This location has minimal selection on products and seems dead every time I come in. The workers that I've encountered are RUDE and seem to only be there to collect a paycheck. I approached a worker who was stocking stamps on the shelves. I asked her if she had a certain item and without even turning to look at me even once, she just replied with one word - "no", and kept working. I mean, I get it, you're focused on stocking, but come on, at least turn to acknowledge me in the face or say something more like "no, I'm sorry we don't. I can call another store to check for you" nothing. So when it came time to pay at the register, the cashier and another employee were so caught up with a personal conversation about getting a job as a phlebotomist that she didn't even say one word to me while I was standing there paying. From the outside its a pretty old looking Michaels, and it's the same on the inside. But for being as old as it is, they had a nice selection of stuff. We were there about 30 minutes before they closed, and the staff was still letting people in 5 minutes before closing, great staff. read more

This is a review for customer service only. It does not reflect the product selections nor the cleanliness of the store. First and foremost, if you work in customer service, your job is to do that, service the customer. We, family and I, went in yesterday 10/26/2019, to look for paint for our pumpkins. Before anything, I was walking through the isles, I was rudely cut off by a worker who looked as though she was picking up items not in their correct place. I didn't think much of it but I thought to myself how rude of a worker to nearly hit me with her cart and did not acknowledge me or what she almost did. We found what was needed for the most part right away. However, my fiancé needed a Deco paint marker, which was difficult to find, so he asked a woman named LISA (older white woman with blonde blonde hair & SAME woman to cut me off.) He simply asked her if they carried Deco paint markers and spelled it as he was not sure if she knew what he was talking about. Apparently, she knows how to spell the name, as she clearly & RUDELY responded to him saying "I know how to spell it!" For one, even if you know how to spell something, that is NOT how you respond to anyone. Period. It appears we are not the first to have issues with this woman and apparently nothing has changed or management doesn't look into their Yelp Reviews. Nonetheless, he did not respond back as he normally would've. We purchased our items and went on our way. Please management TRAIN your employees on how to treat your customers as with online shopping and other competition, you need all the people in the store you can get who are going to purchase and keep coming back. I am disappointed with their customer service. I called to inquire about an acrylic painting class. I was referred to their website which does not clearly list the classes being offered. I can't find the syllabus to know what to bring. I think they expect me to buy everything. Very disorganized. read more

Extremely cluttered. They either need a bigger store or less stuff. Plus the aisles are very narrow (especially toward the front) and if you come down the wrong aisle don't assume you can go to that cash register that is right in front of you. I waited for ten minutes for the woman in front of me to finish her returns and buy her other stuff, until the cashier looked at me. She pointed to an area that was hidden behind more stuff and said there was one line only, that started over there. Sure enough, I got to that area to stand in line and did see a sign that said that. Only problem is, you have to be standing at that line, your SUPPOSE to be standing in to see the sign. Otherwise there are so many displays etc. there is no way to see it. So I waited some more. The cashiers were pleasant enough. I almost feel sorry for them (hence the two stars instead of one) as there were a number of irate customers because it was very slow. read more

Very unprofessional: First of all, I was in an area looking at items that was taking me a long time, as I had to really concentrate on colors, size, etc. There was a Michael's employee there THE WHOLE TIME, "pretending" to stock the sheves there. That is VERY unprofessional. She should have come back later, AFTER making sure I did not need her help, and SHE WAS IN THE WAY the whole time, I had to keep ASKING PERMISSION to look at items she was "blocking". Secondly, they had a lady DRY MOPPING THE FLOOR !!! This was at 6:00 pm, and EVERY aisle I was in ... THERE SHE WAS!!! AGAIN, very unprofessional! She even asked me to MOVE one time, becaue I WAS IN HER WAY!!! WHY would a store need to CLEAN while customers are THERE? There were plenty of other aisles she could have gone through, without customers' presence. THEN, about 10 minutes latere ... there was a man who went down the aisles with a FLOOR CLEANING MACHINE! REALLY!!! Not only was it LOUD, but it was VERY disturbing. NOT an atmosphere I like to shop in. Lastly, the cashier was very RUDE when she asked me if I was in line, prior to her helping me (there was about 10 people in line for about 5 minutes, PRIOR to them realizing they needed to open another register!), so apparently she ASSUMED I was "cutting" in line. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Even IF she THOUGHT i was "cutting", for her to come out and ASK ME, well, THAT WAS RUDE! (besides that, normally, customers will take care of each other, and POLITELY inform other unaware customers that "there is a line" ... ) ALL THIS is not even to mention their very lacking stock of items. I went into Michael's looking for a frame for a nice but inexpensive print that I bought online. And I waited 30 minutes as the gentleman was helping a lady but I had a dentist appointment and had to return. I showed my print to the gentleman and explained it was only a $30 print but I wanted a frame, and he worked up a price for me using an inexpensive molding to keep the cost down. Maybe I missed the joke but his estimate including 70% off was $850, about $820 more than the print. I don't believe Michael's wants to stay in business in La Verne any longer. read more

