What an incredible spot. Fancy: no Pretentious: no All inclusive and luxurious: no (but there is a restaurant/bar and it is very good) Pool: yes but it's across the street and not very big or exciting Now for why I gave it 5 stars: Incredible views and sunrises: yes! Friendly staff and great service: yes! Comfortable, fun accommodations: yes! Best hammocks at a resort: yes! Quiet and relaxing: yes! If you're looking for a bougie hotel with glamorous accommodations, this isn't it. But if you're looking for a super relaxing place to stay in Tulum, with a unique look, directly on the water, with lots of cushioned lounges under canopies, and colorful hammocks and chairs overlooking the water, this is it! We had the best time in our girls trip staying here and plan to return. The only downsides to this property are: - the bathroom isn't ideal: slippery floor, can't flush toilet paper (but that's everywhere in this part of Tulum), and no curtains or privacy barriers. - seaweed: as mentioned in most reviews, the seaweed is plentiful so it's hard to actually walk along any beach or easily get in the water. But the pro this con is that you have a lot of privacy on the property. Nobody's trying to sell you anything along the beach like a many Caribbean vacation destinations.

Magnificent!!! Extraordinary!! This is place is wonderful! I was looking for awhile a place in front of the beach. When I saw this place on the internet my first thought was wow "just what I want". I booked this place and I was not wrong! It's wonderful ! We arrived and everyone was so helpful and amicable. They show us our bungalow , wow ! Fabulous ! Just look at the pictures! Inside the bungalow everything was so rustic and romantic, we even had a mosquito net! Two Hammocks are in front where you can sit relax with a beer or margarita in you hand. Basically you are staying inside beach! It's unbelievable!!! The staff here are marvelous! Everytime they make you feel welcome ! Everyone is amazing!! The restaurant is superb!!! Every plate is excellent! The service is great! All the food we ordered here were heavenly! The drinks were well done. You can hear the waves and feel them every night, you will sleep like a baby. Is a retreat, no TV so bring your tablet if you Need Netflix or Hulu lol. Parking is available and someone is watching the cars 24 hours. Security in both ends watching the place at all times. I will come here again with my eyes closed! It's phenomenal! Extremely recommended!

Came here on a trip with my girlfriends. The space was simple but comfortable and clean. We liked the few amenities we had, and it felt very, very safe. The staff was nice and accommodating. The space was a bit away from the downtown but right on the beach with incredible sunrises. The pool was chilly.

Zamas is the best hotel on earth. They just hosted 38 of my nearest and dearest for my 40th birthday celebration. The staff helped book amazing excursions for us, a candlelit dinner on the terrace for my birthday, a poolside happy hour, and so much more. They were accommodating on every level, to a degree I've never experienced at a hotel before. The food at the Zamas restaurant is unbelievably good. I will forever dream of the pepita dip, fried shrimp tacos, and huevos rancheros. Thank you for everything Zamas - I will never forget this trip.

Awesome experience The hosts are extremely friendly and make sure you are taken care of the moment you arrive till you leave! Having a place right on the beach was great!

This is an amazing place to eat, it's right on the beach the food is amazing the service is really good as well. We ordered stuffed peppers, Huevos rancheros, and avocado toast as well as cold brew coffee and fresh watermelon juice. The view is amazing and they have a lot of seating options for inside and outside. Definitely check this place out if you're in TULUM.

This is a review for the restaurant: All the food I've had here is amazing but what takes the cake is the view and ambiance. If you eat here for breakfast you'll be right on the beach (or if you sit on the terrace the mini cliffs). I had a delicious latte and huevos xcatli (not sure the spelling). For dinner it is super romantic. Candles are on every table and the sound of the waves will be all around. On a Thursday night they had live music (new age sounding music). For dinner my partner and I had the guacamole, charred broccoli and sweet potato pizza. All were tasty- especially the charred broccoli and cauliflower. I recommend ordering a mezcal margarita- no added sugar and so good.

Love, love, love it here. Low key, chill, but high quality & top notch service. The staff went above & beyond on everything, including sweet touches for my birthday. Food is excellent, beach is chill, the pool is refreshing. I can't see how anyone would have a complaint here, truly. We will be back!

    Huevos rancheros and baked eggs
    Natalie Venus De H.

I had Huevos rancheros with potatoes instead of tortilla and I added Chaya! Soooo good and clean tasting! Bill got the baked eggs which were smoky and beautiful in a clay pot! I got the tutti-frutti which of hibiscus and ginger syrup... Little sweeter than the healthy drinks at Canopia or Tunich but lovely still... next time I would get the green drink with Chaya! The best farewell breakfast! I always come here on my las day in Tulum!!!! Wade in the tide pools until my breakfast comes.

