Must try this place! I had already been to the Grapevine location and was very excited to see another location open closer to home. I'm generally not a chain person, but this is definitely a go-to Mexican restaurant fix. The fajitas are tender, juicy, and flavorful. They have multiple options of salsa and sauces. The ambience and service are optimal with indoor and patio seating. Enjoy!! read more

Excellent food. The table made guacamole is amazing. Fresh tortilla chips, and killer salsa that is very spicy. I really enjoyed the vegetarian chili Riano, and love the fact that they have vegetarian refried beans. My wife's enchiladas were excellent, and my daughters loved the nachos. As good as the food is, The drinks are even better. The margaritas are very strong, using fresh ingredients that taste excellent. My wife's strawberry margarita was like drinking strawberries. We will definitely be back. Service was kind of slow, but they were very busy for Tuesday night read more

My friends suggested Mi Dia for dinner and drinks last night. They had been before, but I had not been. First, the place itself is really nice without being 'too' nice. For those of you who live here, you know what that means in this town of sometimes uppity places. Second, the drink menu is huge so if you have a hard time with decisions, good luck! Haha I mostly drink Tito's so it's always an easy choice for me. I did try some drinks my friends had and they were very tasty. Third, the waitress we had was new, but she did a good job. She had some hiccups, but overall she did a good job with a party of 6. Fourth, the food was really good. The salsa is delicious. It's a bit smoky, which I normally do not care for, but it was tasty. We also had the queso fundido and the table side guacamole which were delicious. That guac was so good. I had the shrimp fajitas, which were good. The shrimp were a good size and definitely gulf shrimp, which I like. I hate local restaurants that don't use gulf shrimp. Really? Come on now. Fifth, management. Excellent. My dinner came out about 7 minutes before everyone else's. It was piping hot so I let it cool while I waited for my friends to get their food. We did find it odd that they bought one dinner out and not all dinners around the same time. Once everyone has their meal, the manager came out of nowhere with a fresh dinner for me and apologized for it coming out early. We were really impressed by that. Overall, great experience and highly recommended. read more

The food was great, but my husband and I both got food poisoning from here. Yeah... We had a terrible experience at first with the hostess being super rude. Our waiter was one of the best waiters around, others should learn from him. He made up for the seriously horrible first impression. We spoke to the manager as well. Don't sell yourself short on not making sure others know what's happening in the restaurant. Customer experience is everything and a bad review with no explanation will help them correct the problem. However, we didn't know we would be hurling at the house hours later... read more

This hibiscus champagne margarita is the best way to start! Then of course start with the table side guac. OMGSH, I wish I had thought to add bacon! It's amazing but save room for dinner. The sea bass street tacos are the best! Perfectly grilled, full of flavor and well worth the price. Next time, I will try the Duck street tacos. We also had the chimichanga with chicken it was good but I've had better. I wasn't a big fan of the rice and beans but between the guac and tacos there was not any extra room in my belly! There was about a 15 minute wait on a Friday evening but we were seated pretty quickly and our server was great! I can't wait to go back!! read more

I have heard alot about this restaurant so I finally got to try it. I went during lunch, but before 3:00 p.m. so I could get the lunch special pricing. The service was good because they were not crowded. The waiter was nice. The chips and salsa were excellent. They give you both red and green salsa. I ordered the stacked enchiladas for $12. I could tell it was homemade and fresh. I just didn't care for it. It was just ground beef on top of a thin tortilla, with alot of sauce, and 2 runny eggs on top. I'm sure their other entrees are good though. They had an extensive drink menu but real pricey. It's good, just not great, and pricey. 3.5 stars. read more

