Our experience was amazing from the ambiance to the food down to the dessert. Let's not forget about our server "Fili" and hostesses. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for making our experience unforgettable.

Sooo Mezzanine hotel was the perfect place to stay in Tulum. The hotel is boutique-style. There were some rooms being remodeled so there were only about 9 rooms occupied while we were there which was perfect. The staff was very attentive and everything was clean. They made sure we had everything we needed and even helped with the taxi service. Their massages overlooking the water were super relaxing, I recommend doing the massage early in the morning or later in the evening because the beds get hot. We stayed in one of the rooms without a view so you don't have sunlight in this type of room but all the other rooms were booked. We weren't in our room much anyway so not having a view did not bother us. There was tea in our room every evening before bed. This hotel is not in the hotel zone so the beach was relaxing and clean. We rented their bikes for the day to ride to the hotel zone and to downtown which for us was not a bad ride. Lastly, the bar and restaurant did not disappoint. Overall, I will definitely book this hotel again.

Maybe I'm spoiled that I went during a pandemic and peak of summer heat/start of hurricane season. It was peaceful and very inexpensive. ...And while the rest of Tulum was a hot spot and cesspool of STDs, Coronavirus, and drunk college age kids partying mask less and making out all over the place - (yes of course I was one one of them so I get it- their Brains aren't finished developing) This place had all their safety procedures in check. The welcome drink was amazing and perfect. The check in was appropriately distanced with cactus trees between you and the reservation desks as a friendly reminder to keep your distance I was offered a choice of one of their soap and wash smells... I selected honey. But they gave me the rosemary mint one. So that was a bummer. I thought I was being offered a gift set but I didn't realize that was what should have been in our bathroom and shower so I kept wondering when I would be getting the honey soaps, realized at the end of my stay what happened. The room itself was windowless as advertised when I selected the room. Bummer, but all the ocean units were filled. Not their fault. It was really nice to have an aromatherapy machine on, and a beautiful display of snacks, Chemex coffee setup, chocolate truffles, morning coffee service left at door, and a picnic basket of towels, bug spray, straw hats, and yoga mats, because, you know..Tulum. Absolutely loved the complimentary drink tickets to have a Happy Hour cocktail at their other boutique hotels, and was nice to be able to have dinner option and beach dip on another beach front location. *** important note: ---- the tiny little scoop of trail mix and spoon of broken MnMs in the glass gars next to the coffee station that you thought was free, and no one warned you?!?! It's gonna be a hefty checkout charge of $10-15 dollars!!! You could have just gone to The bodega for a normal and prewrapped package for a dollar. And no, they did not take it off the charge when I gasped and protested no one told me those weren't complimentary --- in a teeny glass jar -not quite sanitized, clearly scooped from a big sack - which i didn't care at the time I ate them ---- next to the complimentary coffee and chocolate truffles.... and no sign posted there was a charge. So that was an irritating taste to be left with at check out.

Our stay here was incredible. The hotel is beautiful and the stretch of beach is perfect. Water was clear and beach was clean. The algae problem we heard about in this area has subsided. There's also plenty of room to relax in a hammock, shaded bed area or lounge chairs in the sun. The drinks are excellent. We ate at the restaurant and it was some of the best Thai food I've ever had. The chef came out and asked how our meal was, which was a thoughtful gesture. All of the staff members were friendly and took care of everything we needed. We got a little stuck and needed a cab from a cenote trip and it was arranged for us with a quick call to the front desk. I LOVED the tea and chocolate service in the afternoon and the coffee they leave at your door is to die for every morning. We will stay here again!

The Restaurant Mezzanine is a gorgeous Thai restaurant on the beach with fresh cocktails and authentic Thai food. The ambiance is great for just about any occasion and the service is top notch. I highly recommend the pad thai (comes in a banana leaf) and fresh spring rolls. They serve water with your choice of fruit and accept credit cards as well. Definitely add this to you must eat-at spot! I've eaten at a lot of places in Tulum and this for sure is in my top 3!

