was using the wrong needle. I didn't have any problems after the service and purchasing the needles from them (10 needles for $4, how can you beat that). They sell almost anything you need for sewing/crafting (interfacing, bias tape, trimming, tools, zippers, threads...etc) The parking lot is very oddly lay out, can only fit 4 car, but street parking is easy. I recently found out they are on Etsy and I'm very happy that they were able to take their business to the next level and provide their product to online community. read more

They had a decent selection of various Knits but if you needed to know fabric content percentages you're out of luck. I was told straight out they did not have the cotton Lycra I was looking for but they do have 100% cotton and various blends. Their trims were individually packaged instead of on rolls but they do carry a small variety of fold over elastic, plush elastic and strap elastic as well as stretch lace. read more
