What an absolute dream of a 10th Anniversary at the Cabañas Tulum Hotel and Spa! The experience was immaculate on every level. The flawless staff were a joy to be around and treated us to the most special of memories we'll cherish forever. The bus transfer which was arranged ahead of time with the hotel from the sparkling new airport was on point and arrived in perfect time. We arrived to a romantic welcome of rose petals and champagne and the breathtaking view of the Caribbean from our beautiful room with both a patio and rooftop deck with hot tub. Amazing to sit in either spot for a morning coffee or a rooftop view of the stars at night. The food at both Ziggy's and Fresco's were the most exceptional we had in Tulum. The couples message we received in the Spa was so amazing (hydrotherapy is gratis) we won't soon forget it! Owners, management, staff, grounds crew, bartenders, servers, et. al., were truly world class and we wish every single one of them the very best. We were so fortunate to have been guests in this special place. So much so we were deeply saddened to leave our new friends. The Cabañas deserves our highest praise and we will most certainly share the word it is the jewel of Riviera Maya! Muchísimas gracias amigos! Dios bo'otik (Para los Mayeros)!

    Rooftop private tub and loungers.

We could not have been happier with our stay. The service was excellent and it was easy to reach the front desk whenever we needed or wanted anything. The area of the beach is much quieter than further down the beach which we appreciated. The food was excellent at both restaurants as well.

Absolutely amazing stay with Cabanas Tulum! It exceeded all our expectations. Location is great, walking distance to all hot spots yet far away enough not to hear annoying music at night. The facilities and rooms are super clean. There are people constantly working to keep up the property in pristine condition. The food is amazing at Frescos and Ziggys. The vibe is adult and chill, the spa is gorgeous and massages were amazing! We also tried yoga in beautiful palapa and it was such a nice start to eventful day. I cannot wait to be back!

The five-star rating that Cabanas currently has is well-deserved. After a bit of research, we decided Cabanas was the place for us. We were disappointed when we booked as there were no swim-up rooms available. Little did we know that the beachfront rooftop room was everything we wanted. The balcony has two sets of double doors, one with screens so that you can leave it open to hear the waves crashing at night. So relaxing. The staff was very responsive even before we arrived. The rooms are a good size and have adequate storage for all of your baggage! The pool was nice, but we spent all of our leisure time on the beach. The private beach area has loungers, beds, cabanas as well as a set of swings. One thing to note, if you visit between May and October, be prepared to see seaweed on the beaches of the Caribbean coast of Mexico during that time. Seaweed is beyond their control, and I certainly will not dock Cabanas for that in my review. Cabanas is in the middle of everything. We were able to bike ride and walk to most places. After long days out on the beach or exploring Tulum, Cabanas was a welcome retreat at the end of each day. I selfishly want to keep this place a secret, but sharing is caring. After all, it's how I found this place in the first place. :) Go! Relax, Explore, Indulge and Repeat!

    Our hotel room

Wow!!! We absolutely loved our stay at Cabanas. The resort is gorgeous and extremely clean. The staff provide 5 star, Ritz Carlton service ! They are all friendly and take care of your every need. Nahama, and Nancy helped us find the perfect restaurants, excursions and were the best hostesses. We enjoyed Omar and the Frescos team taking care of us each morning at breakfast. This place is paradise!!

If you plan on visiting Tulum and are trying to find a place to stay, stop what you're doing and book your stay at Cabañas. We usually don't write reviews but felt like we had to let people know how amazing this place was. From the customer service, to the amenities, to the restaurants (Fresco's & Ziggys) on the property..everything was perfect! We stayed in the beachfront room and it was so gorgeous, we had a personal plunge pool on the patio overlooking the beach with the best views. The Naaj Nay spa was also hands down the best massage I've ever gotten. The staff at the whole hotel truly knows how to make your stay spectacular! 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back!

TIP !! Bring bug spray or some bug repellant. we got eaten up. by the end of the trip i prob had over 50 bug bites all over. very very rough!

