Top shelf margarita with Tajin rim, black bean dip and beef with queso!
Molly T.

It's good old fashioned Tex-Mex! I'm a huge fan of the chicken pastores tacos! Top with minced onion, cilantro and a dark brown salsa that's yummy! However, they're trying some new things too! The El Jefe margarita is strong and delicious. The menu specials are very good too! Recently I have been a fan of the Diablo shrimp. It's not that spicy to me and comes with mixed veggies and cilantro lime rice. Today, I had a sneak peek of a possible new item! A meat feast fajita plate with smoked jalapeño sausage, chicken, shrimp and beef! My goodness! The sausage is finely ground, not greasy and had great flavor! Everything else was perfect too! Moist meats, the best refried beans and rice with guacamole and tortillas... I have to confess, I couldn't eat it all. I'll be having the leftovers for breakfast and lunch tomorrow! It's family owned and operated! Simple and clean. Go there, get some. Life is too short for boring food!

Place is clean and in a little strip mall just off the highway in Corinth, maybe half mile away from the city hall. There's a bar top to sit and then a dozen or so four-tops. Looks like they have some patio seating in the front as well. People there are very friendly and accommodating and the service is quick. I went there twice over two days. First evening I had the taco and enchilada plate (Combo 2 @ $12.00) Very simple plate and they do it well. Second night was a Friday night happy hour and my wife and I shared fajitas ($18.50 for the steak, chicken, shrimp mix) and the shrimp cocktail ($12 and with nice size shrimp). All plates were good with a slight nod to the fajitas as I thought that plate was the best. I'd stick with the steak though as that was the best on the platter. Shrimp cocktail is plentiful and has a little zing to it. Friday night happy hour ends at 6 PM and there's a fantastic price on draft beer ($4.99 for Negra Modelo). My wife found a wonderful jewel of a drink called the Glacier Float, which says frozen on the menu but can be made on the rocks. Salvador is a great bartender and I sat at the bar both times. But the servers all help one another so the service experience was pretty good. Great place to hang out after work or with friends.

An Old Fashioned to top off the evening!!!

The food is delicious!!! Let me add that if you like brussel sprouts you are going to love the way they are prepared!!!!! On top of all of that the service is spectacular!!! My new favorite in the area.

The food was EXCELLENT!! Fajita meat was tender and nice char. No gristle. The white cheese dip was perfect and loved the chips and salsa!! Everything was to perfection for a Tex-mex restaurant!! Service was great! Very attentive. Ohh' and the Margarita Flight was yummy! The regular math was not too sweet and not too tart! The chamoy was my fav and I don't even like chamoy! Lol we will be back!

I'm so glad I finally found a place with good flavor! Being so close to home. I came in and was greeted an sat right away. The service was so great and friendly. My son ordered the combo fajitas we also ordered the shrimp cocktail and their enchiladas. Everything was good and we all left smiling. Oh and ordered flan for dessert. I definitely will come back here as everything tasted amazing! If you have a random license plate laying around I think they would appreciate that donation!

Fellow Corinthians - listen up. This restaurant has been open 2.5 months and we came here tonight for the first time. They just got their liquor license so be patient as they fully stock the bar. All I can say is WOW!!! The food is unbelievable. This is a true family owned business. Dad and his sister make all the food from scratch. Mom, daughter and son were bartending and waiting tables. The mango frozen margarita with the Tajin rim was delicious. When was the last time you said that about a frozen drink that came out of a machine?!?! The Travelers queso with beef, ribeye tacos and chicken nachos were delicious. Every flavor pops. I loved the beans, the use of cilantro was not too much, meat was perfectly seasoned... can I say more? Move over "A's" in Hickory Creek, this place far exceeds that quality we have grown to tolerate. Travelers Cantina is now part of our weekly rotation to support locally owned restaurants!

The beautiful bar and source of awesome libations!!

Worst Mexican food we have had in this area. Avoid. Prices were average. Clean place but the food was just bad. Not worth it.

