It's good old fashioned Tex-Mex! I'm a huge fan of the chicken pastores tacos! Top with minced onion, cilantro and a dark brown salsa that's yummy! However, they're trying some new things too! The El Jefe margarita is strong and delicious. The menu specials are very good too! Recently I have been a fan of the Diablo shrimp. It's not that spicy to me and comes with mixed veggies and cilantro lime rice. Today, I had a sneak peek of a possible new item! A meat feast fajita plate with smoked jalapeño sausage, chicken, shrimp and beef! My goodness! The sausage is finely ground, not greasy and had great flavor! Everything else was perfect too! Moist meats, the best refried beans and rice with guacamole and tortillas... I have to confess, I couldn't eat it all. I'll be having the leftovers for breakfast and lunch tomorrow! Place is clean and in a little strip mall just off the highway in Corinth, maybe half mile away from the city hall. There's a bar top to sit and then a dozen or so four-tops. Looks like they have some patio seating in the front as well. People there are very friendly and accommodating and the service is quick. I went there twice over two days. First evening I had the taco and enchilada plate (Combo 2 @ $12.00) Very simple plate and they do it well. Second night was a Friday night happy hour and my wife and I shared fajitas ($18.50 for the steak, chicken, shrimp mix) and the shrimp cocktail ($12 and with nice size shrimp). All plates were good with a slight nod to the fajitas as I thought that plate was the best. I'd stick with the steak though as that was the best on the platter. Shrimp cocktail is plentiful and has a little zing to it. Friday night happy hour ends at 6 PM and there's a fantastic price on draft beer ($4.99 for Negra Modelo). My wife found a wonderful jewel of a drink called the Glacier Float, which says frozen on the menu but can be made on the rocks. Salvador is a great bartender and I sat at the bar both times. But the servers all help one another so the service experience was pretty good. Great place to hang out after work or with friends. read more

My son ordered the combo fajitas we also ordered the shrimp cocktail and their enchiladas. Everything was good and we all left smiling. Oh and ordered flan for dessert. Was really excited to see someplace close by w great reviews. Maybe my expectations were too high after reading other reviews. The service was fantastic. Waitress was helpful, attentive and food came out quickly. The food however was just meh. Queso blanco was bland and watery. Barely stuck on to the tortilla chip. Chips were crispy but salsa was not spicy at all. My thoughts on the beef fajitas are mixed. Very tender but no char at all. So it lacked that smoky flavor I love. We've been going here for almost 3 years now and never have we ever been disappointed! The margaritas with Taheen on the rocks are the bomb. Make sure you get there prior to 6 o'clock so you can enjoy happy hour. It's a family run business everyone is so friendly and we just love Daisy and her husband. We went with friends for lunch. The food was good. The restaurant was nice and clean. There are lots of open tables to choose from. Server needs more experience or training. While he wasn't bad as a server, he needs to understand and follow some common sense and regulations. 1. He sat and ate at a table two away from us. Clearly visible for anyone to see. 2. Fellow Corinthians - listen up. This restaurant has been open 2.5 months and we came here tonight for the first time. They just got their liquor license so be patient as they fully stock the bar. All I can say is WOW!!! The food is unbelievable. This is a true family owned business. Dad and his sister make all the food from scratch. Mom, daughter and son were bartending and waiting tables. The mango frozen margarita with the Tajin rim was delicious. When was the last time you said that about a frozen drink that came out of a machine?!?! The Travelers queso with beef, ribeye tacos and chicken nachos were delicious. Every flavor pops. I loved the beans, the use of cilantro was not too much, meat was perfectly seasoned... can I say more? Move over "A's" in Hickory Creek, this place far exceeds that quality we have grown to tolerate. Travelers Cantina is now part of our weekly rotation to support locally owned restaurants! read more

We received friendly and prompt service. The food was good. The chile relleno was considerably more spicy than chile rellenos typically are. It caught me a little off-guard and I love spicy food. Maybe I just got an extra spicy pepper. The drinks were delicious. Pricing was fair. The only complaint I have, is the restaurant layout. There is no sound control at all and it's an open space. We could hear every word at every table. A family came in with kids running across the room, climbing on top of tables, sliding chairs across the floor (nails on chalkboard sound repeatedly), and screaming. It absolutely ruined our otherwise pleasant meal. We couldn't wait to leave. The restaurant can't control behavior of guests, but it can do things to limit how sound carries in the restaurant. An interior designer or anyone in the music industry could advise on this. read more

This is a followup to my original review. Since the last review, I have stopped in twice for margaritas and a Big Tex Nacho. It was AWESOME!! And the margaritas are amazing, especially (IMHO) the spicy margarita made with serrano peppers! Today I tried a combo of sour cream chicken enchiladas, beef enchiladas, and cheese enchiladas. My favorite was the sour cream chicken enchiladas, but the others are also very good. I can't say enough about the sour cream chicken enchiladas, though! PERFECTION!!! This is absolutely the best Mexican food north of Dallas, and it would rival the best in Dallas or Ft. Worth!! read more

Travelers should keep driving past this cantina, as the food here is just boring. My chicken burrito, for example, was shredded chicken in a tortilla. No other ingredients save some chili to put on top, no cheese, no vegetables, nada. Understanding that is the style in some places, the chicken was itself bland and unseasoned. My wife's food was similarly dull. Salsa was also for (us) gringos, very little spice or heat. The place was clean and bright and the service was fine, but did not overcome the blandness of the food. Oh my gosh! I went with a friend for an adventure and this was the goal. Great wait staff ( we had a cousin of this family owned restaurant), very friendly, knowledgable & professional. I tried the sampler and it was wonderful. The flautas were eye-rolling perfect. The nachos & quesadillas were excellent and I loved the Yellowstone dip. I can't remember what my friend had but she said id was very good - she'd been before. It wasn't busy that day and we were able to enjoy the food and visit without being rushed. Great food. Excellent service. Cold drinks. Have been here six or seven times. Every time I try something different , and it always taste amazing . We live about 30 miles away, but it is definitely worth the drive. The guacamole is a show stopper. Great texture and ingredients. Just the perfect amount of spices. The black bean dip with chips is a a starter we get every visit. Yes, it is that good! Have tried several chicken dishes and loved every one. Husband has had traveler's enchiladas . He said the meat meat was tender and flavorful and the sauce it comes with ( I believe it was a green sauce) was spicy and a perfect addition. Been here a half a dozen times. I do judge my Mexican food restaurants based on the chips and salsa first, drinks, second. Their chips and salsa are terrible. Salsa is watery with little flavor and no heat at all. Like, I don't even think they use jalapeños at all. The chips taste like they come straight from the bag. If you order nachos it's a few large round chips with stuff on top. Not how nachos typically are dressed. Their margaritas are fabulous, that's the reason I am giving 2 stars. Portions are small for the price of food. Hopefully they can work on their salsa recipe and get some other items on the menu to justify their prices. read more

Service 5 stars!!! Ashly was super and knowledgeable. Four of us ate and the chicken enchiladas and the Travelers Enchiladas were so good!! I had the brisket tacos and they were just ok. Brisket was bland and dry-tortillas very store bought tasting. Chips and salsa pretty good-needs salt. I had the Nomad Margaritas $12-so expensive.