We needed a quick escape and decided to come to Tulum for a few days…read more We saw a few YouTube videos on Nomade and thought it looked beautiful so decided to stay here. First, let me just say that taxis and parking in tulum are insane. Despite this being a high end resort there is no shuttle for guests and no parking. So you're beholden to leveraging their bikes which you can rent for free between 12-5 daily or the ridiculous taxis waiting outside the entrance. If you do choose to rent a car, parking is street only and this seems ridiculous for a resort. I will note on their website they say they have parking but when we reached out directly to the hotel to inquire about parking (because we were considering renting a car) they explicitly told us it was street parking only. Ok, since we are on the negatives I'll continue by noting that check in isn't until 4pm daily so an early arrival means you can hang out in the public areas but just be aware of that when you dress for an early arrival. The other negatives, our beach access suite (the second most expensive room/suite available) did have its own pool and outdoor seating area but this area only got early morning sun. This made the area not very enjoyable to use for the majority of the day because it was fully enclosed/shaded and the "lounge area" was a couch so not ideal for lounging. Additionally, we saw a few crawly uninvited guests in our room. Ants in our toilet room and then a rather large cockroach on our sink/vanity area. With the indoor/outdoor nature vibe of this resort these guests I'm sure are a common nuisance but definitely not what you'd expect for $1000/night. The area of the resort is very intricate and maze like and while this weaving of the jungle/beach is a vibe it for sure it is not accessible to anyone with mobility issues. One of the main dining areas also offered primarily low/backless seating so again, not the best for comfort or accessibility. We also had power outages our last night - this definitely made the room pretty humid and difficult to sleep in (but the storm was great to listen to and watch). For a place like this and a per night rate as high as they charge, they should have dependable generators. Also, not necessarily a negative but important to note, there are no TVs in any of the rooms, so bring a few great books and indulge in the activities and conversations with your fellow guests. The resort does have great beach accessibility with plenty of loungers for guests. But the area also had a LOT of people walking around during the day selling various items. This definitely made it feel less like a private beach and more just like a public one which was again, disappointing. The last negative I will give for this place is we did meet up with friends who live in Tulum and who came over to join us for a lounge-y day and despite again, having one of the most expensive per night suites they did try to charge us for their "day passes". Thankfully, they said they'd make an exception which honestly, shouldn't even be a discussion given the room cost and the fact that we ordered food and drink throughout the day and had it charged to the room. So now for some highlights - as the YouTube and instareel highlights will showcase the resort itself is very "vibey". The suite we stayed in was nicely appointed and did have lots of big spacious windows providing great sea views and sounds. The bed was very comfy and big - plus the room came with a separate large seating lounge area. The pool and water feature was beautiful but again because it was shaded for the majority of the day the water remained pretty crisp. Another positive is there are daily activities you can sign up for and experience - including various yoga, sound bathing, and a really cool bonfire and stargazing. The main eating area also had live DJs and music on the nights we stayed and that was great to have available. The food was really tasty albeit very tourist priced. We enjoyed snacks on the beach (the tuna tartar and guacamole were both super fresh and delicious) and dinner at Mercado the first night (taboule salad and a great Mediterranean take on a taco). Both of these dishes were tasty and big enough to share. Our booking did include a daily breakfast but ordering more than one coffee resulted in a charge and that seems pretty petty when the cost per night is over $1000usd. It's also important to note that if you have an early check out, and pay for the breakfast, your option on your departure date is a sad boxed "lunch". This again, is wildly unacceptable for the cost. Guests leaving early should be able to place a breakfast order to go the night before their departure and not just be given a sad, tasteless boxed option. All in all, it was a great getaway for us because we were able to switch off but we'd not recommend this as a place that's worth its nightly rate. If we come back to Tulum we will for sure look for different accommodations.