La Fondita Denton - Golden Tacos are in the best!!! Authentic Mexican food

Everything we ordered was delicious. The guacamole tasted super fresh, the queso was flavorful and came in a generous portion, and the salsa had just the right amount of kick without being too spicy. The only small hiccup was the chips situation--they give you big portions of guac, queso, and salsa, but the chips come in a tiny bowl. (Literally 10 chips) very sad for 6 people to fight over so little of chips. Not a huge deal, just a bit surprising. We also tried the margaritas--they had great flavor, though they tasted absent of tequila. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would definitely go back...maybe next time we bring our own chips! :)

If I could give La Fondita Mexican Restaurant six stars, I would legally change the rating system…read morejust to make it happen. Let me set the scene: I walked in expecting a casual meal and maybe a decent taco. What I got instead was a borderline spiritual awakening wrapped in foil and served with rice and beans. First of all -- the giant piña colada. When they say giant, they are not messing around. This thing arrived like it had its own gravitational pull. I'm pretty sure I saw a small family of tourists orbiting it. One sip and I was transported to a beach that doesn't even exist on any map -- coconutty, icy perfection with just enough kick to make me briefly consider texting my boss that I've moved to an island and won't be returning. Then came the beans. Listen carefully: I don't throw this word around lightly -- perfect. These beans were so good I genuinely paused mid-bite and just stared into the middle distance reevaluating my entire life. Creamy, rich, seasoned like someone's abuela whispered ancient secrets into the pot. I would trust these beans with my taxes, my passwords, and honestly my emotional well-being. And the corn tortillas... dear lord, the corn tortillas. I have had tortillas in many places, including at my own abuela's table -- and saying this feels like confessing a sin -- but these might be the best I've ever had besides abuela's. Warm, soft, slightly charred in all the right places, like they were handmade by someone who has been perfecting this craft since before I was born and possibly before electricity was invented. If I could build a house out of these tortillas, I would. I would live there. Happily. And then--just when I thought things couldn't escalate further--the huevos rancheros arrived. Eggs cooked to that perfect sweet spot where the yolk still has a little rebellion left in it, laid over a bed of everything that matters, all tied together with a sauce that refuses to be anything less than unforgettable. It's the kind of breakfast that makes you question why you ever settle for anything less in life. Comforting, bold, and somehow both rustic and wildly impressive at the same time. Everything else on the plate? Outstanding. Rice that actually deserves to be eaten and not just politely ignored. Salsa that sneaks up on you like, "oh this is nice--OH okay there it is." Service? Friendly, fast, and somehow emotionally supportive. Atmosphere? The kind of place where you immediately feel like a regular even if it's your first time. Final verdict: If you are anywhere within a 50-mile radius of Denton and you are not eating at La Fondita Mexican Restaurant, you are making a series of deeply questionable life choices. I came in hungry. I left changed.

We started things off right with chips, jalapeño ranch dip, and queso, which is honestly the only proper way to begin a Chuy's visit. The queso was warm, creamy, and exactly what my soul needed, and the chips with that jalapeño ranch were the cherry on top. Speaking of cherries, we also got the Tito's cherry limeade, and it was the spring we didn't know we needed to bounce. Crisp, cold, a little dangerous in the cutest way, and honestly adorable -- the perfect little kick to start the meal. Our waiter was top notch: kind, attentive, and somehow always there right when we needed something without ever hovering. That kind of service makes the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable. For food, we ordered the Baja shrimp tacos, and when I say the shrimp is BIG, I mean it (and no, we're definitely not out here flattering any men ). The shrimp was cooked perfectly, flavorful, and absolutely the star of the plate. They came with rice and beans, and even though I forgot to ask for the cilantro lime rice , I was still super happy with everything. We also got the steak fajita Tex-Mex burrito bowl, and every single bite just kept getting better. The steak was tender, packed with flavor, and once it all got mixed together with the salsa and scooped up on the crispy tostada, it was perfection. This meal was such a good reminder of why Chuy's became a favorite for me in the first place -- fun atmosphere, great food, amazing service, and one of those dinners that just hits from the first chip to the last bite.
