My friend and I visited Casa de Tela a few weeks ago and were floored by how kind and helpful the owner was! He gave us amazing prices for the fabric and notions we chose. My friend said that the shop appears to be a little smaller than fabric stores in downtown LA's fashion district, but there were still plenty of choices available. I've been on the hunt for new fabric ever since I bought some dining chairs at an estate sale last year. They had a hideous purple velvet fabric that I hated and the cushions had seen better days. I'm so glad that I didn't just go with one of the numerous samples from multiple stores that I visited. I had seen Casa De Tela on Yelp with great reviews, but I wasn't able to make it there during the posted hours. Finally, I took an afternoon off of work and checked them out and I'm so glad I did. Not only do they have a fantastic selection, but the prices are extremely reasonable. While I was there, I talked to the owner about what I was doing and how much fabric I would need, which was lucky. He asked me a few questions then showed me the work they were doing on a similar order. For $35/chair including the fabric, I couldn't complain. That's a fantastic deal. Then he told me they could have a 24-hour turnaround on six chairs. Yes, please! I took a few samples home that day to check the colors and I dropped the chairs off the next day. My husband picked them up the following day and we were both so happy with them. New fabric, new cushions and support--they're like completely new chairs!! If you're looking for fabric for a new project or maybe want a little help on one, I'd definitely recommend stopping by Casa De Tela. They're fantastic! read more

The owner has been in business many years, its conveniently located near Costco Montclair ca, he has tons of designer fabrics for hardly anything, lots of natural fibers such as silk, linen and really good cottons, lots and lots of fancy sequined fabrics and much upholstery/drapery fabrics. You'll have to hunt in the right section as he is helpful but won't push or ask questions. It seems very chaotic but the fabrics are grouped by kind and it's fun to look! I purchased designer linen that was $90 a year for just 12 and silk/ linen fabric for just $7 a yard. I go back every once in a while for his new stuff or what I overlooked. read more

DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES FROM THERE!!!!! They have an appliance store in the back, my mother in law bought me a fridge for our new home worked for one day then stopped cooling. We called Jorge Bravo the "owner" to see what we can do since we have a 90 day warranty. He said he would come and check it out flaked on us 3 times until I got a little persistent. Finally went on a Saturday filled it with Freon and it still didn't work. We called him and offered to pay for a different fridge to be delivered this Saturday Nov 11th when I called him on Friday Nov 10th to confirm the exchange he said he had to move locations and was having to reschedule to Sunday but he didn't know if the fridge he had would work, so your going to deliver a random fridge on Sunday without even knowing it works? how would he guarantee that one will work? My husband and I decided to bring it back to him and get our money back upon arrival we saw a warehouse in the back of the "Casa de Telas" full of fridges!! You're going to tell me none of those worked for an exchange?!! he tried to charge us $20 for delivery when we delivered it to him from Hesperia!! We have read the reviews from his previous stores and they are horrible!! What. A. Find. On my way to find a favorite sewing supply shop, I turned my head as I was driving and I couldn't help but notice this shop out of the corner of my eye. I made the U-turn and stumble into Candyland. The shop owner Luis was an absolute angel as he walked me through the selection of his fabrics and trims, making sure that there was absolutely no way that I would ever forget this place. His prices are OUTSTANDING and he made it clear several times that he gets new bolts regularly so there's always a fresh variety. He also has beautiful interior and exterior fabrics for home and patio. I bought so much, Luis had to carry it all out for me! Woohoo! I was looking for upholstery material and found this place on yelp. The store was big with lots of selection of textiles. I needed a foam for a bench I was making, the owner was very helpful and just asked me the measurement of the foam that I needed. He cut the material in front of me and I even asked for recommendations for my project. When I was paying for the stuff that I bought, I was shocked because the price was inexpensive. You have the option to pay cash or card in the store. Would definitely go back to this place for future projects. read more