We got sat in a cute booth in the middle of the restaurant - has cute ambiance. We all tried different drinks, I got the Guava Champagne Margarita, and a Mango Margarita, my friends had the house frozen margaritas. We shared a bowl of gauc and the escrites (corn). YUM. This is an update to my prior review. I'm updating because we heard from the manager regarding our experience. Note: This WAS one of our favorite places based on the tasty food. However the drinks are very inconsistent - I've had some that were good, but I've had several there that had practically zero alcohol in a margarita. And best of all, when you point this out to the bar tender, they are actually arrogant and argue with you saying they make them all the same. Really? I mean come on! Definitely not the case. Life's too short to deal with that. The hostess has an attitude and rolled her eyes at us after we waited and asked several times about empty tables while we sat at the bar. As I noted above, I did get a response from the manager agreeing that this is not acceptable. And he asked us to come back and try it again, indicating they wanted to make it right. Normally I'd say no but we do like the food and Manager seemed to be addressing the service issue, so, sure we will give it another shot. And the promised voucher never came. So I emailed the manager asking if this was coming.....NO RESPONSE. Ok, so there you have it. To me that basically says "don't come back, we have plenty of customers". Fine, service is great at Mesa Maya and Mesero, both 5 minutes away. The only reason to even consider this place is the location being near the theater but I'd rather drive 5 minutes for better service. Bye bye..... read more

I am a huge Santa Fe food fan. If it has green chiles, it will more than likely end up on my plate. My husband, mother in law and myself dined at Mi Dia in Plano last Saturday afternoon. It was even better than anticipated! First, the salsa and queso are great on their own. But the tableside guacamole with bacon, are you kidding me? Why haven't I been eating guacamole this way all along? Amazing! Now bacon will have to be with all guacamole for it to even measure up. My husband had the tampiquena and added two fried eggs. He usually does not eat all of his order whenever we eat out. He cleaned his plate! I half expected him to lick the plate. Mom had the steak tacos carbon and they were delicious. I had the XMAS burrito with just green chile sauce. This thing is huge! I almost ate all of it but saved room for dessert. This evening I ate the other half. And I will say it was even better! Dessert was the churros with the Modelo ice cream. This was a perfect ending to a memorable meal. Our service was great. Berto was our waiter and did a great job. Ron, the manager, also made awesome food recommendations and made sure not only our table but all the other tables were enjoying their experience. I will say to get there early because the place was filling up quick when we left. This place will definitely be one of our regular spots! read more

Excellent every time. This is one of our go to's for an excellent meal. The food is ALWAYS delicious. Anything you try, you will not be disappointed. Tonight we had the carne asada and the mucho plato (fajita chicken, beef, quail, ribs, and shrimp brochette). The quail is my usual but I split the Mucho Plato with my daughter. They get the food right every single time. The guys running the front, Nate and Samuel, were killing it. They were working so hard and getting things done. Our waitress, Maria, and Ron kept the drinks and food coming. Excellent service. This is why we keep coming back. Delicious food and service that makes you feel like you matter. read more

We were seated promptly.Cold chips were bought to the table as well as water with no straws. After tgat me and my wife were not approached .Nobody asking if they could take our order.......The supposed manager was even at the table directly next to us and never asked if we were well taken care of.We had several wait staff pass our table even after we began to taste the food we were reading from the menu. After 20 minutes of eating cold chips and waiting without asking for the corporate owner to take our order a waitress named Ariana (A wonderful person) pleasantly asked have we been helped as we were the only couple out of EVERYONE who didn't have any food or drinks in the area. She apologized and took our order and even suggested menu Choices. Let see where to begin.... we had reservations for my hubs birthday tonight; first time there. 1) It took longer than normal to order. 2) As we were ordering she seemed confused (our order was not modified) 3) We ordered queso, never once were our chips refilled, so only 1/2 the queso was eaten 2) All the food came except for my hubs (she put in tacos and he ordered steak 3) I order the Baja shrimp tacos, fried - they were horrible, VERY fishy. I had to send them back. 4) Finally, hubs got his food and he did think it was very good (the reason for I gave at least 1 star). 5) I then ordered a pick 2 to replace the tacos. I waited forever and the server kept coming by asking if I got my food yet, really as if I never got any food to start. It was really odd. I finally told her to just not worry about it. She asked if I wanted it to go. I said it's fine I'll eat it if you can get it right out. 6) I do not think she ever put in the replacement food in. Finally, they brought out the food... I mean it was like eating at Taco Bell :( I got a chicken taco and tamale. 7) Kids meals were supposed to come with a dessert, which she never brought nor did she even offer the table dessert. 8) no discount at all. I was floored! My hubs did not want to complain. Service was a 1 out of 10. We went here because the reviews were great and my hubs had been really wanting to try it. He thinks it was mostly the server and we just had really bad luck. At a min she should have sent a manager over to apologize for her bad service and food. She even admitted the Baja Shrimp tacos are fishy and better grilled. read more

