This has been our go to place for good Mexican food since it opened and was called,"Mi Taza." Manuel, the manager, has always been welcoming and attentive since our first time there. Where has Manuel gone????? We have not seen him for a month or so. Last night we were in and the service was subpar to say the least. We waited 7-10 minutes for a waitress/waiter to come by and begin our order. A girl wasn't sure if she was suppose to take care of us. We ordered drinks, my husband wanted the happy hour special," Corona and Corona Lite Happy Hour All Day". He ordered a Corona and the date, best used by, had expired last month. He saw that after the waitress ask him, "How's your beer?" When our order came, my order was totally wrong and the girl questioned my ordering. The music was so loud that she did not hear correctly what I ordered. My husband was waiting to eat; however we were never brought any utensils to eat with. When I asked a waiter going by he said, "Just a minute!!" My husband sat there looking at his food. My order came out pretty quick and it was good as usual. When the bill came they charged regular price for an out of date beer. My husband questioned the price and the waitress said it was 2 for 1, buy 2 and get one 1/2 off. That was not on the sign and she did not give that info when my husband asked about the happy hour! We were disgusted with the whole situation and the manager just sat behind the counter the whole time, unlike Manuel who worked the floor and visited with everyone. We will not return anytime soon. I have been here a couple times, and it has always been alright. The staff is friendly and there isn't usually much of a wait. It's a cozy little restaurant in a shopping center. The chips and salsa are free if you order an entree, and they tasted okay. The guacamole wasn't the best I had, and didn't seem super fresh made, but I ate it all as an appetizer. The refried beans were good. I also had a guacamole soft taco, and I felt like there should've been more guacamole for it being the main ingredient, but luckily I had some extra guac and beans to add to it. Prices are decent, staff was friendly, everything seems clean, but feel that the food was lacking a little. I don't know that I'd come back for a meal, but I think it'd probably be a great place to stop by for a drink and chips and salsa. read more

My grandmother died a year ago and she made the best chicken mole. In her honor, I wanted to order it. This was the only place I could find that made just chicken mole. Not enchiladas or tamales. We ordered 2 chicken moles and brisket tacos. It wasn't exactly like my grandmother's (every mama makes it a little different) but it was familiar. Chicken was moist and generous size. Went here for lunch with some family and was pretty impressed, especially with the lunch prices! I ordered the chimichangas and although they were a bit small they were very filling and well made, with a lot of sides included. The chips and salsa are also some of the best I've had. Overall a good experience! Was a bit messy so taking one star off for that, some flies in the restaurant because they kept the door open and the table needed onto be cleaned but otherwise good!! Not a bad little joint. When it comes to me, Tex Mex is my personal steak and potatoes. Mi Taza is reliable average to slightly above average. The salsa is above average; their beef is ok but they cut it too small for my preferences. I do frequent the place because I can pop in, sit at the bar, grab a quick bite, and be on my way. I tend to order the same thing so I can't comment on the other dishes on the menu, but they do have some items for pescetarians. I usually get cheese enchiladas with beef fajita meat on top. If such things matter to you, the staff are uniformly dressed and friendly. No uncomfortable facial piercings or extreme make up. They don't deliver themselves, but through entrees denton. read more

The food is always delicious here. However on this occasion the tomatillo sauce was a little sour. But with that said, they marinate their chicken so perfectly, it's always tender, juicy and well seasoned. I recommend the shredded chicken. Can't go wrong! Ever since the change in the management MiTaza or MiTata has gone down hill. We've been coming here almost every week since it opened. The atmosphere is not as friendly; service is slower; the wait staff and bussers do not pay attention to refilling drinks, chips or salsa. There were so many good reviews and we came in and it was awful. All the food was luke warm, obviously canned chicken, the "sour cream" enchiladas had no actual sauce just literal sour cream, the beef was spongy and salty and terrible. The only good thing we're the sautéed veggies and the chips and salsa. The margarita was so weak a child could have drank it. Y'all need an overhaul. You have the potential to be great but if you can't handle all the people greatness brings you will fail. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant before it was 'Mi Tata' and have always enjoyed the food and service, but today I went to lunch with my mother and had the worst experience I've ever had. The server was very inattentive and rude. My family comes every week and I always get the same thing and ask for extra Pico and cilantro and have never been charged until today. This is our go to when we want to get out of the house for a sit down meal. The staff is amazing!! Everyone is so friendly. We're regulars so it's like visiting our closest friends. I have been back there several times now and have enjoyed it everytime. The Arepas are delicios, arepas have a texture like an English muffin but with more flavor. I also had the Cuban sandwhich to which thye add avocado, although not traditional it was very good. I think the prices are fine for this wonderful Mexican/Venezulean fusion. The flavors are so different from your traditional Tex-Mex and worth the trip. I am definetly putting Mi Taza into my weekly places to visit for both breakfast and dinner. New Ownership!!! This place has changed for the better!!! I've been to Mi Taza about 6 times since the new ownership went into effect. They have a brand new menu, friendly new staff, and the food is DELICIOUS! I'm usually skeptical when it comes to Mexican restaurants since I feel that the majority of them have focused more on putting overcooked rice and bland beans on a plate instead of making flavorful Mexican dishes. Mi Taza clearly focuses on quality food. The rice is never overcooked and everything I've had so far has been delicious. My favorite item on the menu is the Mexican Street Taco dinner. The portion size is more than generous, the meat is seasoned perfectly, and the sauce is delicious. My #2 favorite is the chicken & bacon flauta dinner. The prices are cheap and they have a fully stocked bar, unlike the previous ownership. If you've been here before under the old ownership I ask that you please give it another chance. The staff is extremely nice, the restaurant is affordable, and the food is superb! read more

From having a sandwich to having enchiladas I haven't had a meal here that isn't rib sticking and amazing. Their salsa is very tasty as well. My husband and I are both trying to stick to a whole foods plant-based diet, but my husband "cheats" on our diet more than I do, and he LOVES Mexican food. So we went to Mi Taza last night, and my husband ordered his favorite chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce. I asked the waitress if I could get fajitas with no meat, cheese, or sour cream. I've tried this before at other restaurants and ended up with just grilled onions and peppers, which was okay, but the chef at Mi Taza made me a delicious blend of onions, peppers, mushrooms, and spinach - even better! I still got my pico and guac on the side, and charro beans. All of it was mouthwateringly delicious, and we will definitely be back! read more
