Located on the corner of Teasley and 35, their sign faces the highway. Once you park over there, you realize there is no door. You have to actually go inside the Shell and they have their own counter just to the right of the Shell register. They have a large menu that's easy to read and there are three tables in the beer section. They don't have drinks though, you can purchase some separately from the Shell. There was a line of three people in front of us, but it moved quickly. People shared the tables while they waited on their to go orders and there were a lot of bags getting packed. Since it's a small operation, they only serve breakfast 6:30am to 11am and then only lunch from 11am to 4pm, when they close. They are closed on Sundays. The staff was busy the entire time we were there. They are popular and had a line going the entire time. They stayed hustling and the grill stayed full. They were really friendly and checked on us several times once we decided to eat there. The prices were really cheap! This is one of the better deals in town for price to portion for the tacos and sides, I was really pleased with that. The plates were all in the $5-8 range and included rice and beans, while the extras were only 25 cents whether it was veggies or cheese. I'm an automatic fan when I see the absence of price gouging! Note, it's cash only! We each decided to get a meal and each one was $6.49. My husband went with a beef quesadilla while I got a taco plate, both came with rice and beans. My husband said his quesadilla was higher quality than he normally gets from a taqueria- and in a gas station no less, lol! He completly cleaned his plate so no sampling for me. :/ I chose the pastor, fajita and carnitas. All the tacos were decent, but I didn't enjoy the grilled onions as much as I thought I would. It sounded so much better than raw onions, but next time I'll nix the onions. I would say the carnitas were the best of the three in terms of juicy flavor and texture. I felt the other two were chopped a little small and I would have enjoyed larger pieces better. Since it was chopped so small some of the pieces were a bit chewy and you get less of the flavor that way. Of course, that's pretty picky on my part for the price point. I prefer the meat to be tender, but this may have happened because of the Saturday lunch rush. The rice and beans were really, really good. The rice was well above other taquerias and I was really surprised by the quality. I'll probably order an extra side of rice in the future since I enjoyed it so much. Warning, the salsa is HOT, no seriously it's unbelievably hot. I may wimp out with spicy stuff, but my husband loves it and he could barely handle it. You have been warned! There was an altercation while we were there, a random person acted pretty insane and got violent, it was bizarre and disturbing. This incident may or may not have affected the rush to catch up on the food and the satisfaction with my tacos. Perhaps they were on the grill longer since everyone in the building was quite distracted by this scene. It's hard to tell since my husband's quesadilla was spot on. What I can say is that I was really impressed with this staff and how they handled it. They were professional and got right back to work, double time, even though it was a crazy situation. They clearly have a lot of regulars judging from the conversations and signs of recognition throughout our visit. I certainly can't blame them! These three were so pleasant and worked hard to get out a good product. I also appreciate that we were treated the same as the regulars. I look forward to returning and trying more of their selection!

Flautas- Comes with guacamole, salsa, cheese, sourcream, pico, and lettuce

My rating is more along the lines of 3.5 stars. It's a good taqueria, but not one of my favourites in town. I'd happily eat here, but there are just so many options that this wouldn't be my first choice. The items here appear to be a little different than other taquerias. They use grilled onions for their tacos, not raw. While it worked on some of the tacos, I was really yearning for raw onions. They also don't have a red and green salsa similar to most taquerias. Instead they have a raw tomato and cilantro salsa, which is reminiscent of what you'd get with chips and salsa at a restaurant. You can choose between mild and hot. The hot wasn't terribly spicy when I went, but I could definitely taste the pepper. The flautas reminded me more of an american crunchy taco than standard taqueria flautas. Unlike other taquerias in town, the flautas here do not come with rice and beans. Instead you get 4 decent sized flautas loaded with guacamole, shredded american cheese, sour cream, pico, lettuce, and the salsa of your choice on top. The chicken mixture inside the flautas was well seasoned in comparison to others in town, but the ingredients on top lacked flavour. I typically love having alot of salad with my flautas, but the combination here ended up pretty lackluster for me. Extra salsa on the side helped, but only to a certain extent. The flautas also got pretty soggy after my ten minute drive, so they were falling apart as I ate them. Usually when I get flautas at other joints they can survive the drive, but they're usually not loaded with toppings like these are. The tacos were good, but they had a few faults. The corn tortillas ended up having a strange texture, almost feeling simultaneously mushy and crunchy. The carnitas tasted a little gamey, and could've benefited from raw onions or a different type of salsa. The pastor and chicken were really great though. Well charred and seasoned with a good texture. I didn't miss the raw onions with these tacos. The asada was also pretty good, but there were a few off bites. It's worth noting that the asada is marinated in house, while the fajita arrives pre-marinated. Unfortunately my rice was also undercooked. The flavour was there, I just ended up getting it on an unlucky day I assume. It's also worth noting that the parking here is very limited. I, along with many others, had to find less than ideal parking. Not really sure if any of us were legally parked..

My family all loves the tacos. It is inside a convenience store, cash only. Super fresh (like hard to pick up it's so fresh), great flavor, and excellent salsa to put on top.

    Best tacos in Denton!