I like this store overall, and the customer service in general is good. However I do not recommend the framing service. Other than being insanely expensive, even at 40% off, the people there are not Aaron Bros employees even though the name is on the wall above the framing section. An employee named Benny priced matting for me, for a 12"x12" frame I chose in the store. He told me each custom mat would be $45! I verified that he meant EACH, not all together. I needed 4 so did not purchase. The next day I returned for something and checked back--there was a gal there (sorry I forgot her name) with red hair who was very nice. I asked her for the same service and she priced the mat at $8 a piece!!! I said, "Sold!" and placed the order. (I told her about the $45 price I had been given and she was surprised and unhappy.) However when I went to pick them up they were cut wrong and had to be redone. The re-do was done that day (good for them) but when I returned again, Benny was back. I got my mats and told him about his price vs the price I actually paid. He just shrugged and said that was the total for everything. Well $8 x 4 isn't $45, even with tax!! I said, "No, you told me $45 for EACH mat!" He had nothing to say, not even an apology. Then when I got home to put my pictures together, the mat was too large and I had to cut the edges to make them fit. Can't recommend the framing service overall, but if you go, watch out for Benny!! read more

Very disappointed in the lack of customer service displayed here. Came in looking for a certain craft item. Perused the store twice, in search of an employee for assistance. No one in sight. Decided to make one more lap and encountered a employee who attempted to fly past me. I asked her if there was someone available to help me as I had a question, to which she replied, "They're all in the "frames department, back there" as she motioned behind her. Then I heard her get on her little ear piece and say she was going to lunch. So, she didn't have time to assist me because she was going to lunch, apparently. So, reluctantly I make my way back to the frame area only to find a woman behind the counter with a look of disgust on her face and two customers waiting to be helped. She did not acknowledge my presence. Not even a "I'll be right with you". Nothing. Decided that I as a customer am not valued and therefore will give my business elsewhere. Please, Michaels teach your employees basic customer service skills! read more

Although he was stingy with offering up any coupons (ethically he couldn't- I get that.) we became fast friends as I downloaded my Michael's app and held up the line in the process. I officially made hobby lobby my favorite crafts supplies store... Came here to get envelope sealers (the little sticker ones) I couldn't find them in the sticker sections... Ok then I asked one of the employes and he told us where they have them, they had nothing where he said they're supposed to be. So they don't have envelope sealers at all or what? read more

Hard to fine help when I need it. Or even worst people who know anything about certain products. I went to but easel and it took forever. HORRIBLE OVER THE PHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I called an asked if they had a "SPECIFIC" item. I asked if they had a certain brand of paint marker (DeccoColor) and the employee said she would take a look but instead handed the phone over to someone else. So then I asked her "I wanted to know if you have a 'SPECIFIC' item in stock?" "Sure what are you looking for for?" "There CALLLED DeccoColor paint markers." She then responded yes that she had those. I went down there and I was kindly directed to where the paint markers are, yet what I asked for over the phone wasn't there. WASTE OF TIME. WASTE OF GAS. my wife went here today and the evil women (i think she was a women i'm not sure due to its appearence) would not let my wife use the rest room because the store was not open for another 30 seconds not minutes but seconds. my wife is 9 months pregnant and needed to go. shame on them. they have some cool stuff but their customer service sucks. the laverne location employees are rude. i will never shop here again. they can go out of business as far as i am concerned. read more
