Good atmosphere, great food and service. I've only been once, but I felt the menu was full of inventive and tasty dishes. I ordered the duck carnitas tacos and my partner got the steak fajitas. The duck carnitas were novel and delicious, their rice and beans were above average. The fajita steak was among the best I've had. I will be returning.

The food, The food, The FOOD!!!!! So good that this is the 1st time I have overeaten where I am in pain. So delicious and you can tell the food was prepared as smart experience as well. The ambiance is a family upbeat atmosphere. Our server Myrna was amazing. Kind, attentive and her suggestions were spot on. Definitely making this place a top gem in Plano and can't wait to go back. The manager came and greeted us as well.

Food here is pretty decent and the guacamole are ginormous and can feed a group of 4 . Some of the tacos can be better in flavor but it's decent enough and drinks are also decent .

Bf and I had a good dining experience here. Came in on a Saturday night with an estimated wait time of 25 min that was more like 15. Vibes were lovely at night, very low light and upscale. I got the steak fajitas. Definitely some of the best steak for fajitas I've had as my go-to for Tex mex. Very tender, easy to bite through. However, they didn't give me many toppings. I was given guac, sour cream and cheese along with tortillas. At other places I often get lettuce and tomatoes, lettuce at a minimum, so my fajitas felt a bit empty with just meat, cheese and sauces. Came with rice and beans, but I don't like either so they were given to my bf, who said he liked them. Bf got duck carnitas and enjoyed them. Said the duck was indistinguishable from something like pork but that they tasted good anyway. He really enjoyed the jam like sauce that came with and the beans. Overall, I enjoyed this place and would return. Bonus: we were given a WHOLE bag of chips with our to-go boxes unprompted. Win!

The best experience! Super sweet waitress- she explained the whole menu to us, including drinks, food, and history of the restaurant. She was amazing- I'm doing this review well after visiting so forgot her name but wish I could give kudos to her! We enjoyed our drinks, one recommended by the waitress- the riviera Maya. Both were great (and definitely had alcohol- be warned!) food was amazing! I wanted to try the spicy Santa Fe sauce, so I did enchiladas with two different sauces. The salsa was amazing. Chicken in enchiladas wasn't dry and the tortillas were so good. The manager came by to check on us, and after finding out it was our first time there, offered us free dessert! We unfortunately ran out of time and had to get going to an event, but overall a great experience and we talk about this place all the time!!

Mi Dia From Scratch is a great place to grab some lunch. I stopped by with some coworkers. The menu presented us with some difficult decisions. I ended up ordering the green chile tacos -- and they were really good! At first I thought that they were a bit small and that I hadn't ordered enough food - then I started eating them - and then I realized I couldn't finish. There ended up being more than enough. The tacos were - having the green chile - were on point. The staff were very friendly and the place is quiet enough where you can carry on a conversation. Will definitely be back!

We were there celebrating our 10 year anniversary. This was our first time being there and won't be our last. The food was amazing, our server Myran was amazing she took her time to explain the menu and had a cheerful attitude. The ambience is very nice we came at 5:30 but I'm sure an evening the lighting would be very romantic.. The manager took care of us as 1st time guests, Very much appreciated.

This place is mostly stellar and lovely. Nearly all the staff were sweet and the food comes out very quickly. My frustration and lower star rating is because of the manager. It's quite off-putting that the manager went to every CAUCASIAN table and asked how they were doing and if they did needed anything. Yet he ignored us because we're minorities? And this happened multiple times throughout our meal. It's a little discouraging so we will probably abstain from coming to this particular location in the future.

So this is Mexican food in a New Mexico style. This CA girl approves! We loved everything we got- no Tex Mex here! We recommend the tampequina and Santa Fe section of the menu in general. The salsa was flavorful and fresh.

