Stopped in for drinks after grabbing pizza in the area. The energy was pretty live for happy hour. We beelined for the bar to avoid waiting for a table. The bartenders immediately poured water and handed us menus. I believe this is a tequila bar considering the long list of options. Another great find from Yelp! My family and I visited Mi Dia From Scratch for dinner and it was great! The table shared the queso fundido which was prepared table side and was amazing. This was served a bit differently than I've had it at other restaurants as they wrapped the queso inside the tortillas instead of having the tortillas on the side. I shared the Baja shrimp and carnitas de michoacan street tacos and they were great. The restaurant had a lot of indoor and outdoor seating so we were seated right away on a busy Friday night. read more

Hadn't been to Mi Dia in years and decided to meet friends there for lunch. I had a watermelon margarita which was very good but it should have been spectacular for $18. One of my friends had the enchiladas which were good but comparable to a chain restaurant quality. Two of the other people in the group had the chicken chimichanga with rice and beans. The refried beans were ok but rather dry. The chimichangas were a big portion and both of them liked them. I had the spinach quesadilla. It had great flavor but the bottom was so soggy. How can something so simple be SO AMAZING!! Mi Dia, you truly have won the award for the BEST table side guacamole in town! All I can say is WOW!! The gentleman that made it asked us if we wanted spicy, medium, or mild. I chose in between, and it was perfect!! I got all the fixings including bacon and that was a nice touch. The service was great, our server was Daniel D and he was so attentive and he knew the menu well which was great! The tortilla soup was broth based instead of red tomato based like some places so I loved it! The bartender really knows how to make a drink, and they have a 6 page drink menu, so if you like cocktails, or if you just appreciate a good tequila, this is your place!! The bathrooms were clean as well. My only recommendation would be to show up early if you are meeting someone because the parking is horrendous!!! First of all they are very kind. They also let us make reservations and we're willing to seat us before the entire party was there. This place got busy fast at lunch time. The staff is amazing. Knowledgeable and helpful. The service is also fast. It is definitely as many know a well run restaurant. I ordered a vegan plate which was the huitlacoche enchiladas. We recently decided Mi Dia is our favorite restaurant. We eat here frequently and took a family member from out of town to try last week. We showed up around dinner time so the restaurant was busy, waiting about 30 minutes for our table. This was not a big deal to us at all. After we were seated our waitress was amazing, quick, and helpful. The food, as always, was delicious! Worth noting that 3 adults + 1 margarita was only $85! 1st time in Dallas and Hubby and I wanted to Mexican food. Google pointed us here. So glad it did. We went for lunch and it was delightful. There was a 35-45 minute wait but I think we waited maybe 20-25 minutes. Yelp warned me that it may be a wait so we were cool. Our server Diego was great. He was clearly pretty busy as he would take a few minutes to return to our table sometimes but no complaints there. Definitely didn't give the vibe of a Mexican restaurant but it was still cool. 1. Chips and salsa - literally the best we've had in a while. It was super fresh and tasty. 2. Tableside Guacamole - soooooo good!! Definitely a must have. 3. Chile con Queso - it was okay. Definitely didn't need this but wanted to try it. 4. I ordered the Baja Shrimp tacos!! The biggest shrimp that I have seen in forever. Just one deep Fried shrimp on each taco with pickled cabbage. Quite tasty. It came with guajillo rice and beans. Was not a fan of the taste of the rice, but that is personal presence. 5. The hubby ordered a vegetarian dish. It looked super fresh. Valet parking available. We parked close by, but it's very busy here. Our waiter was super nice and we ordered a number of appetizers. Chips and individual salsas came the with meal. I ordered what I thought was a dessert, and it to be a dessert drink that was mixed with ice cream and strawberries and Petrone. It was actually quite delicious, although it was a surprise when I asked about it he didn't explain to me that it was actually a drink. In short: some of the best Mexican cuisine we've ever had stateside. Their menu features all the "usual" Mexican fare you are already familiar with, but they also have some unique offerings that you must check out. Our party of 7 had dinner here a couple of Saturdays ago. We didn't have a reservation in advance, but they were able to accommodate us at an outdoor table with no wait. Granted, it was a cool evening, but we were seated adjacent to the exterior wall of the restaurant and the heat lamps above kept us cozy throughout the meal. Their house margarita is delicious, and my Hatch Tacos were fantastic - some of the best non-street tacos I have had in recent memory, made with high quality ingredients and just the right size to satisfy my appetite. Our server was attentive and friendly and while their prices may be a little more than folks will pay elsewhere, the quality of the food plus the atmosphere and service make it worthwhile. I got one beef and one chicken enchilada, a pork tamale and a taco filled with steak. I wanted more spice so they brought out a black hot sauce which had a good kick. The salsa was fresh. We also spell it with an E at the end. I digress, when I first heard of Mi Dia, It was told it was a "New" Mexican restaurant. I ever never explained it was a "New Mexican Restaurant" turns out the head chef grew up in my home state! All that to say, the food was magnifico! I ordered the Burrito from the New Mexico menu. Blew my mind how big this bad boy was. Never thought I would eat the whole thing but to be honest, If I could unhinge my jaw like a snake, I would swallow this burro whole! Great Tex Mex at Grapevine, I enjoyed happy hour and dinner here. Must try their green one that smokes cocktail. I think it might called something frozen over? I explained the pictures I saw on Yelp and I asked for green one with smokes, she understood exactly what I meant and explained to me that was their signature drink. Their green salsa is very spicy, I didn't mix it but my colleague did and she said it made the salsa so spicy! If you come by a group, I highly recommend ordering guacamole by the table. While in town for a conference at the Gaylord, we decided to leave and have a great meal off property. Mia Dia from Scratch did not disappoint! We opted to sit at the bar, as we tend to do, because we always feel we get better service. They have a huge selection of liquor, including several varieties of Clase Azul. I did not end up partaking in that, and instead, got the Jalisco Express, which had a nice little kick to it. We started off with a bowl of chile con queso, which was way more than we needed since we could not easily take it to go. It was really tasty! I was wanting to try a dish that wasn't something I would normally get back home, so I chose the Enchiladas Del Mar; they were fantastic! They come folded over like a taco on a tiny little tortilla (like a street taco would), and the portion was perfect! The flavors were so fresh, too! My husband, who doesn't venture off of what he would normally eat, stuck with the fajitas and he did say they were great! This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. I have come here several times. Its been awhile, but I have always liked this place. It's always pretty packed. We came for lunch and they had a 35 min wait! Crazy. I love the restaurant inside, so much natural light, floor to ceiling windows, and a beautiful garden-like patio. I appreciate how everything is from scratch with fresh ingredients. Homemade tortillas are a must in my book and that they do provide. Their salsa is yummy and fresh, it's a combo of red and green. I got the lunch menu chicken quesadillas. They were good, but I remember liking the food more than I did today. Or perhaps its bc I didn't get a margarita and I need that to complete my meal!? We also got a beef chimichanga. At most places the beef ones come with steak meat, this one was with ground beef. It would have been way better with steak. Had I known, I prob would have picked something else. Simply put, it was the best brunch I have had in years. I had the Chilaquiles, which came on a plate as large as a healthy human infant. The flavor and presentation were amazing. Duck Carnitas were recommended, but I thought pretty bland and not much duck flavor. I love duck, but probably would not order the duck again.