After a failed night of friends bailing on us. Boyfriend and I decided to grab a bite to eat. It was close and what we both could agree on. They do not take call ahead orders, but when we arrived the wait was no more than 5 minutes. We were seated quickly and our server was amazing. She was still in training but we would have never known if she did not say so. For drinks I ordered the prickly pear margarita. I'm not a big drinker and for me the small glass was perfect and we ordered queso to go with out chips. The queso was a bit spicy but perfectly. For entrees I had the steak chimchunga and he had the combination fajitas. Everything came out hot and was delicious. We ordered churros for dessert and they were fantastic. There were four to the order so a percent split for two people. We will definitely be coming back. read more

My friend and I ordered the same dish, the baja shrimp (grill) with steak and "a lot of" onions that filled up the entire skillet. Sorry to tell you I am not impressed with the food. The shrimps were overcooked and they were as hard as erasers. One of the shrimps was stale and smelled and tasted like Ammonia. When we placed our order, I am surprised that the server did not ask what "temperature" such as medium rare, medium or well done that we preferred for the steak. The steak was okay except everything tasted VERY VERY salty! I am not sensitive to salt and I usually can eat salt no problems but this time, the food was so salty that I could not even finish with the food. I didn't want to take my leftover home either. I think most people probably like to go there for drinks but since I don't drink, this place is NOT a good place for Tex-Mex or whatever you call that food. I am glad that I didn't get sick from eating there. I would rather go to on-the-border down the street. Their food is much better and the price is more reasonable ! read more

We checked in with reservations at 1:15, at 1:26 a server stood talking to the table next to us for 5 minutes holding a water pitcher, while our water glasses sat empty. We tried hailing down a server who ran off. We went to the host stand and we're told a server would come with a smirk. We left. Then they cancelled our reservation after we left I guess so they wouldn't have the open table negative review. Unfortunately bad service and commutation continues to be an issue foe this restaurant fairly consistently which is why I have the negative rating. read more