My son flew into town and took me to such a nice dinner at Mi Dia. We hadn't been here before and walked in a little after 5p on a Friday. We were seated immediately. Our server was super sweet and had the best energy. He totally made our experience 5 stars. Loved him! We both started with spicy pineapple margs. These go down fast! We ordered the table side guac, delish!!!! We were pleased that when we said spicy it definitely had a kick. Our spicy isn't usually the idea of a restaurant's spicy when we do table side guac. We both said "this guy took us seriously". We both strayed away from basic items we were going to order when our server suggested different menu items and ordered two of the same entree, really hoping it was good. The shrimp enchiladas were OUTSTANDING!!! I mean, think you may have been eating them in CDMX if you didn't know you were in Plano, outstanding! Our server was the cutest little thing, with so much personality and really fun, he suggested a couple of really great cocktails for round two. We totally trusted him and had no clue what we were ordering when the first arrived, "when hell freezes over". This drink was impressive. I don't know that I'd need it on a regular basis but happy we tried it. The second was a dessert cocktail and soooo yummy, almost like an adult milkshake in a martini glass. We shared both and enjoyed the dessert cocktail with an on the house dessert of our choice ( a scrumptious Rocky road esque homemade ice cream, that was superb!) since we mentioned it was our first time here since I moved to town. Mi Dia came as a recommendation from a neighbor of mine and her daughter who spoke highly of them. Such a great spot, can't wait to return! By the time we left the entire place was full. Service exceeded my expectations and was really above, felt so nice, kind and sweet for our first time visit.

Mi Dia never fails to impress. From the food to the friendly service, I'm a fan. This location was nicely decorated with a center bar filled with different types of tequila. The tableside guac is always a star and a must for the table. Socially with all that good bacon mixed in, really filling and delicious and I also like to think it's healthy lol. The table salsa has a good kick to it too. You end up eating so much chips because of all the great dips. The enchiladas were outstanding and our server hooked it up with the brisket. The tamale was awesome too. Everything just hits here but, beware, your wallet also takes a hit too lol.

Gave this establishment a second shot because a friend wanted to meet there. Last time I have this place a 3-star. This round was a whole lot different. The vibe, energy, was great. We sat at the bar and had dinner because the restaurant was full on a Saturday evening. We ordered the ceviche, Carne Asada, and table side guacamole, which were all delicious and Strawberry and Mango Margaritas that were too strong or too sweet. It was the perfect balance. Both bartenders that helped us were wonderful and it changed my mind about returning. I'll be back.

I absolutely love Mexican food. I could eat it every meal every day and never get tired of it. That being said, I have tried hundreds of Mexican restaurants. I was very pleasantly surprised with Mi Dia. They have taken Mexican good to a new standard. Each dish has a trendy, modern presentation that truly delights! The service has been top notch every time I visit. The bar is a beautiful centerpiece to the trendy, eclectic dining room. The atmosphere is jovial and casual, and the staff is professional and friendly. The only thing to keep in mind is that the food prices are on the high side. $15 for an average salad is a bit extreme. The average bill per person for lunch is $20 which can be a stretch for some. read more

The average ratings attracted me to try this place, but I fail to understand why they are so high. I've had Tex Mex for about 15 years of my life now, and the food here was quite sub-par. In fact, the table-side guac was bad. The ingredients did not taste good and mix was far from fresh. Our waitress was very nice and she made us feel welcome. But there is more to a restaurant than just service, right? read more

My parents were visiting from NM and I saw this place had New Mexico Green & Red Chile. So we wanted stopped by to see if it was the real thing. Being from NM we take our Green & Red Chile serious and have high standards for flavor and hotness. We all got items from the Santa Fe section of the menu from Enchiladas, Tacos and Huevos Rancheros done Xmas style telling them the hotter the better. When we got done we were full and impressed on how good the food was. I definitely would recommend this place and I'm glad to have a spot where I can get my Green Chile fix. read more

