I love it when I'm pleasantly surprised! A friend mentioned that she enjoyed eating at Mi Tata's, and I found myself where I could do a quick online order for pickup at their Teasley location. Ordered a variety of stuff including a Chicken Chile Relleno plate, a Chicken Mole plate, an order of steak tacos, a order of chicken nachos, and sopapillas for desert. A huge order of chips and salsa came with it, another pleasant surprise. I ordered and got up to make the 10 minute drive. They were just putting my order on the bar when I arrived. Surely they couldn't be that good if they were that fast. Wrong again. When I got home, everything was at the perfect temperature an absolutely delicious! My wife and I got about 4 meals each out of this order and we couldn't be happier. We're definitely ordering again soon! read more

We have been by here many times! It is our quick, close to home "Go To" place for dinner and lunch. They have a cute little patio when it is not so hot as well. Everything we have ever had is wonderful. Pork street tacos are AWESOME! My boys love their steak fajitas and my husband's "go-to" is sour cream chicken enchiladas. They all love the queso. Chips and salsa are always perfectly salted and just the right spice. Their only downfall is that they do not offer military discount, like most of the other local restaurants. Please change that! We want to continue coming here and supporting locally owned businesses. They should also support our military and first responders! read more

Just had lunch here and I will definitely be coming back. I had the beef fajitas and was truly amazed at the amount of food I got. I'm a big guy and at times can eat pretty hardy portion. This time, I left stuffed and that's was just from a single order of fajitas with chips and salsa! And I pretty much forced myself to finish it all, it was just to good to take it home! I just wished the salsa was a little chunky to easily scoop up with the chips. Other than that, had a great flavor and was even better when I added my pico de gallo to it! The staff is great, very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. The prices are reasonable and won't break the bank! This place is a reasonably priced Tex-Mex restaurant. Not a place you would go for a fancy dinner, a date or special occasion but for aTex-Mex takeout lunch, dinner or a quick meal with the family this is a good place to go. I didn't check out the reviews first because we had planned to eat elsewhere. When those plans didn't work out, this was our saving grace for our growling stomachs! I'm really glad we stopped by because we had a great meal with extremely pleasant and attentive service and reasonable prices. Fantastic first experience! We were greeted right away and I really liked their décor. Their booths were comfortable and it seems they save their tables for large parties as there were several already there when we arrived. I liked the European décor; the lighting and muted color tones made it cozy and relaxing. After being there a while, it appears they removed baskets or holders from the walls by the tables and need to refresh the paint there. However, it's not an obvious eyesore, it only caught my attention while looking around because so many of the details were flawless. Our server made it a joy to be there. We were given complimentary chips and salsa while we perused the menu and ordered queso... uh, I mean cheese dip(?). Not going to lie, cheese dip on the menu threw me off, focused on trying to figure it out longer than I should have. :) I found the beef entrees really appealing and had a hard time deciding. The prices between the different meals were negligible, less than $1 difference for a lot more food. The queso... uh, cheese dip, was good! It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was very solid and enjoyable with good flavors. The salsa didn't have a lot of heat, but there were a lot of spices and chunks mixed in and it was pretty good. The chips were thinner than my taste preference, but I know a lot of people go crazy for those thin restaurant style chips. My husband got the beef fajita quesadilla and I cannot recall if it was $8.99, or if that was the lunch price, but it was in that range. This is his go to and I can honestly say that no one else has ever served it with rice and beans or such a big portion. He was very satisfied with it and I thought the price was great for the amount of food. I ordered the Carne Asada for $10.29 and my plate was just overflowing with food. I liked the flavor of the beans and the rice was very good. I was thrown off by the ranchero sauce on the cheese enchilada, it was more tomato based than I am used to and could have done without it. The jack cheese enchilada was good, but it was huge and I don't know who is going to eat that much cheese in one sitting... and I love cheese! The carne asada truly was the star. The flavor was wonderful and the meat was really tender! I see tough and chewy carne asada way more than I see tender, and I was really pleased with it! It was also thicker than most places serve it too, so I felt it was worth the price. It turns out we ordered enough food for two meals so I am even more pleased with the price and value. I appreciate the staff making us feel so welcome and saving our early dinner after it was derailed elsewhere. Great service, great food, great price- I'll be back! read more

