    4 tacos
    Jon M.

Another taco craving and another new place. I went in and everybody was very sweet and placed the order and received it pretty quickly. I really wanted to love this place. I ordered 4 tacos and 1 vanilla churro The tacos were very bland, despite a very juicy lime that came with it, but the meat, even just misc pieces had no real flavor. I got the barbacoa, chicken, pastor, and asada and none of these really hit me with a "this is an amazing taco" feel. I also ordered the vanilla churro (never had that flavor before) and it was really good. It was fried, but many over do it so it's hard. This place, though it was soft and very tasty. Unfortunately this will prob be a no when it comes to future visits, though... Granted the tacos smelled amazing, but that just added to the disappointment when I ate them

Massive amount of Nachos, called Macho Nachos. Good taste!

The Tacos were well seasoned and Nachos tasty. The price was excellent and the service was good.

3 barbecoa tacos... Took this before showing them and throwing it away.

Took entirely too long to get food with only 2 other people waiting on food. Finally recieved my order, 3 Barbecoa tacos, my absolute favorite mexican food. Didnt care that they were little tacos, i was starving. They were over salted and had a very very weird taste. I am part of the Clean Plate Club... I took 2 bites out of 1, 1 bite out of the other 2 and left. The meat tasted old, salty and was hard. Didn't ask for anything back, just told the very kind lady taking the orders and left. The young woman taking orders was very nice.

Good torta!!!! so me and my friend becca went to this place bc I actually saw a girls tiktok ??? I don't even know if this is the same place but I swear to god I saw a tiktok about this place and was like okay let's go I love a small business. I ordered a freaking torta bc I love me a torta, and guess what? it was pretty good. pretty good is as good as it gets though, to be honest it wasn't excellent per se, but it hit the spot for me when I was freakin starving. food was fast and relatively fresh. service is solid. the ambiance is what you make of it. the fries with the torta needed salt. ngl everything kinda needed a teensy bit of salt. even the salsa. but it was still good!!!!! it's still freaking good the technique is there the salt is not, you get what i'm saying? but there's salt at the table so don't worry, you can fix it. i'm saying it's worth it. $14.90 for torta, fries, and drink. becca got a veritable mountain of nachos for like $11. I'm saying you're getting a sick deal out of this. go here.

We chose Maria's because it is near the card game store our son wanted to visit. You order at the counter. Menu is on the wall. Food was fresh and brought to us in about 5 minutes. Breakfast food includes breakfast tacos, omelettes, French toast, and pancakes. (The pancakes looked huge and good! We didn't have them) Tacos were flavorful. It is a simple restaurant. There are 5 - four top tables, 3 - round two top tables, and a larger table at the front which could sit 6-10 people. Music playing in the background was a nice soft volume. I'd come back here if I'm in the area. If I lived closer I'd be eating here at least once a week.

Nice restaurant. Clean and service was very good. Food was tasty, but a bit bland for me. Would have liked refried beans.

This cozy authentic Mexican restaurant is my morning breakfast spot. Their barbacoa tacos, which come with onion, cilantro and lime, are my favorite. Although they are closed on Monday, their doors welcome you every other day of the week.

All I can say is... YUM! The carne asada fries were incredible. If you go, just go ahead order them and thank me later. I wouldn't get the barbocoa sandwich again, not because it wasn't good but because the barbacoa was so juicy it soaked the bread and made it soggy. Delicious but not on a torta lol. The chicken quesadilla is huge and DELICIOUS. Fries are cooked well. Good atmosphere to go hang out with friends. Service was very friendly and great. Definitely coming back here again and I'm excited to try more things

Everything we ordered was delicious. The guacamole tasted super fresh, the queso was flavorful and came in a generous portion, and the salsa had just the right amount of kick without being too spicy. The only small hiccup was the chips situation--they give you big portions of guac, queso, and salsa, but the chips come in a tiny bowl. (Literally 10 chips) very sad for 6 people to fight over so little of chips. Not a huge deal, just a bit surprising. We also tried the margaritas--they had great flavor, though they tasted absent of tequila. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back...maybe next time we bring our own chips! :)

If I could give La Fondita Mexican Restaurant six stars, I would legally change the rating system…read morejust to make it happen. Let me set the scene: I walked in expecting a casual meal and maybe a decent taco. What I got instead was a borderline spiritual awakening wrapped in foil and served with rice and beans. First of all -- the giant piña colada. When they say giant, they are not messing around. This thing arrived like it had its own gravitational pull. I'm pretty sure I saw a small family of tourists orbiting it. One sip and I was transported to a beach that doesn't even exist on any map -- coconutty, icy perfection with just enough kick to make me briefly consider texting my boss that I've moved to an island and won't be returning. Then came the beans. Listen carefully: I don't throw this word around lightly -- perfect. These beans were so good I genuinely paused mid-bite and just stared into the middle distance reevaluating my entire life. Creamy, rich, seasoned like someone's abuela whispered ancient secrets into the pot. I would trust these beans with my taxes, my passwords, and honestly my emotional well-being. And the corn tortillas... dear lord, the corn tortillas. I have had tortillas in many places, including at my own abuela's table -- and saying this feels like confessing a sin -- but these might be the best I've ever had besides abuela's. Warm, soft, slightly charred in all the right places, like they were handmade by someone who has been perfecting this craft since before I was born and possibly before electricity was invented. If I could build a house out of these tortillas, I would. I would live there. Happily. And then--just when I thought things couldn't escalate further--the huevos rancheros arrived. Eggs cooked to that perfect sweet spot where the yolk still has a little rebellion left in it, laid over a bed of everything that matters, all tied together with a sauce that refuses to be anything less than unforgettable. It's the kind of breakfast that makes you question why you ever settle for anything less in life. Comforting, bold, and somehow both rustic and wildly impressive at the same time. Everything else on the plate? Outstanding. Rice that actually deserves to be eaten and not just politely ignored. Salsa that sneaks up on you like, "oh this is nice--OH okay there it is." Service? Friendly, fast, and somehow emotionally supportive. Atmosphere? The kind of place where you immediately feel like a regular even if it's your first time. Final verdict: If you are anywhere within a 50-mile radius of Denton and you are not eating at La Fondita Mexican Restaurant, you are making a series of deeply questionable life choices. I came in hungry. I left changed.

We started things off right with chips, jalapeño ranch dip, and queso, which is honestly the only proper way to begin a Chuy's visit. The queso was warm, creamy, and exactly what my soul needed, and the chips with that jalapeño ranch were the cherry on top. Speaking of cherries, we also got the Tito's cherry limeade, and it was the spring we didn't know we needed to bounce. Crisp, cold, a little dangerous in the cutest way, and honestly adorable -- the perfect little kick to start the meal. Our waiter was top notch: kind, attentive, and somehow always there right when we needed something without ever hovering. That kind of service makes the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. For food, we ordered the Baja shrimp tacos, and when I say the shrimp is BIG, I mean it (and no, we're definitely not out here flattering any men ). The shrimp was cooked perfectly, flavorful, and absolutely the star of the plate. They came with rice and beans, and even though I forgot to ask for the cilantro lime rice , I was still super happy with everything. We also got the steak fajita Tex-Mex burrito bowl, and every single bite just kept getting better. The steak was tender, packed with flavor, and once it all got mixed together with the salsa and scooped up on the crispy tostada, it was perfection. This meal was such a good reminder of why Chuy's became a favorite for me in the first place -- fun atmosphere, great food, amazing service, and one of those dinners that just hits from the first chip to the last bite.
