Booked a whole cabana that fit my group of 6 friends. Reservation was made months ago and worth it if you want a great view. The skewers were amazing and I could've ordered more if I had more time. Ceviche was good but was missing more lime in my opinion. Drinks felt a bit watered down, but I ordered more water than cocktails due to the insane hot weather and wanting to stay hydrated. Our party was for a bachelorette and it was all picture worthy. We didn't account for much time, but you can spend a whole day here lounging if that's more your style. I wish k stayed longer. Children and sellers come up to you selling bracelets and coconuts. I understand that they are also making a living. I appreciate that they are not aggressive sellers and will respect your wishes if you don't want to buy anything. They will respect your space. There are no changing rooms. The shower is open and outdoors. Make sure your swim suit is already on underneath.

Kanan is a go-to beach club. They feature talented DJs spinning that Tulum house music, and they offer excellent drinks. Fidel was an exceptional waiter; he was incredibly knowledgeable about their mezcals and expertly guided us on pairing them with citrus, salt, and other dishes. Def would come back.

A very unique experience in the heart of Tulum. We came for breakfast in one of the nests on Valentine's Day and the experience was so special! You get your own private nest and the perfect view of the sunrise over the beach. We came pretty early so we were the only ones up there for a while. I can't remember her servers name but she was so sweet and greeted us by our first name the entire meal. We had the avocado toast, enchiladas (green sauce was fire), green juice, and coffee. Everything was delicious and she let us enjoy the view for as long as we wanted after we finished. We loved the experience - a romantic and beautiful way to start the day

Amazing service! Great ambience and view. $150 per person, if you select the Nest option. Worth it? Not sure. But we really had a great time and our server was very informative with the menu and also about Mexico culture. We ordered the Risotto Nero Di Sepia $420mex. For me the shrimp and clam on top was amazing but the rice didn't had much flavor. Beautiful presentation. We also had the Rib Eye $1,200mex and the cowboy $1,200mex which didn't impressed me. If I have the opportunity to come back, I probably ordered more sea food. That was great! Last, all drinks that we had 10/10. :)

My sister visited Tulum in October and insisted I grab lunch here and boy was she right!!! Walking into Kanan felt like I stepped into the rainforest and I loved every second of it. Parking was across the street for 150 pesos but if you're a guest at Kanan, it's complimentary. The waitress received us with such a warm reception and sat us right on the beach. The view was amazing and I just took a moment to take it all in. I ordered the veggie burger and added avocado and a fried egg to mine, along with mozzarella cheese. For my drink, I got the BALAMA HA (I think) with rum and it was great. My burger was so delicious as were the fries. Between the four of us, our meals only came out to be about $37 each. I encourage everyone to stay at this hotel or at least grab a bite. The view is spectacular and the food is delicious.

Kanan was amazing! We usually do 3 nights in be Tulum and 3 nights in azulik. This time we decided to do the whole 6 nights at Kanan. Hotel was a vibe. It did have a lot of similarities to Azulik. Rooms need to be upgraded a little bit but overall it was a vibe.

A great time spent

I didn't stay at the hotel but did come for the beach club. I was recommended this spot by someone in Cancun and mentioned the vibes were immaculate. It didn't disappoint and food was delicious.

5 stars for entry decor, 4 stars for the drinks, 2 stars for food, 3 stars for service, 0 stars for sewer smell when you enter. We slipped into Kanan for a quick drink and meal after arriving in Tulum. My husband ordered tacos and I ordered the salmon tartar. We both got beers and I got a mexcalrita. The good: the decor is so cool when you enter off the street! Loved the wood and vines. The restaurant had a great view of the water. Our drinks were good. Portions were decent sized. The bad: the food was terribly, terribly under seasoned. I had to ask for salt, which I never do. My husband loves tacos- truly any tacos, and the only reason he finished them was because he was starving. There's a sewer odor when you walk in that's slightly off putting. Not sure this is Kanans fault, but it definitely follows you as you walk through the entry area. Service was ok- had to call the water over for salt and the check, but he was kind. Maybe we ordered the wrong food, or maybe it was an off day, but we were not very impressed.