Everything felt calm, spacious, and unhurried. We booked the Sea View Ground Floor Suite with Plunge Pool and it was gorgeous. The room had a king bed, two twin pullouts, a small dining table, and a bright, spa-like bathroom with 2 rain showers, dual sinks, and a separate toilet room. The private deck and plunge pool faced the ocean and beach with an unobstructed sunrise view. If we wanted it heated like a hot tub, we'd message the concierge on WhatsApp and they'd turn it on almost instantly. Service was thoughtful and seamless. Check-in was easy, communication was clear, and every night we received pastries and a thermos of tea in different flavors like lemongrass and hibiscus as a surprise treat. On arrival, the adults were welcomed with margaritas and our kids with pineapple juice. Housekeeping was meticulous, right down to straightening our shoes. Beach towels and cover ups were in the room and beachside food and drink service made it easy to spend all day by the ocean. The hotel is small (about 49 rooms) so the beach never felt crowded and there was always space to relax without competing for loungers. We were traveling with family (both of my brothers and their families), and the staff made a real effort to place rooms near each other, which made the experience even more special. Luxurious, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming. NOTES/TIPS: **Book early if you want a specific room type. We booked about four months out and availability was already limited. **They're strict about room occupancy limits. If you have more than 4 in your family, a second room is required. **If you don't want to rent a car or get a taxi, the hotel can arrange round-trip airport transportation for $400 plus tip. **Checkout is at noon. Staff will check the room for any left-behind items and the front desk can hold your luggage if you want to stay and enjoy the property longer.

Very quiet location - except for the one night there was salsa dancing and a band. However as promised they ended by 11 and it was fun to have that entertainment right there. It gives the impression that the entire restaurant is elevated among the trees. Up on the second floor, you'll find the main dining area, plus a bar, a DJ booth, and a space for dancing. If you go higher, there's a level with private little booths for dining, and it truly feels like you're sitting in a tree. I've visited this restaurant twice for dinner, and both times it was aesthetic heaven - the atmosphere was truly fantastic! Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the food quality. Most of the dishes my partner and I tried were just okay. Honestly, there wasn't a single dish I'd call delicious. The menu isn't very big, but it does have a few interesting options. On our last visit, we decided to share several appetizers: Naan Bread, Guacamole, Crab Croquette, Fish and Chips, Tuna Cakes. From all that, we only really liked and enjoyed the fish and chips and the crab croquette. The rest wasn't good - especially the naan bread, which was hard and flavorless. The tuna cakes were very dry and tasteless as well. From my first visit, I also remember the food tasting just okay. I did try the Grilled Octopus, which I liked, but definitely didn't love. To make matters worse, the prices on the menu are quite high. The food quality doesn't match the prices at all. Even the drinks, including soft drinks, are overpriced. For example, when I ordered a mocktail, they brought me a glass that was half-filled with ice; and the drink cost 300 Mexican pesos (U.S. $16). Crazy! Another negative point is the extremely loud music on the main second floor. It's impossible to have a conversation if you sit in the middle of that level. However, if you go to the separate area across the little bridge, the music is a bit quieter, but still louder than it should be for a relaxing dinner. The first time I visited, I got a table on the uppermost level, and the noise level was much better up there. I definitely preferred that upper area. On a positive note, I want to mention the sweet staff - the hostess and waiters were always extremely nice to me. But both times I visited, the waiters didn't check on us much during the meal. Also, if the restaurant is busy, food preparation can be very slow; we waited more than 40 minutes for our order. To sum up: I do recommend visiting this place, but more as a visual and artistic experience, not for the food. Go for the atmosphere, enjoy a drink and a tasty appetizer like the fish and chips or crab croquette, but plan to have your main meal elsewhere if you're looking for truly delicious food.