Great hotel and restaurant. The rooms are all solar powered and I really enjoyed being on the jungle side.

Enjoyed my stay at Zamas and definitely plan to return. It's right next to a such/snorkel shop and walking distance from several great vegan/vegetarian restaurants. The Zamas restaurant itself is really good as well and the drinks are very fresh and unique. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, but definitely for people that are use to a certain level of intimacy. PS bring bug repellent as it seems to be mosquito season all the time.

Beach front dining area. As we got out entrees we literally saw a small boat come out of no where and stop on shore to drop off the biggest freshest fish I've ever seen IN MY LIFE! ... fish tacos with perfectly ripe avocado. And avocado toast with goat cheese and a fried egg jumped out to us from the menu. Everything was cooked perfectly and fresh. If you can believe it, our drinks were even better. I'd definitely recommend stopped by for a bite while traveling in tulum!

private beach & you can get your own hut and order yummy drinks!

We were given the information about the property and all the amenities as well as given a tour and then shown to our room, typically when you first arrive, they perform a greeting cleanse to, clear energy, set your vibe and give you a little taste of the beautiful Mayan cultural traditions. Unfortunately, when we were shown over to the location where they perform the energy cleanse no one was there so they said we'd have to come back the next day which never ended up happening. Finally, moments before we were checking out we asked if it was possible just to see what the experience was like before we left. That part was actually really good, especially after our experience staying here for six days, which will make sense by the end of this review. When we checked in, it was already dark out but the design and lighting as well as the bio inspired architecture which fuses art in nature was pretty cool to see. They only give you one key for your room for some odd reason, it was a little inconvenient because it meant that me and my wife had to be together at all moments and couldn't explore or do services separately without the hassle of having to meet up to share the key, or the other option is to go walk all the way to the front desk, which, although the walk is beautiful, the design of the floor is made out of a bunch of branches for the walkway and is very difficult to navigate, especially at night so walking turned out to be more of a hassle, but that's just me being nit-picky. The other option is you can reach out to your concierge and then they can send someone which means you're waiting sometimes 5 to 10 minutes, again very small minor inconveniences but nonetheless adds up when staying there for six days. It definitely has an effect on the overall appeal and serenity that one would expect from a place like this. The room itself had two very small shelf like closets definitely not enough hangers or space to accommodate both of our very limited wardrobe that we brought. I had to put 2 to 3 shirts on one hanger and hang the pants inside and that's literally all I brought other than T-shirts and socks and underwear and one pair of nice shoes I literally packed very minimal and still didn't have enough space... again very small inconvenience but nonetheless 20 different small inconveniences all fused together to make one kind of annoying overall experience. Now I can say that I have mixed feelings about the minimal electricity and necessity to use tea candles for our lighting, but I respect the sustainability aspect of it and it did make very nice environment and mood. The only downside is they tell you that you don't blow the candles out and you can leave them on overnight and we had one explode right next to our heads and over all of our bathroom essentials. The shower is right in the middle there's no protection for water so it gets all over the floor, I nearly slipped a few times because of it. Probably sounds nit picky, but these are things I believe make it or break it for places like this. We experienced some type of mishap daily. We ordered hot water and they brought a dirty used coffee pot. They left the dirty brush in the toilet area. Didn't pick it up until the following day. Asked us if we could place it outside the door. Took forever to bring blankets. They got maybe 8/10 requests wrong and charged us for some and denied that, so wasn't able to get a refund. wasn't much, but principally speaking it's horrible feeling in the midst of many things going wrong. Atmosphere - 90% (small weird sewage smell almost everywhere except the room) Vibe - 80% Cost - 75% should be more enjoyable for the price imo... i dont mind paying extra for experience when its on point Food - 60% (first meal, room-service, was incredible {and cost matched that} every other meal on property lacked in all ways except the sushi which we enjoyed as a snack before going to dinner off site. Really over priced in general but the experience and design makes it palatable. Service - 2 stars overall (except for our concierge who had to deal with her associates lack of professionalism and incredible number of mistakes made each day). Location/architecture,view - 100 (If it wasn't for the sound of the ocean slapping the rocks below our balcony and the sound of the waves soothing us at night, waking up to the most amazing view from bed facing the ocean and the sunrise and also the sunsets each night with a great breeze and insane temperatures than this trip would probably have been all bad. My suggestion. Book 1-2 nights for the location and view then find a better spot elsewhere.

