I wanted to like this place. The decor was cool, an old service station redone with old car stuff. The staff was great and very attentive and the food came out fast. But it was all lacking flavor. We got fried pickles and while the batter was light and crispy, it simply had no flavor. A little seasoning would have made them great. We also had a couple of burgers and they also lacked flavor. The patty didn't have much of a taste and again, no seasoning. Also the bun was soft but could have done with some toasting because it got very soggy. It was busy on a Friday afternoon so obviously the area likes it but something as simple as adding some salt would have made this a five star meal. When you drive by MG's you will notice the outdoor patio with vintage gas pumps. We knew we had to stop after seeing the antiques and picnic tables. It was a great stop on the way home. When you walk through the doors you can smell the burgers cooking. The staff member taking orders was extremely friendly and helped us navigate through the different menu options. I ate a cheese burger and there signature French fries. The ketchup is made in house and all of the staff at MG's is helpful and kind. MG's has a very fun vibe and the service is fantastic but the burger was a bit disappointing. The place is designed like an old auto mechanic garage and there are car memorabilia and 50s flair throughout. It's a neat place, for sure. The place was packed at lunch time on Saturday and was quite noisy but it was still comfortable. You walk in an order up front at the counter and they give you a number for your order. Seat yourself and they deliver the food to your table and visit the table often to see if you need refills or anything. The menu consists of the typical burger options, sides, salads, and I noticed someone with chicken fried steak. The salads were good but the larger salad with chicken was a bit expensive for what is included. The star of the show were the fries - they are fresh cut and have a perfect amount of seasoning. The fries were enough to share between two people. The burger was a bit disappointing. The burger patty was described as 8oz but it seemed much smaller. I'm not sure if the beef is fresh or frozen but it was overcooked and a bit on the bland side. I was on a roadtrip back to Oklahoma from Dallas and needed a place on the way to stop for dinner. Yelp to the rescue once again. I'll admit, we started questioning our GPS when we started going through a residential neighborhood, but trust it. It's off the main road, but not that far away from the highway (a perfect roadtrip stop!). I got the Cadillac - a burger with cheese, bacon, mustard, lettuce, and tomatoes with a side of fries. It was all delicious. They make their own hamburger buns daily and it tasted like they make their own hamburger patty and fries too. If you're craving a classic burger and fries, GET THIS. My mom ordered the club sandwich, which we found out they make it with hamburger buns and not toast... It tasted okay, but not great. GET A BURGER. That's what MG's is known for, after all. Service was good. We were checked on twice the hour we were there. Ambiance was cute. Lots of classic car memorabilia on the walls and even the CEILING. -1 star.
