Most amazing pizza I've had lately, staff was super good. I'd give a five on a rating.

Ambiance is beachy It's an order at the counter type of place. They call your number to pick up the food. Staff were nothing noteworthy as they were solely behind the counter. Got the garlic knots (average with a slightly unique taste), mozzarella sticks (below average), and cheese pizza (7.2/10) after a long drive. It's a nostalgic place for my SO's family so we will come back, but may not be the best place for pizza on the island read more

Visited last year and thought maybe I just had bad timing. Came back this year and realized, nope...this place is not it at all! I've had pizza, sub and stromboli. Pizza is super greasy, sub was okay and stromboli crust was so hard I couldn't even cut it with a knife! Over-priced at best, I recommend going to another spot if pizza is on your mind. Staff was not friendly at all when I asked if they could take something off my stromboli...if it is on the sign, I guess that is the only way that you get served! This was definitely not the MichaelAngelos that I have in Wilmington. I called to place my order and unordered a small cheese pizza and a chef salad. After I paid online I asked for an extra ranch because I forgot. He told me that he would have to rerun my card. I said that he didn't have to then. I was expecting homemade ranch if you are going to charge for it. The driver showed up with my pizza and salad. I opened the bag and there was no dressing at all! I called back and told them that I needed ranch for my salad. They brought it about 25 minutes later. It was a packet of really gross ranch. The chef salad was pitiful. Iceberg lettuce, some meat and some tomatoes and cheese.. No onions, croutons, or olives, etc. and it was small. The pizza was just average. Nothing special at all. Called ahead and then stopped in for pick up and although they could pull up my order up to pay for it, my food order got lost. Young teens working the registers asked the manager to offer me a discount or free dessert for the additional wait, and he very rudely said no and yelled at the poor girl, that he was working on the order. First let me say it Thanksgiving holiday weekend on Emerald Isle when we were there .we went out a couple days before the holiday for the pizza dinner. The service professional and staffed was friendly and courteous. The pizza was OK nothing outstanding, but I would try it again. read more

Whenever we visit the island we always get take out from here at least once. I do not believe we have ever had a bad meal. Sometimes the wait times are long however, that is usually due to high volume!! If you're not in the mood for seafood and craving pizza, this is a good option! read more

I'm shocked at the overall low rating for Michaelangleo's; I take Yelp reviews pretty seriously when trying to decide where to eat and almost skipped this place based on what I saw- so glad I didn't. Placed an order online during the super-busy Saturday evening of Memorial Day weekend and of course the restaurant was packed when I went in to pick it up. The staff was friendly, my food was ready when I arrived, and everything we got (two different pizzas, a sub, and mozz sticks) were piping hot and delicious. This place gets a bum rap that I don't think it deserves. We've ordered from there three times and always enjoyed the pizza. Delivery on the weekend during the summer when everyone is moving in and ordering is insane with 1-2 hour waits. Maybe that's why there are complaints but I think that's unfair. A bit annoying that they often accidentally hang up on me, but if you order for pickup it's way faster and more fresh. Highly recommend pick up! My wife is pizza picky and from south Jersey where there is some seriously great pizza. And she likes this place. Fries are fine too. My only complaint is they don't allow for substitutions for calzones (ham, mozz, and ricotta) or stromboli (pepperoni, sausage, mushroom I think) which is odd and doesn't speak well of the freshness. But the pizza is really solid. Slightly doughier than maybe is ideal but good. Good pizza. read more

Everything was done in 15 minutes, but when we returned home we were left with three cheese pizzas sans any topping we had ordered, via the app. We returned to explain the problem and we're met with obstruction, irritation, and generally poor customer service. Delivery took an hour and a half (vs. an hour delivery time), which doesn't work with 3 hangry kids. Pizza, fries and fried pickles were delivered cold and soggy. Gluten free pizza was the worst I've had (and I've been gluten free for 10 years). $14 for cold cardboard (see photo) with very little substance is absurd. I get it. COVID is tough on every business. But taking 90+ minutes to deliver cold food without a phone call giving us a heads up or giving us an option to pickup (we're 5min drive away) is unacceptable. I would not recommend to anyone. Our first night in Emerald Isle the girls chose pizza for dinner. We chose this place and it delivered!! Both physically and tastelly!!! Yep I made up a word. LOL. Every year we vacation here and always loved getting pizza from this location. We had ordered 70$ worth of pizza tonight and when picking up the pizza and trying to grab plates, we were scolded in a very unprofessional way for reaching to get plates that are on the counter next to us. The guy counting the cashier drawer not only rudely said don't grab the plates, but proceeded to grab them for us with his dirty hands that was also just counting cash as well as covered in who knows what. My family and I have come to Emerald Isle for more years that I can remember now. We always have essential places we eat out at and love to keep coming back to. Michaelangelo's used to be one. We called in an order and the sweetest lady started taking our delivery order. She couldn't find the address so she had a man in the background begin to berate her for not being able to find it. After she seemed to have found it after several minutes on hold we started working on the order. I unfortunately reached the end of my patience after we started down the list and having being stopped at each item as if we were purchasing international plane tickets. I decided it would be easier to visit the store since it's not too far from our house. The second I stepped foot into the restaurant I began rethinking my decision for our dinner plans. A gruff woman eye balled me as if I were a rotten fish off the pier and then asked if she can help me, such a warm welcome. I began the order and arrived to the marina quantity. We have a large family and everyone enjoys extra marinara of course. I requested 15 and was told that was "wow a lot" with an eye roll to accompany the facial contortion. Behind the counter a man was rather aggressively fussing at the kitchen staff and another at the stove yelling at a younger man for not labeling sandwiches accurately. To wrap this up I will say our family is beyond disappointed with how this corner stone restaurant has turned to a sour excuse of a pizza joint. Significant improvement needs to be made to the treatment of their staff, customers and attention to detail.