Go for a drink at sunset - food is not good

Such an artistic and creative space they have created in their rooftop dining area. But unfortunately the food is pretty bad. The menu sounds amazing, but the execution it's just not there. And a strong sewer smell wafted by the table occasionally - quite the turnoff! I would recommend checking this place out for just a drink and some photos. There is $100 per person minimum for the dining in a nest, but I believe you could do the rooftop bar area without the minimum and still get to check the place out. I would recommend going around 5 to 530 to enjoy the evening light.

The service !!!! I had the pleasure of dealing with Roger as our sever on a Monday early afternoon. Hostess were very welcoming and attentive to all my concerns and questions regarding my gluten and dairy allergy due to celiac disease. They did an amazing job working as a team to provide the best service possible and they delivered. Roger took the time to go over the menu and made me feel safe and welcomed. Their fryers are not infested with gluten , I even got to order French fries . Margaritas were perfect and the food bursting with fresh natural flavors. The views were amazing from up top high in our nest . Thank you and I highly recommend you guys .

I really loved my experience staying here. It's absolutely beautiful aesthetically. You really feel like your in a jungle but with nice amenities so you're still comfortable. The restaurant food is great and they have a great cocktail menu. There is a rooftop bar that had a live saxophone player which was a nice touch. Couple things to know: It says ocean view rooms however they have huge trees that Will block the ocean view from our room no big deal still beautiful. The walls are thin so you could basically hear everything next to you and the rooms do not have TVs however it's kind of expected with the experience of staying here. Honestly highly recommend if you want that Tulum experience

TIP !! Bring bug spray or some bug repellant. we got eaten up. by the end of the trip i prob had over 50 bug bites all over. very very rough!

We needed a quick escape and decided to come to Tulum for a few days…read more We saw a few YouTube videos on Nomade and thought it looked beautiful so decided to stay here. First, let me just say that taxis and parking in tulum are insane. Despite this being a high end resort there is no shuttle for guests and no parking. So you're beholden to leveraging their bikes which you can rent for free between 12-5 daily or the ridiculous taxis waiting outside the entrance. If you do choose to rent a car, parking is street only and this seems ridiculous for a resort. I will note on their website they say they have parking but when we reached out directly to the hotel to inquire about parking (because we were considering renting a car) they explicitly told us it was street parking only. Ok, since we are on the negatives I'll continue by noting that check in isn't until 4pm daily so an early arrival means you can hang out in the public areas but just be aware of that when you dress for an early arrival. The other negatives, our beach access suite (the second most expensive room/suite available) did have its own pool and outdoor seating area but this area only got early morning sun. This made the area not very enjoyable to use for the majority of the day because it was fully enclosed/shaded and the "lounge area" was a couch so not ideal for lounging. Additionally, we saw a few crawly uninvited guests in our room. Ants in our toilet room and then a rather large cockroach on our sink/vanity area. With the indoor/outdoor nature vibe of this resort these guests I'm sure are a common nuisance but definitely not what you'd expect for $1000/night. The area of the resort is very intricate and maze like and while this weaving of the jungle/beach is a vibe it for sure it is not accessible to anyone with mobility issues. One of the main dining areas also offered primarily low/backless seating so again, not the best for comfort or accessibility. We also had power outages our last night - this definitely made the room pretty humid and difficult to sleep in (but the storm was great to listen to and watch). For a place like this and a per night rate as high as they charge, they should have dependable generators. Also, not necessarily a negative but important to note, there are no TVs in any of the rooms, so bring a few great books and indulge in the activities and conversations with your fellow guests. The resort does have great beach accessibility with plenty of loungers for guests. But the area also had a LOT of people walking around during the day selling various items. This definitely made it feel less like a private beach and more just like a public one which was again, disappointing. The last negative I will give for this place is we did meet up with friends who live in Tulum and who came over to join us for a lounge-y day and despite again, having one of the most expensive per night suites they did try to charge us for their "day passes". Thankfully, they said they'd make an exception which honestly, shouldn't even be a discussion given the room cost and the fact that we ordered food and drink throughout the day and had it charged to the room. So now for some highlights - as the YouTube and instareel highlights will showcase the resort itself is very "vibey". The suite we stayed in was nicely appointed and did have lots of big spacious windows providing great sea views and sounds. The bed was very comfy and big - plus the room came with a separate large seating lounge area. The pool and water feature was beautiful but again because it was shaded for the majority of the day the water remained pretty crisp. Another positive is there are daily activities you can sign up for and experience - including various yoga, sound bathing, and a really cool bonfire and stargazing. The main eating area also had live DJs and music on the nights we stayed and that was great to have available. The food was really tasty albeit very tourist priced. We enjoyed snacks on the beach (the tuna tartar and guacamole were both super fresh and delicious) and dinner at Mercado the first night (taboule salad and a great Mediterranean take on a taco). Both of these dishes were tasty and big enough to share. Our booking did include a daily breakfast but ordering more than one coffee resulted in a charge and that seems pretty petty when the cost per night is over $1000usd. It's also important to note that if you have an early check out, and pay for the breakfast, your option on your departure date is a sad boxed "lunch". This again, is wildly unacceptable for the cost. Guests leaving early should be able to place a breakfast order to go the night before their departure and not just be given a sad, tasteless boxed option. All in all, it was a great getaway for us because we were able to switch off but we'd not recommend this as a place that's worth its nightly rate. If we come back to Tulum we will for sure look for different accommodations.