Food was very good. Haylie was our sever and she was awesome. Her menu knowledge and recommendations were perfect. It is rare and refreshing to get this kind of service. Thank you Haylie. We will be back and will ask for you next time as well We have been back since last review and Haylie took care of us upon request. I visited this place for the first time and I must say the food and drinks were delicious. Chips and salsa was amazing as well. The service was ok, I was hoping for the same service like the other reviews but that didn't happen. My cup of water was never refilled and our waiter acted like he didn't want to give us fresh chips and salsa when our bowl became low! And he wasn't too friendly. Maybe better service next time. So I attempted to give this place another try and let's just say the food was delicious but the customer service is horrible!!! It took forever to get drinks for my children and then when we received one of the entrees it look as though there was hair and I tried to explain that and the guy said no I think it's corn, I'm thinking I didn't know corn was black, but whatever. When we were done we received the to go boxes and I put food in containers and sent my husband and children to car while I paid. I literally sat there for 15 minutes waiting on my ticket in which I had to ask for it, when it looks like the table next to me didn't have to ask for their check. I would hate to think this place is prejudice but at this point I'm thinking they are! It's sad that the food is so good but the service is horrible I'm guessing towards people who don't look the part. But please note Mi Dia's Staffdon't ever judge a book by the color! After my second review a manager by the name of Bryce reached out,he was very nice and apologized for our experience. Since then we've gone two more times and the food is always on point!!!! I love Mi Día!! It's my favorite Mexican restaurant in Plano now. Authentic Mexican, delicious seafood enchiladas, gorgeous patio (with heaters when it's cold), close to the fountain at the new West Village walking distance from Cinemark !! We were seated promptly.Cold chips were bought to the table as well as water with no straws.After tgat me and my wife were not approached .Nobody asking if they could take our order.......The supposed manager was even at the table directly next to us and never asked if we were well taken care of.We had several wait staff pass our table even after we began to taste the food we were reading from the menu.After 20 minutes of eating cold chips and waiting without asking for the corporate owner to take our order a waitress named Ariana (A wonderful person) pleasantly asked have we been helped as we were the only couple out of EVERYONE who didn't have any food or drinks in the area.She apologized and took our order and even suggested menu Choices. I understand business and the restaurant had a comfortable steady vibe but the wait staff as well as the management needs to be mor attentive.I will be back ....Not to this location...food was good but to be served promptly......................you'll be disappointed. read more

A surprise gem! I'm not sure how it's taken us so long to find this place. Tableside guac was very good...although ask what they can mix in before you agree for them to make it. A few surprise items on the table that I'm glad we asked clarification on before he got to work. Seafood enchiladas were really good although quite garlicky. Duck enchiladas I am told were good. The cocktails were so fun! I don't know which one I got but it was in a martini glass, purple, with st Germaine abs bubbling! Note: no pork in black beans but pork in refried. I chose this place for my birthday dinner a couple weeks ago. It was fantastic in all aspects. I made our 7:30 reservation for Friday on Wednesday. On Friday at 6:30 I realized I miscounted the number of people in the party. I called the restaurant and they did what they could to accommodate us. It worked out and we were able to keep the reservation. As far as the food goes, everything was great. The queso to start was pretty awesome. I personally think the tableside guac was a bit overrated. Not bad, but it didn't blow my socks off. I had the enchiladas del mar and my wife steak burritos. My friend has food allergies that they were able to work around as well. Everything tasted great. We will definitely be back. read more

The web site says they close at 10. We got there at 910 and they said they close at 9 "because of Covid".. I asked to talk to the manager. He came out and said that wasn't his fault it wAs corporate's fault. They control google and Yelp and "they don't listen" to the managers. Completely unprofessional manager and staff. read more

The food is amazing! A regular at the bar where I work told me about it. She suggested the stacked enchiladas and they were great! Food came out fast and hot! We were there around 2:40 so it was pretty slow the server was nice just not too attentive. We will definitely come back for the food! read more

This restaurant is awesome! I ended up getting drinks, appetizers, main meal and dessert! The tequila tower is awesome! The table service queso appetizer with bacon and pineapple is amazing! The mole green sauce is my favorite! The red smokey salsa was good too, but not my favorite. I ended up getting a Tex Mex combo of a sour cream enchilada and a beef crispy taco for the main meal! The street corn is very fresh and good! It's in the appetizer section! The sorbet is very refreshing. The hibiscus flavor was the best! Try to get Vincent as a server! He's awesome! He was very knowledgeable on the menu, the background of the company and funny too! I would highly recommend this place and ask for Vincent when you go! read more

My lunch date stood me up, so I got to focus on the food and service. My waitress was appropriately attentive during the busy lunch hour. She checked on me now and then while I waited for my friend. When my friend said he wasn't going to make it. I easily caught her eye and she came over after she dropped off something else. She checked after the food was delivered, and for the bill. I never felt like I was waiting for her. The chips were great (I added salt). The salsa had a kick, but wasn't overpowering. The chicken enchilada was solid - not extraordinary, but very good. My only complaint is that it seems impossible to get cell service in the restaurant. A guest at a nearby table also experienced this issue. read more