This was our first visit to Tulum and choosing the hotel was a big task. There is a lot of great places based on reviews of other people`s stay. Mezzanine boutique hotel was granted "Small luxury hotels of the world" award and once you checked in you realize why :) Our host Alejandra was absolutely fantastic, she welcomed us with margarita drinks, walked us through the hotel and showed us the room. You get to choose your own scents for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel, all made from natural ingredients . Every morning they serve you coffee or tea (its your choice) in the special bag that will be waiting for you in front of your room in the morning. Additionally every evening (and they do it so secretly, unless you stay in your room all the time :)) you get e thermos with evening tea and homemade truffles. What a nice and warming treat this is, we loved it. The type of the tea changes too, one night it was more herbal, whether the other, more fruity. No caffeine so do not worry about not falling asleep. Even if it was the calming waves of the ocean which you can hear whole night will definitely take you there. We checked in very smoothly and started enjoying the place right away. The room is great for a couple stay, the bed is super comfy, AC works great (we are not big fans of AC so we used it lightly), nice bathroom with rainfall shower. There is plenty of cabinets and hangers to make yourself at home, and the room has an upper level with a hanging chair so you can enjoy sunset or sunrise from there but we preferred being outside to observe it :)) As you probably know (after reading few reviews) that Mezzanine has its own Thai restaurant and its absolutely awesome, the food is great, its more like a fusion of Thai and Mexican cuisine. They also serve breakfast in the morning which is so delicious (our favorite were Mezzanine Omlette and Huevos Rancheros), their choice of fruit juices, fresh squeezed is excellent. The restaurant `comes` with splendid view of the ocean and the beach. Pretty much every evening the restaurant is full as people from other areas come to eat here and this makes a nice atmosphere with all the lights and candles being lit around. They offer wide selections of drinks and some local craft beers as well, and their bartenders are great!! When you wake up and open your room door you can see beautiful ocean, it is really the room with ocean view!! Every day you have plenty of day beds you can choose to relax. Relaxing and chillout music is being played every day and copal incence is burned there every day as well. This give you nice tranquility along your stay for sure.Starting from the top there is pergola gazebo with four beds--those have the most exciting view in my opinion. This are is also the best the exercise or do yoga in the morning (every room has 2 yoga mats). Going down there is a small pool that you can use to dip after a hot day and can be used only by hotel patrons. Its cleaned every day in the morning. The restaurant itself has couple seats with lounge seats to enjoy drinks or snacks. There are also nice beds with tables (nicely shaded) by the bar. There is a nice lower level with two day beds placed under the restaurant area completely shaded. On the lower level they have couple swings that you can use for sweet pictures with the ocean view. Its very popular in Instagram so check it out!! The area on the very left lower level has bunch of hammocks so you can lay down and let all your worries away!! Access to public beach is super. You just go down the stairs by the bar and there you are, you can stroll down the beach up to the cliff where the ruins are (unfortunately area is closed for renovations). On the front of the hotel there is a rocky area and you can also swim there which we actually preferred as it is less crowded. Mezzanine offers massage and it is definitely a must. We took morning massage and it was the best massage we had in years. They use outside service but prepare everything for you in the area when hammocks are located, make sure you take them in the morning because it tends to get pretty hot in Tulum quickly. The hotel service installs curtains and shades for you so you are in absolute private area with the sounds of the ocean. We loved it!! The hotel offers bike rental and can set up the taxi for you whenever and wherever you wish to go and they have better prices that you may get. I forgot to mention that as your welcoming gift you get six drinks ( 3 places x 2 drinks ) at their sister hotels. You can check them out , sip some drinks and try their food. I am assuring you they are all great as we checked them all.People working at the Mezaanine put their utmost care to make you feel comfortable and are so nice that we actually miss them. Alejandra is the best host ever, Dawid, Abraham to name the few and the names I could remember. If I had to choose a place to visit Tulum again Mezzanine would be at the top of my list!!

This place is AMAZING. It may not have the convenience of an all inclusive resort, but the staff, amenities, and spectacular view at this eco friendly boutique hotel more than make up for it. When I return to Tulum, I will plan on staying here.

Turn-down service includes tea, yummy peanuts, & chocolates.

