    Lemongrass beef

A neighborhood staple that never disappoints, this local gem has earned its loyal following for good reason. From the welcoming atmosphere to the consistently delicious food, it's easy to see why people keep coming back. Whether you're craving a comforting bowl of pho or one of their other flavorful dishes, there's really no wrong choice. On this visit, I ordered the lemongrass beef, and it absolutely hit the spot. The meat was flavorful and satisfying, and I was especially grateful that it arrived so quickly because I came in starving. If you're under the weather be sure to order their pho. It's equally impressive, with a rich, aromatic broth that will warm your belly (and keeps this diner coming back time and time again). The restaurant itself is cozy and inviting, yet surprisingly spacious with plenty of seating. It's the perfect spot to get together with friends or family for a quick lunch, or comforting dinner.

Highly recommend their Maryland Fried Chicken. It was absolutely worth the drive for me. The rice was incredibly flavorful, and the chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. It comes with a homemade ginger sauce that I drizzled over the rice and used as a dipping sauce for the chicken. I actually found this place by accident while looking for another restaurant with the same name at Eden Center. I'm not sure if they have the same owner, but I spotted the fried chicken on the menu and decided to give it a try. It completely exceeded my expectations! The staff explained that they poach the chicken beforehand to help retain moisture before deep frying it, which explains why it was so tender and crispy. Definitely a dish I'll be coming back for.

With my family visiting at the time, we wanted to take them to get some good Vietnamese food and we saw lots of great things about this place so we gave it a try. We ordered the Roasted Quail as our appetizer and it was pretty tasty. The sauce paired well with it. The quail just didn't have much meat to it. We also got the Seafood Egg Noodle Soup which was pretty good. It definitely had a large portion of noodles. My boyfriend got the Crispy Maryland Chicken which is what they're pretty known for. He loved his dish and thought it was delicious. Service was okay and place was pretty clean.

I love good banh xeo,I was pleasantly surprised that it is pretty meaty. They put decent amount of shrimp and pork. the OG MD chicken w/ red fried rice is a must as well. Very tender chicken, crispy sklin.

This place was super busy when I stopped in to grab takeout after a nice walk Pine lake. Solid Vietnamese spot that I'm glad I don't have to drive to VA for! I got the duck noodles, banh mi bo nuong (grilled beef), and Maryland chicken. I was bummed since they were out of all story fry dishes so wasn't able to order what I originally wanted, but it was all really great! Nice portion sizes, good flavor. I would say the duck noodles were just a tad salty for me and I prefer a little more crisp on the duck skin, but the Maryland chicken was a standout for a reason! The sauce was gingery and perfect- really great with the side of pickled veggies. Super solid banh mi as well. Will definitely be back!

We walked in on a Saturday afternoon and got seated right away without a reservation. You HAVE to try the young coconut juice. It's so refreshing and comes with 2 young coconut slices inside which are soft, sweet and delicious. I wish I got an extra juice to go! Summer Rolls: 10/10. Peanut sauce was yummy and I can't think of anything to make them better. Maryland Fried Chicken: 9/10. The perfect crispy skin and the dipping sauce is tangy yet sweet giving an explosion of flavor. Definitely wasn't as good the next day in my air fryer so I recommend eating it there. Pho: P5 Tái- sliced eye round steak: 7/10. It was good but nothing memorable. There's closer/better places to get pho in DC. I'll definitely be back for the chicken, apps & coconut juice!

This place was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. We came early on a Friday so they weren't busy, but by lunchtime more and more people started to come in. We seated ourselves and they took our order right away. The outside of the building isn't much to look at nor is the decor on the inside, but I find that places like these have the best food. I ordered the vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and my husband ordered the crispy Maryland chicken. We also ordered some bahn mi sandwiches to go. Everything was delicious. Definitely try the crispy Maryland chicken and if you've never had coconut juice try it at least once. I liked it so much. I looked for it at Costco and sure enough they had it, but it didn't taste as good. Similar but not exactly the same.

Rice noodle with broth on the side (hủ tiếu khô)

Gà xối mỡ has crispy skin and is moist inside. However, I'm not a fan of their spicy ginger sauce. The portion is big imo. Hủ tiếu is pretty good. Cọng hủ tiếu (the noodle) is chewy and probably the best noodle I have had in the US. The sauce for dry version is on the sweet side. The soup is a bit salty and I don't like really like the flavor of the broth. So I'd recommend going with the dry version. Great price great food!

I've been going to Mi La Cay ever since it opened many years ago. It's my go to when I want a quick delicious meal. Everything I've eaten here has been really good. There aren't many pho spots in Wheaton so I like the convenience of not having to go too far when I'm having a craving for Vietnamese food!

If you're looking for a really delicious meal in Wheaton, Mi La Cay should be on your list. I went one weekend when I was doing other shopping in the area and was really happy I did. The service is efficient, food comes out fast, steaming hot, and plated like the kitchen knows you've been thinking about this dish all day. I went with their famous crispy chicken, and now I understand why it has a reputation. Perfectly golden, with a crunch that announces itself before the first bite, it was seasoned so well that I found myself pausing between bites just to appreciate it. The chicken somehow manages to be juicy without sacrificing that shatteringly crisp skin, which feels like a culinary magic trick. Here's the kicker: it was so good, I came back the very next day. (I know what I like haha.) And guess what? The second round was just as delicious, proving Mi La Cay isn't a one-hit wonder. If you're after flavor, speed, and value, this little spot delivers all three. We were so full of food we were pleasantly surprised when we got the bill and saw we paid $35 for two big plates and a soda.

Mi La Cay is one word: consistent. They're part of my regular rotation -- not because the food is life-changing, but because it shows up and does its job every single time. And I respect that.I tend to bounce between the Bun Bo Hue and the Bun Ga Ca Ri (curry chicken soup, extra limes). Both hit the spot in that comforting, reliable way.Service can vary depending on who's serving you, but most of the time it's good and efficient. No drama, no surprises -- just solid soup and a dependable meal.

One of the only places I found spicy pho! Delicious and one of the best pho places in the DMV area. They have lots of other viet dishes as well which are super yummy. My friend is obsessed with the fried chicken on tomato rice. The lemongrass chicken was yummy too. Service is fast, pho came out pretty quickly. Will probably come again, new go to for viet food!!

Had dinner here with friends and I had the pork chops with eggs and rice. The pork chop is marinated so well and is so delicious. It came with plenty of white rice and salad. My friend ordered the Quail with rice, pho and some noodles. The spring roll is also very good. They offered boba tea and smoothie as well.

This place offers Vietnamese cuisine, with a menu that goes a bit beyond the standards and has some decent vegan options, which is essential given that this is a notoriously hippie neighborhood. I found many people talking about having or not having reservations, but I managed to get in early. They had a slight happy hour discount on rolls, and Vietnamese rolls are invariably great, for reasons that include taro root, but here the roll was really a platter with multiple vegetables; since they came out freshly fried, I actually did a bit of a lettuce wrap technique to be able to break apart and eat them. Ordering a tofu vermicelli bowl got me a good but not great rendition; the cucumbers are not to my taste and the sauce they had to drizzle over it, while fish-free, was a bit sweet and not to my taste either. The portion size wasn't huge for the price, but fortunately I wasn't starving. Having said that, they also had a small market section with imported goods and house sauces and pickled vegetables that looked nice, and the fresh herbal flavors I received certainly made a strong case for me to come back and try something different.