This is for take out only. We did not eat in the restaurant because it was far from meeting the 50% capacity limit. I wish we had because the food is so much better eating in the restaurant. If you are getting to-go, the fajitas and quesadillas are great. The chips are perfectly crunchy and not oily. The Chicken Nachos however, are better skipped for take out. They take a great big chip, smear a teaspoon of refried beans with a tiny bit of cheese then put a hammered piece of white (already grilled) chicken breast on top. Then they put it into a broiler or something that dehydrates the entire thing until you end up with chicken jerky on top of dehydrated bean flour on top of a dried out chip. I have ordered it twice thinking the first time surely was a fluke. It was not. Also, they do not offer online ordering. You will have to call the restaurant to place your order. The Guy who answered was very polite but they evidently do not offer them access to a computer that calculates totals. He said they would have the total when we pick up the order. However, he was happy to take my credit card info over the phone. Um yea no thanks. I would prefer, to not have my credit card info written down and carried around a restaurant for all of the staff (and other random people) to access. Anyway, the dog loved the chicken jerky and we will stick to the fajitas and quesadillas in the future. read more

I cannot write enough words to say how much I dig this place. I got hooked on the tacos the first time we ordered to-go. First of all, chips and salsa are delicious. Chips have a nice crunch and are not oily where you're left with grease marks on your fingers. The salsa is a half/half of red and green. We usually just mix it altogether and it's sooo good! When we had the chance to eat at the restaurant, we ordered a few other things in addition to the tacos. I created my own combo and had an enchilada, flauta, and chalupa. The chalupa was huge - not what I was expecting. The flauta was even bigger - so cripsy, packed with flavor, and I wish I ordered 5 more. The enchilada was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. If I had to order the combo plate again, I'd order all flautas or a combo of flautas and chalupas. The tacos were the winner winner chicken dinner of the night. Chicken tacos and duck tacos were both amazing! You can tell their ingredients truly are made from scratch and fresh. I just wanted to ask for more corn tortillas to take home! Decided to check this place out for lunch on Sunday to see what the hype was about. To summarize food was good but the service was terrible! Our waiter George came by and poured us tea when we wanted water then asked if we wanted tea instead...answer was no. Then we put in our order of queso and our meal. 30 minutes later the meal arrives and the queso was forgotten. Never came by to refill our drinks. Once we were done eating it took some time before he came by and asked if we wanted dessert - we responded no just the check. Another 20 mins roll by still no check. Finally a manager came by our table and asked if we needed anything and again we said just the check. After another 10 mins the waiter finally comes by with the check and didn't acknowledge the fact that he made us wait or forgot the queso. Just seemed like he didn't care. I've never felt it necessary to Yelp until my experience here last night. I was having a rare night out on the town with my wife. A friend had suggested this place for margaritas. Wow! What a selection. Our waiter Brittany suggested a watermelon infusion.. My wife loved it! We were also directed to the New Mexico sauces available on the menu. I had a the steak and poblano pepper.. The flavors have never been so perfect. Hats off to the chef. Brittany was very attentive and seemed happy to be there. Ron who I assume was management stopped by and made sure we were doing well, chatted us up about his chef and suggested the Churros for desert... Another Bulls Eye ! Had dinner there Sunday night 11/15/2020 - the place looks super clean and prepped - everyone was doing their do diligence to cover their faces and wear gloves due to covid. The food was great, Modelo's were cold, and Ernesto our server was very kind and patient. We sat on the patio with the heat lamps on. It was very comfortable sitting outside even when the sun set and the temperature was dropping. This is a nice place to visit, easy access off the North Dallas Tollway. Holy crap!!! Probably not the best choice of word to describe a restaurant, but it was literally the first thing I said when I tasted the food. I had lunch at Mia Día From Scratch and it was great. The food was fresh and flavorful, and the prices were reasonable for the portions. We especially loved the ceviche. Our new favorite real Santa Fe style New Mexican place. Real red and green chile, with blue corn tortillas if you want. Think "The Shed" and more! Cannot stay away. You know how good a restaurant is going to be when they have good chips and salsa. Everything from the margarita to the meal was just about perfect.