Everything felt calm, spacious, and unhurried. We booked the Sea View Ground Floor Suite with Plunge Pool and it was gorgeous. The room had a king bed, two twin pullouts, a small dining table, and a bright, spa-like bathroom with 2 rain showers, dual sinks, and a separate toilet room. The private deck and plunge pool faced the ocean and beach with an unobstructed sunrise view. If we wanted it heated like a hot tub, we'd message the concierge on WhatsApp and they'd turn it on almost instantly. Service was thoughtful and seamless. Check-in was easy, communication was clear, and every night we received pastries and a thermos of tea in different flavors like lemongrass and hibiscus as a surprise treat. On arrival, the adults were welcomed with margaritas and our kids with pineapple juice. Housekeeping was meticulous, right down to straightening our shoes. Beach towels and cover ups were in the room and beachside food and drink service made it easy to spend all day by the ocean. The hotel is small (about 49 rooms) so the beach never felt crowded and there was always space to relax without competing for loungers. We were traveling with family (both of my brothers and their families), and the staff made a real effort to place rooms near each other, which made the experience even more special. Luxurious, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming. NOTES/TIPS: **Book early if you want a specific room type. We booked about four months out and availability was already limited. **They're strict about room occupancy limits. If you have more than 4 in your family, a second room is required. **If you don't want to rent a car or get a taxi, the hotel can arrange round-trip airport transportation for $400 plus tip. **Checkout is at noon. Staff will check the room for any left-behind items and the front desk can hold your luggage if you want to stay and enjoy the property longer.

The rooms are a good size and have adequate storage for all of your baggage! The pool was nice, but we spent all of our leisure time on the beach. The private beach area has loungers, beds, cabanas as well as a set of swings. One thing to note, if you visit between May and October, be prepared to see seaweed on the beaches of the Caribbean coast of Mexico during that time. She said the place is like the pictures online and I could decide from that. After 30 minutes of back-and-forth, she finally let me in -- and I was in and out in under 3 minutes. Thankfully, Juno upstairs was wonderful and actually helpful (the only positive part of this whole story). Fast-forward to the night of the proposal: Joanna, who knew it was supposed to be a surprise, asked in front of everyone, "Is this for the engagement party?" -- completely ruining it. Her apology didn't even sound genuine. The service after that was awful.
