Super Sandy's is a hidden gem tucked away in Lewisville. Literally, you can't see it until you're almost at its parking (which there was plenty of when I went). The restaurant is clean and modern with a bright and welcoming aesthetic. The waitperson on staff was incredibly attentive and friendly; she was not confident in her English but my Spanish and her English combined were enough that all of our food (even with change requests) came out exactly as ordered and cooked to perfection. If you don't speak Spanish, don't let this dissuade you, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and knew exactly what my non-Spanish companions wanted without my subpar linguistic assistance. She made fantastic recommendations and accurately told us that everything on the menu was good. The menu had a great variety from shawarma to empanadas. The waitperson was very good about proactively telling us what they were out of (only a couple of things--lasagna and soup). I don't think you can go wrong with anything you can choose. I ordered the Pepito with mushrooms and chicken. It was AMAZING. Perfectly seasoned and so satisfying. My husband ordered a cordon bleu and a fish empanada along with a pizza pastele. Our daughter ordered the Venezuelan take on chicken shawarma. They greatly enjoyed their meals and we all enjoyed the mini empanadas we shared (two pork, two beef, and two chicken is the default). I also savored every drop of my Especial Super Sandys cocktail. The only drawback to this place is it is right next to my work, so I'm going to be constantly ordering from here or hating myself for not doing so. This is a unique little cafe in Flower Mound. We were looking for something new and different; off our beaten path. Well...we found it, thanks to YELP!! It's advertised as Venezuelan cuisine and we had no idea what that meant. However, we do enjoy empanadas and they listed them on their menu. We ordered several pasteles and 1 empanada. I'm not sure what the difference is....they're both like a hand-held fried pie. The E's are larger than the P's. The ground beef variety was our favorite....VERY good. The ham and cheese was the next best. The pizza flavor was OK, but wouldn't order it again. The chicken variety was our least favorite. The creamy cilantro dipping sauce was amazing!! Super Sandy's is a tiny little place that is kind of hard to find, they definitely need a sign closer to the street to make it easier. They serve authentic Venezuelan food with bold and comforting flavors. The portions are ginormous and very filling. You can enjoy dishes like arepas, pabellón criollo, empanadas, and cachapas. The prices are reasonable- the flavors are amazing and totally worth it. On top of that, the people there are super friendly and the service is really nice. Nice ambience. It's a little hidden since you can't see this place from the street. But once you find it! We had cachapas de cochino frito and a shawarma. Both on point! In Venezuela their beer is Polar and it's pretty good too. Service is pretty quick and they had live music. read more

Located in Flower Mound, Super Sandy's is hidden behind the shops located along Cross Timber Road where you see an unassuming entrance and inside a honey vibe with some modest seating. We ordered four different types of grilled empanadas. Staff and service here is very friendly and there is some quality here. I had the chicken, camarones (shrimp) and two types of beef empanadas. One was shredded beef and the other had cheese in it. Was greasy delicious comfort food at its finest. Oh my goodness, what a find! We ordered empanadas: beef, chicken, and ham/cheese, chicken arepas, and the sopa de rez (beef soup). The flavors were hands down amazing! The empanadas were huge, a lot bigger than ones I'm used to! But the soup, I will be craving this broth for years to come. It really doesn't get better than this place. Although there was a language barrier, we weren't left hanging to figure out why to order. Everyone was so helpful and patient. Give them a try, you'll be back. If it's your first time, don't be discouraged by the location. It's tucked into a corner between buildings and not visible from the street. This place is amazing! We ordered the Arepas (chicken), empanadas (shrimp and pabellon), Cachapa with fried pork. Every single thing was fantastic! The fried pork was a major stand out and cooked perfectly. They also gave a sauce that was amazing on everything. I don't know what the sauce is but it seemed to be cilantro based and was one of the best sauces I have ever had! Tucked away in a back corner making you think it's the rear entrance of another store from youll find super Sandy's. It takes a minute to find it but the search is worth the hunt. While largely Hispanic speaking made it hard for this monolingual everyone was kind and happy to help where they could. I had done my research and found pictures of what I wanted ahead of time and I was not let down. Start off with some tequinos. These are like small dinner rolls baked to perfection around a pillow of delicious cheese. Then I went with the empanada de pabellon. My gosh. The pork was tender and beautifully seasoned. The beans and cheese surrounded it all and kept it warm while adding a great texture and taste and the plantain sweetness helped balance it all. I'll be back Sandy! My wife is Venezuelan and she gives Sandy's a hearty thumbs up; she says it's just like her mother's cooking! The restaurant is literally a hole in the wall in the back of a shopping strip. It's a small hole in the wall place that is hidden on the opposite side of the Point After North. I honestly thought that was where the Point After North Employees parked and that was their rear entrance, but it's Super Sandys storefront. Their empanadas are big and filling. I also had a chicken lunch plate that had super tender roast chicken, rice, and a delicious potato salad. Definitely going to come back here again soon! read more

Great food, great service! The arepas and empanadas are bomb. Sopa de res is delish (Sunday only) and Agua de maracuya is so refreshing.
