Dayna spent every moment til the closing minutes finding frames, options for matte, ways to customize, etc. with a great attitude and I could tell really she really cared. Being an artist sponsored by many of the brands this store carries, even my teams would have been pleased to see such a young individual step up and take care of business with a smile. Update: I've received no contact back from the corporate number that assured me I would recieve follow up. They do not care about the humiliation I was put through in their store and turns out I'm not the only one Carol has done this too. She needs to stop accusing people who have done nothing wrong. Do not shop here. Unprofessional management behavior (Carol, middle aged blond woman hair around chin length) and you will be humiliated for just coming into the store it seems. I will explain if you read on but I repeat do not shop here. My boyfriend and I went into this location as we have many times before and had the worst experience due to their manager whose name was Carol. My boyfriend had barely had time to walk in the door and over to the paint section before Carol was right in his face practically yelling "is there something I can help you with?" To which my boyfriend replied he literally had barely walked in the door and he was fine. I made a comment as to why she needed to yell, put down the casting resin I had been reading the package for and walked towards the pen section which was a ways away in the store. I barely had time to reach down and grab a pen before Carol came up to me and proceeded to then ask if I needed help. I told her she already asked me that and she said "actually I asked your friend." And I asked "is there a reason why you are gonna just follow me around the store?" Because instead of walking away after our interaction she pretended to be adjusting things on the shelf literally right next to me didn't even step away from me at all. At this point I told my boyfriend I was leaving and wouldn't be shopping in this store anymore due to her blatantly (what I'm assuming was profiling me but not sure what for as I was dressed nice and didn't have some huge bag on me). I went to the front of the store and asked the cashier if there was any other manager besides Carol on duty. Then here comes Carol again and she proceeded to tell me the customer service number and then had the audacity to ask me if I was going to "return the product" she knew I had in my purse. To which I laughed and immediately held my purse open and out for her to inspect . She looked into it refused to even touch it and upon seeing nothing she proceeded to tell me her employee has apparently SEEN me place an item in my purse and I said really well then where is it? And tried to thrust my purse at her again to which another employee stated she saw me put the casting resin in my purse when I had put it back where I had gotten it from. I proceeded to ask them if they bothered looking at the damn shelf where I had left it? Or maybe checked their cameras before making offensive assumptions that are not only false but incredibly humiliating when I had done no such thing. I'm not sure what me and my boyfriend did within 60 seconds of walking in that made this woman decide to target me and ruin my shopping experience, but she has no management experience or she would have known that if she didn't see it she shouldn't accuse a paying customer. . I'm also not sure why they employ people who are so outrageous they are going to openly LIE and say they saw me put something in my purse that was impossible as I hadn't. She barely uttered a I'm sorry (nothing more, no sincerity even, she still has the most smug self righteous look on her face) it almost seemed as if her and the other employee who lied were expecting me to have it hidden somewhere on me still and that they didn't believe it even when I thrust my purse at them which they refused to inspect. I used to regularly shop in this store and now after this experience where I was mistreated and disrespected in front of not only customers but what seemed to be their whole staff I won't be shopping here as long as Carol and her terrible behavior as a manager is still employed. This is for the framing department I had two of my pieces that I brought back from a class in Italy for framing . When I came to pick up there was a huge crease in the middle of both framed oils. They tried to make it seem like it was my fault that the creases where always there . I would have noticed and actually never had framed them . My husband also did not see a crease when we had them out in the store picking out matts for final consultation before handing them over. Very disappointed to take the extra time to bring all the way home and have someone totally ruin them . Oh ..and then frame them . Never again . No masks, no distancing, extremely crowded, my items were not in the locations (aisle) Michael's website said they were. I gave up and ordered from another online retailer. Michael's is not worth the risk of infection from scouring a crowded store for an item during a pandemic when other customers take little to no precautions and don't respect efforts to distance. With all the businesses suffering during the pandemic it's disturbing to see Michael's flouting the rules. If you're wondering why EVERYONE has had to shut down? It's because stores like Michaels don't adhere to state and county guidelines (especially capacity limitations) and businesses earnestly complying with public health and safety rules are paying the price. read more

Holy power trip. I asked a manager for assistance finding 2 items. He walked with me to 1 of the items and then told me where the other one was. No problem with that. He then tells me that he's the manager and is needed at the front of the store and he'll be right back. I watch him walk 2 aisles over and then back to another aisle and began handling the merchandise. Weird. He never came back either. I'm then at the register buying my items and I have a few discount coupons. I didn't realize that only 1 could be used per transaction. The team member at the register calls the manager over for approval to use more than 1. The same manager from above comes over and refuses to do so and tells me that if I want to use more than one that day, that I'll need to get back in line after each purchase to use the other coupons. The team member and I share a look after the manager walks away. The team member tells me he's not going to make me do that and helps me out. Upper management needs to train this manager in customer service. He's a very poor representation of Michaels read more

However, practice makes perfect and I'm nothing close to perfect thus the reason why I often visit to remake homemade projects. This store has about anything you can ever imagine for crafts!! Also they have art classes for little ones or private classes! While this is a box store it is very community involved and offers a wonderful learning experience of arts and crafts for children and adults. read more

If you dont need anything other then the usual stuff, and you dont need any kind of assistance, this is the Michael's for you. Otherwise no one seems to be very helpful. Or even care about someone's time. I needed a canvas to be framed, waited about 20minutes for the worker to even acknowledge my presents (she was helping someone else and THAT person said something to her about me standing there, before she even did) anyways, she called for help, for someone to help me.... no one came. 10mins after she requested help, someone called her back and she denied help, said she was almost done. Well she wasnt. I waited over 30minutes to get helped, and my order took 5 minutes. Told it would be ready in 2 days. It's been 5 and I haven't recieved any calls. As we were walking in the store with a large piece of art to be framed, a framer was just heading out to go home for the night. However, she put her coat down and spent over 45 minutes working with us to select the perfect mat and frame for our unique art work. I was very impressed with her skill level and professionalism. They have tons of scrapbooking items, from religious stamps to stickers of various locales. They even have hipster coloring books. They have an excellent Christmas section. Was so excited to finally have a Michaels near me but yea that did not last long. This store has stocked mostly yarn and scrap book items. Alot of kids stuff. I rarely find the clay I need or the thicker foam sheets. Most the time there is no customer service or you get sorry we don't carry that but Vallejo does. 80% of the time I have to make the trip to Vallejo just to get what I need whats the purpose of having a craft store in town. A lot of the display cases here are locked up which would be fine if they had some people on the floor to help customers out but any help is hard to come by. When I asked where something was all I got back was a cold "aisle 6" reply back rather than any personalized assistance. Michaels has a lot of useful things and I'd certainly choose to shop here over another big box like Hobby Lobby but the service here is lacking. I had a problem with something of mine getting re-framed correctly in a timely manner. The first effort wasn't up to par. I called the store this morning and the manager took care of the issue immediately. I don't know if, in the end, the framing will be perfect - it's a tricky piece of art, but I'm leaving five stars for the manager for being absolutely on her game - I'm really impressed. I've been shopping at this store daily for things we need for our new home and have been delighted by the sale prices on storage baskets and photo frames. I've had art framed here in the past that was happy with the result. I'm impressed with how friendly and helpful staff have been in general. Sometimes the lines are held up. At this point, a person always says, "Sorry for the wait." Little things like that, in this crazy not-very-personal world, make all the difference and are deeply appreciated. read more
