So we went for the Egusi soup. It was very good with the swallow. The chicken that we ordered with the soup was undercooked. But the soup and the swallow were amazing. Delicious. We also got the jollof rice and it was amazing. Also plantains were cooked perfectly caramelized deliciously. I got the goat meat side and there was only bones no meat so that seemed like a very bad deal to spend $34 for rice and two water bottles. Even if the rice was very delicious. I would definitely give Egusi soup again and the rice again, but I wouldn't get any of the meats. Ordered on doordash, so i can't comment on the interior nor the service. We ended up getting fufu (pando yam) & egusi soup along with an order of ogbono soup. Also added in one meat pie. Everything was about 100 bucks, for 3 entrees and one meat pie. (kinda expensive, if you ask me). for myself, i had the fufu and egusi dish, and it was my first time ever trying Nigerian food. I really wanted to try it since i saw multiple videos online with people trying it and it look so interesting and delicious. honestly, it was quite an experience. You take a small piece of the fufu and shape it into a ball and dip it into the egusi soup. trust me, your hands will get very dirty after eating it. The reason i'm giving this place a 3 stars is that the portions were on the smaller side and the meat that came in the egusi soup was really tough to chew through. Flavor was good, but it was a bit on the spicy side...Also, the meat pie was kinda dry and lacking flavor. i still want to find a legit restaurant that serves fufu and egusi, but i don't know if i'll come back. Yalll this plate is huge for a kids!!! One! And two!! The food the jollof is a solid 8.5!! It could be spicier but that's just me!! I'm in love especially with the chicken/stew!! Omg. One other person said it best. I spent over 250$ because I thought I hit the jackpot and don't mind paying for great food. But........... baby they are stingy with the portions. I literally paid 27$ for 2 pieces of small meat and a 4th of a bowl of stew. I can't make this up. The catfish pepper soup was on point, the Amla, and pound yam were really nicely made. it's just simply a shame that the stews were little to nothing and the meat to nothing So let's talk about the flavor, the seasoning and the spices. My pallet tolerates heat and expects heat and African Food give him the habanero peppers and the scotch bar said they use I was ready for some heat. Newsflash there was none and little seasoning. They lied to us with the pricing of the menu. They told us the menu online was old and the menu in person was updated to reflect the new items and price. Come to find out at checkout the "new menu" pricing was old and we were charged more for everything than what was reflected on the menu they gave us in person. I tired the Egusi with Fried a fish and Iyan. The flavor is great and seasoned very mild spice! The only thing is the fish was over fried almost dried like not flaky at all which was disappointing especially since it cost extra. Other than that I would give them a try I have been disappointed a few times where I ordered fish and they sent chicken or the portions were a bit small for what you pay but this last time was my best experience besides the first time! The food was mediocre. They're are plenty of other places to go to in the area so please do not waste your money here. None of the workers have masks on. The cook did not have on a mask or gloves and the restaurant just looked unsanitary. The cashier who rang me up was extremely rude. Not once did she say a word to me not even to read me my total, instead she put her hand out rather than asking for payment. She was too busy laughing on the phone to even say a word me abs when I told her that this was my first time here and it's rude to be on the phone laughing and chatting while you're taking care of a customer she caught an attitude.