We were given the information about the property and all the amenities as well as given a tour and then shown to our room, typically when you first arrive, they perform a greeting cleanse to, clear energy, set your vibe and give you a little taste of the beautiful Mayan cultural traditions. Unfortunately, when we were shown over to the location where they perform the energy cleanse no one was there so they said we'd have to come back the next day which never ended up happening. Finally, moments before we were checking out we asked if it was possible just to see what the experience was like before we left. That part was actually really good, especially after our experience staying here for six days, which will make sense by the end of this review. When we checked in, it was already dark out but the design and lighting as well as the bio inspired architecture which fuses art in nature was pretty cool to see. They only give you one key for your room for some odd reason, it was a little inconvenient because it meant that me and my wife had to be together at all moments and couldn't explore or do services separately without the hassle of having to meet up to share the key, or the other option is to go walk all the way to the front desk, which, although the walk is beautiful, the design of the floor is made out of a bunch of branches for the walkway and is very difficult to navigate, especially at night so walking turned out to be more of a hassle, but that's just me being nit-picky. The other option is you can reach out to your concierge and then they can send someone which means you're waiting sometimes 5 to 10 minutes, again very small minor inconveniences but nonetheless adds up when staying there for six days. It definitely has an effect on the overall appeal and serenity that one would expect from a place like this. The room itself had two very small shelf like closets definitely not enough hangers or space to accommodate both of our very limited wardrobe that we brought. I had to put 2 to 3 shirts on one hanger and hang the pants inside and that's literally all I brought other than T-shirts and socks and underwear and one pair of nice shoes I literally packed very minimal and still didn't have enough space... again very small inconvenience but nonetheless 20 different small inconveniences all fused together to make one kind of annoying overall experience. Now I can say that I have mixed feelings about the minimal electricity and necessity to use tea candles for our lighting, but I respect the sustainability aspect of it and it did make very nice environment and mood. The only downside is they tell you that you don't blow the candles out and you can leave them on overnight and we had one explode right next to our heads and over all of our bathroom essentials. The shower is right in the middle there's no protection for water so it gets all over the floor, I nearly slipped a few times because of it. Probably sounds nit picky, but these are things I believe make it or break it for places like this. We experienced some type of mishap daily. We ordered hot water and they brought a dirty used coffee pot. They left the dirty brush in the toilet area. Didn't pick it up until the following day. Asked us if we could place it outside the door. Took forever to bring blankets. They got maybe 8/10 requests wrong and charged us for some and denied that, so wasn't able to get a refund. wasn't much, but principally speaking it's horrible feeling in the midst of many things going wrong. Atmosphere - 90% (small weird sewage smell almost everywhere except the room) Vibe - 80% Cost - 75% should be more enjoyable for the price imo... i dont mind paying extra for experience when its on point Food - 60% (first meal, room-service, was incredible {and cost matched that} every other meal on property lacked in all ways except the sushi which we enjoyed as a snack before going to dinner off site. Really over priced in general but the experience and design makes it palatable. Service - 2 stars overall (except for our concierge who had to deal with her associates lack of professionalism and incredible number of mistakes made each day). Location/architecture,view - 100 (If it wasn't for the sound of the ocean slapping the rocks below our balcony and the sound of the waves soothing us at night, waking up to the most amazing view from bed facing the ocean and the sunrise and also the sunsets each night with a great breeze and insane temperatures than this trip would probably have been all bad. My suggestion. Book 1-2 nights for the location and view then find a better spot elsewhere.

There are no concierge reliably onsite. You are given a WhatsApp number to text and sometimes they can be very slow to respond. First issue I ran into was the concierge's lack of punctuality and poor communication regarding bike rentals. She promised a bike at 8am but 15 mins before the agreed upon time texted me that she could not follow through. I agreed to wait until 10 but was delayed a second time until 11. The second delay was not even communicated to me without my prompting. See chat screenshots. The main issue was my balcony was flooded by careless guests upstairs who left their outdoor tub running (see pic). I was splashed and had to change. My phone also got wet and I could not charge it for the rest of the night until it dried. I could have had other valuables such as electronics out that could have been irreparably damaged and I could not use either loungers, which were soaking wet for the rest of the day/night. The water ran for 10 mins before hotel staff could stop it. No one came to clean my balcony. However, most disappointing was the concierge's refusal to take accountability for the incident (again, see screenshots). I would have been happy with a complementary margarita but instead was completely dismissed. I asked to speak to a manager on site and was told there were none. I asked for an email address or phone number and was given only the reservation email address. I detailed my experience in an email and waited 2 weeks before righting this review. No one replied. It is my experience that guests' conduct at the hotel is within the control and part of the hotel's responsibility and that top tier hospitality establishments, which I had assumed Azulik to be, value customer satisfaction and have accountability. I was sadly wrong.