The restaurant is run super efficiently, but it is also very popular. This was our first time here, so it was surprising that it took longer to get our table than it did to get drinks, order, and get food. The salsa is excellent. Not mushy cooked salsa, it is thin with pieces of onion, cilantro, etc.... We loved the flavor, but there's definitely plenty of onion. Husband ordered a frozen margarita which he said was "limey and lush" with the perfect amount of salt. On our Deluxe Carne Asada and Carnitas plates, the meat was the star of the show. Beans, tortillas, rice, guac, cheese enchilada, and pico were all good, but the pork and beef were excellent. The marinade used on the carnitas left bright citrus hues. The asada was tender. The sopapilla was the most buttery tasting sopapilla I've ever had. The custom tables and chairs reflect the pride taken in having a nice space. We were very pleasantly surprised. It's even better in my opinion. The people are very warm and friendly. The food is really delicious. I love that they bring not only good salsa with their fresh hot chips, but also a tomatillo sauce and a black bean dip. We've now eaten there several times. The taco meat has a nicely charred flavor. The tamales were very good. (I'm picky about my tamales. I've tried their ranchero sauce, chili con carne, and sour cream sauce. None of them disappoint. Their rice isn't dry like it is at many other Tex-Mex places. And their $5.00 all day frozen margaritas are worth it. We usually go for the lunch specials that run until 4:00. This is for take out only. We did not eat in the restaurant because it was far from meeting the 50% capacity limit. I wish we had because the food is so much better eating in the restaurant. If you are getting to-go, the fajitas and quesadillas are great. The chips are perfectly crunchy and not oily. The Chicken Nachos however, are better skipped for take out. They take a great big chip, smear a teaspoon of refried beans with a tiny bit of cheese then put a hammered piece of white (already grilled) chicken breast on top. Then they put it into a broiler or something that dehydrates the entire thing until you end up with chicken jerky on top of dehydrated bean flour on top of a dried out chip. I have ordered it twice thinking the first time surely was a fluke. It was not. Also, they do not offer online ordering. You will have to call the restaurant to place your order. The Guy who answered was very polite but they evidently do not offer them access to a computer that calculates totals. He said they would have the total when we pick up the order. However, he was happy to take my credit card info over the phone. Um yea no thanks. I would prefer, to not have my credit card info written down and carried around a restaurant for all of the staff (and other random people) to access. Anyway, the dog loved the chicken jerky and we will stick to the fajitas and quesadillas in the future. read more

I cannot write enough words to say how much I dig this place. I got hooked on the tacos the first time we ordered to-go. First of all, chips and salsa are delicious. Chips have a nice crunch and are not oily where you're left with grease marks on your fingers. The salsa is a half/half of red and green. We usually just mix it altogether and it's sooo good! When we had the chance to eat at the restaurant, we ordered a few other things in addition to the tacos. I created my own combo and had an enchilada, flauta, and chalupa. The chalupa was huge - not what I was expecting. The flauta was even bigger - so cripsy, packed with flavor, and I wish I ordered 5 more. The enchilada was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. If I had to order the combo plate again, I'd order all flautas or a combo of flautas and chalupas. The tacos were the winner winner chicken dinner of the night. Chicken tacos and duck tacos were both amazing! You can tell their ingredients truly are made from scratch and fresh. I just wanted to ask for more corn tortillas to take home! I can't believe it took me so long to try this place and am glad I did. I think after our first to-go order, we visited twice more within the week! read more

Decided to check this place out for lunch on Sunday to see what the hype was about. To summarize food was good but the service was terrible! Our waiter George came by and poured us tea when we wanted water then asked if we wanted tea instead...answer was no. Then we put in our order of queso and our meal. 30 minutes later the meal arrives and the queso was forgotten. Never came by to refill our drinks. Once we were done eating it took some time before he came by and asked if we wanted dessert - we responded no just the check. Another 20 mins roll by still no check. Finally a manager came by our table and asked if we needed anything and again we said just the check. After another 10 mins the waiter finally comes by with the check and didn't acknowledge the fact that he made us wait or forgot the queso. Just seemed like he didn't care. Needless to say was disappointed with the service but food was good...would give it another try. read more

I've never felt it necessary to Yelp until my experience here last night. I was having a rare night out on the town with my wife. A friend had suggested this place for margaritas. Wow! What a selection. Our waiter Brittany suggested a watermelon infusion.. My wife loved it! We were also directed to the New Mexico sauces available on the menu. I had a the steak and poblano pepper.. The flavors have never been so perfect. Hats off to the chef. Brittany was very attentive and seemed happy to be there. Ron who I assume was management stopped by and made sure we were doing well, chatted us up about his chef and suggested the Churros for desert... Another Bulls Eye ! As I was watching the Olympics, having great conversation with my wife, I realized what a great experience I was having.. Thank you for a great night. read more

Had dinner there Sunday night 11/15/2020 - the place looks super clean and prepped - everyone was doing their do diligence to cover their faces and wear gloves due to covid. The food was great, Modelo's were cold, and Ernesto our server was very kind and patient. We sat on the patio with the heat lamps on.
