The food was very good. I had the Buffalo Wing Sauce Pizza and my friend had the Chicken Marsala - both were delicious. Our server was very attentive and we didn't have to call him once to fill our glasses. We didn't feel ignored nor hurried. Great food. Great place. Great service! Maybe this place could be considered good in the food desert of the Bronx but seriously incredibly overpriced crappy Italian food. An $8 bowl of soup that tasted like a canned salty mess. Olive Garden is better Italian food. Had the Arugula salad...dressing was gross, rotten salad pieces, store bought grated poor quality cheese dumped on top with a few onions and tomatoes. Seriously by the Bronx standard this is decent food but that's not an excuse to serve this crap and charge Manhattan prices for below mediocre quality deli food. read more

I'm not in the area too often so tonight when I was I decided to stop in and grab an order of their rice balls for take out. That's when the unthinkable happened; they told me no. What restaurant refuses a polite, paying customer service? They claimed an ongoing party was the reason they could not accommodate my request. I could understand asking for a surf and turf special, but I asked for something that's simply thrown in a bag. After visiting this restaurant three times, I would highly recommend the margherita pizza! Compared to other pizza places on Arthur Ave and in the Fordham neighborhood, this pie is amazing! Crust is a perfect consistency and mozzarella is very fresh. At my first visit, I tried the chicken parmigiana and was not thoroughly impressed, but the past two times I have ordered the pizza and have not been disappointed. Not too small but not too large, it should be enough to fill one person or serve as a small lunch for two. Service is generally good but has been slow on occasion, restaurant atmosphere is also dated but on par with most other restaurants on Arthur Ave. Overall, the restaurant ranks among my top favorites in Bronx's Little Italy! read more

Absolutely love this place. The Sangria's are very well done. The food is just superb. I usually order the Shrimp Scampi which never disappoints. The service is usually great, although last time i had to wait a bit longer than usual, though it was late night and the place was empty. This was a one time thing and i am willing to overlook it because this place is always on point and the food is of great quality. Very fairly priced. So, I took my wife here for her birthday after a day at the Bronx Zoo. The place had a very loud and obnoxious party being held in the dining room area. I can't really fault them for that - what I can fault them for, however, is Fettuccine Alfredo with "soupy cheese sauce that tastes like hot water". My wife had no interest in finishing. As for myself, I sat down at a Brick Oven restaurant in the Bronx and expected to be blown away by a personal pizza. Instead, I couldn't even taste the cheese. Floppy, soggy Margarita Pizza that tasted like tomatoes and bread. I get way better pizza in Jersey. Disappointed. I wanted to say the calamari was great, as the fried breading was crunchy and intriguing, but I suspect the squid was frozen, as it was dry and chewy. $3 for a flat 8oz RC Cola, no refills. Yeah, you're not that fancy, Michaelangelo. Check the syrup in the machine. Environment was... mixed. I could tell they were trying, it was "unique". My view was mostly of a brick wall with flashing multi-colored disco lights, with some old-Italian style artwork of wine bottles hung on the wall. Lots and lots and lots of nick-nacks and sculptures and textures on the wall. Is this modern or vintage? Looking away from the wall towards the bar was nice. However, within view of our table, was the kitchen's bicycles and outdoor trash area. Oh yes, and it is way past time to update the white faux-leather "couches" in the dining area. You know, the ones with frayed material sticking out the bottom from years of feet slamming into them. Table service was attentive and respectful. A great sure bet for the Arthur Ave experience. The place is deceiving large. Entering the small storefront quickly opens up into a very large garden style dining room/ bar. It has an indoor/outdoor feel that gives it a good energy; It is air conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter. The servers are very professional. They are friendly but manage to steer clear of the show-y-ness that sometimes comes with this kind of atmosphere. They will work with you to make sure all your needs are met for a great experience. The whole fish brazzini is so good and I have been there before when it is sold out. It can comes as a filet as well, but I've only had the whole fish. The baked clams are whole and delicious. The fried calamari is nice. The calamari itself is fresh and cooked well. However the batter is a little heavy. The chicken/veal parmagianna/ francese are on par for an nice Arthur ave/ little italy restaurant. Save room for the amazing tiramisu. read more

