Which is why it was such a surprise to open the door and find a bustling and full restaurant that was packed well after we left. The service is friendly and super-efficient though so we did not have to wait long for our food. And the food is amazing! The cachapas are the real deal - great corn flavor and loaded with cheese. Pro tip: the fried pork is better IMO than the beef (and a little cheaper) - tender, juicy and very well seasoned. Both the tequenos and the mushroom pastel are delicious as well - don't forget to add their avocado salsa to EVERYTHING. Next time I'll consider ordering the parillada which includes several meats and sides (for one = $20 but for two seems like a steal for $34!). This is one of the best South American restaurants I've been to in DFW and I highly recommend it!

I felt the authenticity, from the traditional food to the ambiance, with the music reminiscent of a Peruvian restaurant in the motherland. The service was very attentive and polite. Our server was very nice and accommodating especially when we had to return the pisco sours which were inadequate and replaced. I ordered the Pescado a lo Macho en Salsa de Mariscos, fried fish filet mixed with seafood, Squid rings, Clams, and Shrimp, in special cream, served with steamed rice and yucca. The special cream sauce was very flavorful but they could have cut back on the salt, my only complaint. And of course, the Pisco Sours were for digestive purposes only. I will definitely be back to try some of the delectable delights that I eyeballed on the menu.

The lady was really nice and pleasant and helped a couple gringos order dinner. :) Tried their street tacos and had a barbacoa, pastor, and carnitas. It came with rice and beans. May have been an off night. But I can't say that anything was awesome or would I would consider GOOD. It was just kinda meh. The barbacoa had a lot of grease, which I would expect to be very flavorful. It was somewhat bland. The pastor was really dry and probably my least favorite. It may have just been in the warmer all day or something. The carnitas wasn't bad. It was tender and the best flavor. Their salas were good. The green didn't have any heat to it and had a pleasant taste. The red one had a nice flavor but made me sweat a bit. The rice was light, fluffy and tasted food. The beans were beans... not a ton of flavor could've used some salt. Decent dining experience. It's in an older gas station. Not the cleanest place (not the taqueria's fault), but it wasn't nasty. Won't swear this place off, but not in a rush to go back. Service was fast and friendly. May have been an off night for them. There are worse places to eat....