So they aren't far from me but I have never tried ..probably because I don't usually go to places that are a part of shopping center but thought I would give it a shot.. I love Mexican food I'm originally from AZ and am half Spanish so privileged to know authentic and very good Mexican food I have also come to appreciate good TEX-Mex so moving along my first impression walking in ..it didn't have a strong "Spanish" environment..lights were bright but nevertheless it was still inviting. So we Ordered the chicken feast and the fajita burrito with both chicken and steak, rice was wonderful refried beans not bad and pretty good actually.. now to the meat... I was not fond of it at all ..it was diced into tiny little cubes and very greasy it lacked all flavor and I ordered it because it was a less fattening option so that did not set well.. it didn't have the traditional grilled fajita taste and was not satisfying at all.. the sauces I ordered were spicy sour-cream and tomatillo both were good. The tamale I ordered on the side was tiny and tasted like it came frozen and was reheated :( So now for the other plate it had a quesadilla flauta and chicken enchilada.. the chicken enchilada was stuffed full of finely shredded chicken the texture was bad and taste was bland and mushy lacked the authenticity of real enchilada ..the flauta and quesadilla were ok .. veggies that I ordered on the side instead of in my burrito were saturated in grease which concerns me that the establishment is not considering the way the food is prepared and in using minimal grease when sautéing (don't know how to spell that) so that was that! read more

I really like this place. My fiancé and I ordered take out and it was delicious. We both got chicken tortilla soup which was SO EXCELLENT. It was flavorful and lovely. Chicken broth based and not tomato based. I did kind of want more in the soup? Like more onions, maybe some corn, etc. but it was the BEST flavored tortilla soup in the area I've had. I also got a steak quesadilla which was so yummy. The steak was seasoned well and very tender. Their salsa is #1 in my book. It had a lovely balance of spice, onion, cilantro, etc. we got queso but didn't eat it yet, so I'll update when we've tried it. read more

After a long of driving. We arrived in Denton at night. We googled places to eat and this restaurant popped up for local favorites. After an exhausted search (not to anyone's fault but ours and Siri's for all the road construction). I can see why. Their food was off the charts delicious. It was well worth it. My mom comes here usually once a week and loves it. She is completely grain free and they have no problem adjusting meals to accommodate her needs. My family and I LOVE this place for Mexican food. We have gone here a handful of times since recently discovering it. Every time we have been, we have had above-board service, excellent food and great drinks! I probably should be giving it 5 stars, but I think it is just a little too expensive to go much more often than we've been able to afford. The homemade salsa is great. The chips are fresh. The drinks are exceptional, especially the mixed drinks. It's hard to find good bar drinks anymore. You know, the kind where you can actually taste the alcohol in them - but not too much alcohol that it overwhelms the taste of the drink. Perfect in my opinion. They've got a really great bartender for sure. Food has always tasted fresh, not like it is sitting in the kitchen all day and put in the microwave to warm it up after it's ordered. It tastes like they made it when you ordered it. It is flavorful, and the portions are on the bigger (but not too much) side. Again, just about perfect. Everyone is kind and attentive, they check on the needs of the tables frequently, and the atmosphere is pleasant with a positive energy throughout the restaurant. If you haven't been here, I urge you to check it out. If you have been here and have left a less than stellar review, I urge you to check it out again to give it another shot. This place is very unassuming but SO worth it. I have never had fajitas as good as this place. We always get the chicken and steak for 2. We also get the lentils as our side instead of the beans and it's so so yummy. This is our favorite Mexican food in Denton. Service is always friendly. This has been our go to place for good Mexican food since it opened and was called,"Mi Taza." Manuel, the manager, has always been welcoming and attentive since our first time there. Where has Manuel gone????? We have not seen him for a month or so. Last night we were in and the service was subpar to say the least. We waited 7-10 minutes for a waitress/waiter to come by and begin our order. A girl wasn't sure if she was suppose to take care of us. We ordered drinks, my husband wanted the happy hour special," Corona and Corona Lite Happy Hour All Day". He ordered a Corona and the date, best used by, had expired last month. He saw that after the waitress ask him, "How's your beer?" When our order came, my order was totally wrong and the girl questioned my ordering. The music was so loud that she did not hear correctly what I ordered. My husband was waiting to eat; however we were never brought any utensils to eat with. When I asked a waiter going by he said, "Just a minute!!" My husband sat there looking at his food. My order came out pretty quick and it was good as usual. When the bill came they charged regular price for an out of date beer. My husband questioned the price and the waitress said it was 2 for 1, buy 2 and get one 1/2 off. That was not on the sign and she did not give that info when my husband asked about the happy hour! We were disgusted with the whole situation and the manager just sat behind the counter the whole time, unlike Manuel who worked the floor and visited with everyone. We will not return anytime soon.