I lived in the neighborhood for several years in the 1980s. Did not eat here much back then, because at night there were often too many limos, so we would just go where it was less obviously busy. Went there about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and 3 of us, including one vegetarian shared dishes, although our vegetarian did not eat the fish. We all were thrilled with the freshness, and quality of the food that Sunday early (530/6-30 pm) evening. And my quasi-Sicilian is not easy to please at all. The main part of the restaurant had about 4 or 5 other groups, so comparatively, it was not busy at that time. The dipping sauce with bred was among the tastiest sauces I've ever had to dip bread in. That set things off on the right foot. One in our group ordered the 3 fishes -- a vey large plate of bass, sole and salmon with plates to share. The fish was insanely good, tasty and cooked to perfection, with a very pleasant basic fettucini/almost alfredo underneath. I am a bit shocked other reviews found fault. Clearly on our night there was no rush, so everything got full attention. I was not hungry, so I had a vegetarian pizza (so I could eat light and easily share with the vegetarian) the pizza was light and crisp; not soggy at all. the eggplant topping was super fresh and tasty. I quickly got my appetite back, despite having eaten just 4 hours earlier. The vegetarian among us chose whole wheat pasta with spinach broccoli and garlic and she said that was also excellent -- penne cooked perfectly according to my wife who is a foodie with relatively recent Sicilian ancestors. The presentation was simple. The indoor outdoor tiki setting is casual and charming. Would definitely return on a quiet night. read more

Service was not good. Server was not paying attention at all. Tables around us got bread; we did not, until we asked for it. My drink was empty and I was never asked if I wanted another (at that point we were so disappointed that I wasn't about to have another drink anyway). I came here with my roommate and her family last week; it was awesome! At first I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to eat anything good because I'm gluten free and this is an Italian restaurant (aka gluten paradise). However, I had an amazing skirt steak with potatoes. It was a really big meal, so I had to box it up for later, but it kept well (even in my terrible refrigerator). Two days before our reservation we received a call saying our reservation was given to another group because they were larger and we would have to find another location. I came here with my coworker after a meeting. The food was delicious. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the friendly hostess who informed us in order to get the happy hour special, we would have to sit at the bar. She walked us to this backyard indoor patio which was extremely nice! We were seated right away. However, we were highly disappointed with the service. We had to call our waitress over multiple times to get drinks and to order our food. She obviously didn't like her job very much. The pizza was absolutely delicious. We shared a vegetarian slice which came with spinach, broccoli, onions and pesto sauce. The pie was perfect for two prowl to share. The only reason why I did not give this place 5 stars is because our waitress was rude. However, I will definitely come back when I am in the area to grab a quick bite to eat! read more

The area in the back is lovely, the service was good (though it was relatively empty), the food and drinks were tasty -- not the best, but just what we were looking for after a long day at the Botanical Garden. Unfortunately, I started to feel pretty ill soon after eating and a couple hours later got violently sick. The four cheese pizza was the only thing I ate all day and it was delicious, but maybe they should check their ingredients. A quick check on their recent health evaluation showed 21 docked points, four of which are "critical" meaning that they pertain to the safety of food being served (I.e employee cleanliness, expiration of ingredients, pests, etc.). Really nice surprise to find this gem near the NY Botanical Garden. Shark water cocktail was yummy! Pear salad without the cheese and a side order of seasonal vegetables made this a vegan feast! Appalled by the poor quality food, luke warm pizzas and uncooked pastas, I regret not leaving before we ordered. The bus boy could not even speak English . The waiter was not knowledgeable of the restaurant or the parking outside. Be warned, they charge a 18% gratuity to parties of five or more, and a whopping four dollars to share each dish. Every single restaurant on arthur avenue is spectacular, I'm shocked this place is still in business. I have one nice thing to say, the atmosphere is very pleasant and quiet in the rear. This place is now owned by Albanians and as usual, they are trying to muscle in on the Italian market. The food is horrible and the service is unfriendly and dry. Rat and mice traps hidden throughout. Don't go, there are way better Italian restaurants in the area. We left and went to Antonio's on Belmont, that place as usual is amazing!