Ok, so I vacillated between giving Mezzanine a 3 or 4 star review. I think I'm settling for a 3.75, but since Yelp doesn't do fractions, 4 stars it is! *The hotel is very quaint. Like, 9 rooms quaint. Most rooms (minus 3 or 4 rooms) have a view. The others, are alongside the inside of the main building. Of course, this is the room that we ended up with. *Overall, its pretty quiet. It's a no-kids hotel, but kids are allowed if parents are visiting the restaurant (FYI). *The hotel itself is very clean. The rooms have both housekeeping & turndown service - per your convenience. *So many room amenities - like, coffee service every morning; tea service at turndown; a beach bag with beach towels, hat, & fan; eye masks; diffuser with scent of choice; cute homemade soaps; and a welcome margarita! The shower was amazing (although it leaked into our room from time to time) - good pressure & access to hot/cold water. *The hotel amenities include: a pool, access to the beach, restaurant, bar, bike rental, mini bar in room with unlimited water - alcohol was an additional charge, room service, and access to the deck/hammock area. *The hotel's restaurant is a solid 5 stars. We had breakfast, dinner, and room service. All were oh so delicious. *Super short walk to the Tulum ruins & Playa Paraíso. Not so short walk to grocery/liquor stores. *10 minute cab ride/25 minute bike ride ride to the town strip - FYI cabs are pretty accessible outside the hotel, except before 8 a.m. apparently. So, plan accordingly. AND, all cab rides will cost you about 100 pesos each way. *ATM available right outside the hotel *Access to many restaurants/bars along the hotel strip. *Mezzanine has excellent customer service! If you plan to stay at Mezzanine and are coming in from Cancun Airport, my suggestion would be to take an ADO bus to the Tulum bus station (about a 2 hour ride) & a short taxi ride (10 minutes). It's probably the most efficient & cost-friendly option. I didn't give it a full 5 stars because we found that accessibility to extras, like massages (only their sister-hotels had massage services) and booking tours (they seemed to fumble when we asked if they would be able to do that for us) are areas of need. As a hotel, especially as part of a chain of sister-hotels, I believe that you should be as accommodating as possible to your guests. There is an advantage to being a small, boutique hotel, but it shouldn't also be your disadvantage.

We were given the information about the property and all the amenities as well as given a tour and then shown to our room, typically when you first arrive, they perform a greeting cleanse to, clear energy, set your vibe and give you a little taste of the beautiful Mayan cultural traditions. Unfortunately, when we were shown over to the location where they perform the energy cleanse no one was there so they said we'd have to come back the next day which never ended up happening. Finally, moments before we were checking out we asked if it was possible just to see what the experience was like before we left. That part was actually really good, especially after our experience staying here for six days, which will make sense by the end of this review. When we checked in, it was already dark out but the design and lighting as well as the bio inspired architecture which fuses art in nature was pretty cool to see. They only give you one key for your room for some odd reason, it was a little inconvenient because it meant that me and my wife had to be together at all moments and couldn't explore or do services separately without the hassle of having to meet up to share the key, or the other option is to go walk all the way to the front desk, which, although the walk is beautiful, the design of the floor is made out of a bunch of branches for the walkway and is very difficult to navigate, especially at night so walking turned out to be more of a hassle, but that's just me being nit-picky. The other option is you can reach out to your concierge and then they can send someone which means you're waiting sometimes 5 to 10 minutes, again very small minor inconveniences but nonetheless adds up when staying there for six days. It definitely has an effect on the overall appeal and serenity that one would expect from a place like this. The room itself had two very small shelf like closets definitely not enough hangers or space to accommodate both of our very limited wardrobe that we brought. I had to put 2 to 3 shirts on one hanger and hang the pants inside and that's literally all I brought other than T-shirts and socks and underwear and one pair of nice shoes I literally packed very minimal and still didn't have enough space... again very small inconvenience but nonetheless 20 different small inconveniences all fused together to make one kind of annoying overall experience. Now I can say that I have mixed feelings about the minimal electricity and necessity to use tea candles for our lighting, but I respect the sustainability aspect of it and it did make very nice environment and mood. The only downside is they tell you that you don't blow the candles out and you can leave them on overnight and we had one explode right next to our heads and over all of our bathroom essentials. The shower is right in the middle there's no protection for water so it gets all over the floor, I nearly slipped a few times because of it. Probably sounds nit picky, but these are things I believe make it or break it for places like this. We experienced some type of mishap daily. We ordered hot water and they brought a dirty used coffee pot. They left the dirty brush in the toilet area. Didn't pick it up until the following day. Asked us if we could place it outside the door. Took forever to bring blankets. They got maybe 8/10 requests wrong and charged us for some and denied that, so wasn't able to get a refund. wasn't much, but principally speaking it's horrible feeling in the midst of many things going wrong. Atmosphere - 90% (small weird sewage smell almost everywhere except the room) Vibe - 80% Cost - 75% should be more enjoyable for the price imo... i dont mind paying extra for experience when its on point Food - 60% (first meal, room-service, was incredible {and cost matched that} every other meal on property lacked in all ways except the sushi which we enjoyed as a snack before going to dinner off site. Really over priced in general but the experience and design makes it palatable. Service - 2 stars overall (except for our concierge who had to deal with her associates lack of professionalism and incredible number of mistakes made each day). Location/architecture,view - 100 (If it wasn't for the sound of the ocean slapping the rocks below our balcony and the sound of the waves soothing us at night, waking up to the most amazing view from bed facing the ocean and the sunrise and also the sunsets each night with a great breeze and insane temperatures than this trip would probably have been all bad. My suggestion. Book 1-2 nights for the location and view then find a better spot elsewhere.