There are no concierge reliably onsite. You are given a WhatsApp number to text and sometimes they can be very slow to respond. First issue I ran into was the concierge's lack of punctuality and poor communication regarding bike rentals. She promised a bike at 8am but 15 mins before the agreed upon time texted me that she could not follow through. I agreed to wait until 10 but was delayed a second time until 11. The second delay was not even communicated to me without my prompting. See chat screenshots. The main issue was my balcony was flooded by careless guests upstairs who left their outdoor tub running (see pic). I was splashed and had to change. My phone also got wet and I could not charge it for the rest of the night until it dried. I could have had other valuables such as electronics out that could have been irreparably damaged and I could not use either loungers, which were soaking wet for the rest of the day/night. The water ran for 10 mins before hotel staff could stop it. No one came to clean my balcony. However, most disappointing was the concierge's refusal to take accountability for the incident (again, see screenshots). I would have been happy with a complementary margarita but instead was completely dismissed. I asked to speak to a manager on site and was told there were none. I asked for an email address or phone number and was given only the reservation email address. I detailed my experience in an email and waited 2 weeks before righting this review. No one replied. It is my experience that guests' conduct at the hotel is within the control and part of the hotel's responsibility and that top tier hospitality establishments, which I had assumed Azulik to be, value customer satisfaction and have accountability. I was sadly wrong.

There is the Sargassum seaweed problem on the beach but this is not fault of the hotel and the few hotels on the same beach shared with Calaluna work everyday to clear the seaweed for the guests but it builds up quickly. At Punta Piedra, my room was cleaned daily, with new towels, and they had a nice bowl of water by my door for me to wash off my sandy feet. The owner of the place was really helpful in explaining the taxi/bus system and in calling me cabs (we'd been ripped off at the airport and were nervous) and I liked having someone I could trust. I locked my stuff in the safe every night and in the day when we went out (two MacBooks, an iPad, passports) and nothing was stolen. The safe didn't feel very secure -- the lock was kind of iffy, but the room did, and as we had a beach view, and a private building, it would have been hard for a stranger to rob us. The sea was gorgeous and blue, but had some seaweed in it, as we'd expected. However: there's a way around this. Walk up or down the beach (you can get to this by climbing over the rocks at the side, or a looooong walk via road) and stretches of the beaches there (not all, but some) were seaweed free; the tide does what it wants, right? Located right on the coast, Habitas is a remarkable example of natural preservation and a quintessential way to experience Tulum the way it's supposed to be. This private jungle oasis is easily approachable from the main road, with staff directing guests where to park, which is along the street. The tents are very comfortable and the AC was sufficient despite intense summer heat. All the amenities are there. One of the best things is that there are no problems with bugs inside the tent as long as you are careful in keeping the doctor closed. Evenings are filled with noises of nature, including coati that love to frequent the roof of the tent and patio. There is pure magic to that, being surrounded not just by jungle plants, but animals too. Yet, it is something to keep in mind for some guests: do not expect a Marriott or a Hilton. This is a very real nature hotel. The restaurant is amazing and the design is very slick. Staff are attentive and helpful at all times. There is a nice little bar as well. Prices are high, but reasonable for Tulum relative to other hotels. The main area that was a little disappointing was the cleanliness of the pool. The water was greasy and borderline murky looking. Thus, this was the only real downside of the property. The pool is tiny as well. The hotel does allow outside guests to pay money and visit, so that does not help with keeping the pool clean and is the only reason I cannot give 5 stars. The beach, while swimmable, was loaded up with seaweed in early summer. The staff did an amazing job trying to clean up the seaweed, but it felt like an impossible task as they worked most of the day, yet more seaweed kept coming. As a whole, a remarkable property that I can recommend with no hesitation.

It was so amazing to be lulled asleep every night by the loud, crashing waves. The property is no frills - there's no on-site spa, bar, or restaurant. But there's a beach club literally right next door which you can order from while enjoying La Conchita's private (and complimentary to guests) palapas and beach mattresses. There are also massages available in the beach area for a reasonable price - we saw many people partaking of them while we were there. Our room itself was big, bright, and comfortable. The bed was luxurious, the bathroom small-but-clean; and the room contained all the basic amenities we could need for our short visit: a small fridge to keep the beers cold, and a Nespresso machine for morning coffee. Our unit (#5) faced the beach directly, and we spent lots of time on our patio, watching the waves crash and the palm trees blow in the breeze. There are also several restaurants and bars lining the street, all within walking distance. Our favorite was Potheads, and elevated coffee shop with delicious food (and espresso, of course). We also dined at the tapas bar next door and it was delicious. They also offer a 10% discount to La Conchita guests for breakfast and dinner. When we left La Conchita we both agreed we can't wait to go back here on our next trip to the area!