There are no concierge reliably onsite. You are given a WhatsApp number to text and sometimes they can be very slow to respond. First issue I ran into was the concierge's lack of punctuality and poor communication regarding bike rentals. She promised a bike at 8am but 15 mins before the agreed upon time texted me that she could not follow through. I agreed to wait until 10 but was delayed a second time until 11. The second delay was not even communicated to me without my prompting. See chat screenshots. The main issue was my balcony was flooded by careless guests upstairs who left their outdoor tub running (see pic). I was splashed and had to change. My phone also got wet and I could not charge it for the rest of the night until it dried. I could have had other valuables such as electronics out that could have been irreparably damaged and I could not use either loungers, which were soaking wet for the rest of the day/night. The water ran for 10 mins before hotel staff could stop it. No one came to clean my balcony. However, most disappointing was the concierge's refusal to take accountability for the incident (again, see screenshots). I would have been happy with a complementary margarita but instead was completely dismissed. I asked to speak to a manager on site and was told there were none. I asked for an email address or phone number and was given only the reservation email address. I detailed my experience in an email and waited 2 weeks before righting this review. No one replied. It is my experience that guests' conduct at the hotel is within the control and part of the hotel's responsibility and that top tier hospitality establishments, which I had assumed Azulik to be, value customer satisfaction and have accountability. I was sadly wrong.

Walk up or down the beach (you can get to this by climbing over the rocks at the side, or a looooong walk via road) and stretches of the beaches there (not all, but some) were seaweed free; the tide does what it wants, right? Located right on the coast, Habitas is a remarkable example of natural preservation and a quintessential way to experience Tulum the way it's supposed to be. This private jungle oasis is easily approachable from the main road, with staff directing guests where to park, which is along the street. The tents are very comfortable and the AC was sufficient despite intense summer heat. All the amenities are there. One of the best things is that there are no problems with bugs inside the tent as long as you are careful in keeping the doctor closed. Evenings are filled with noises of nature, including coati that love to frequent the roof of the tent and patio. There is pure magic to that, being surrounded not just by jungle plants, but animals too. Yet, it is something to keep in mind for some guests: do not expect a Marriott or a Hilton. This is a very real nature hotel. The restaurant is amazing and the design is very slick. Staff are attentive and helpful at all times. There is a nice little bar as well. Prices are high, but reasonable for Tulum relative to other hotels. The main area that was a little disappointing was the cleanliness of the pool. The water was greasy and borderline murky looking. Thus, this was the only real downside of the property. The pool is tiny as well. The hotel does allow outside guests to pay money and visit, so that does not help with keeping the pool clean and is the only reason I cannot give 5 stars. The beach, while swimmable, was loaded up with seaweed in early summer. The staff did an amazing job trying to clean up the seaweed, but it felt like an impossible task as they worked most of the day, yet more seaweed kept coming. As a whole, a remarkable property that I can recommend with no hesitation.

Every room has an outdoor seating area (some larger than others) so you can enjoy the ocean - which is only steps away as La Conchita is located right on the beach. It was so amazing to be lulled asleep every night by the loud, crashing waves. The property is no frills - there's no on-site spa, bar, or restaurant. But there's a beach club literally right next door which you can order from while enjoying La Conchita's private (and complimentary to guests) palapas and beach mattresses. There are also massages available in the beach area for a reasonable price - we saw many people partaking of them while we were there. Our room itself was big, bright, and comfortable. The bed was luxurious, the bathroom small-but-clean; and the room contained all the basic amenities we could need for our short visit: a small fridge to keep the beers cold, and a Nespresso machine for morning coffee. Our unit (#5) faced the beach directly, and we spent lots of time on our patio, watching the waves crash and the palm trees blow in the breeze. There are also several restaurants and bars lining the street, all within walking distance. Our favorite was Potheads, and elevated coffee shop with delicious food (and espresso, of course). We also dined at the tapas bar next door and it was delicious. They also offer a 10% discount to La Conchita guests for breakfast and dinner. When we left La Conchita we both agreed we can't wait to go back here on our next trip to the area!
