The only reason I give this place 3 stars, is because the gyros are good. Other than that, MEH. I've tried their "garlic dip" which tastes like bland mashed potatoes. No hint of garlic whatsoever. I normally wouldn't venture out and eat at a Greek/Mediterranean restaurant but I literally have no regrets! I got the lamb friskae and although its flavor is not similar to the things my flavor palette is accustomed to, I enjoyed it a lot! My friend got a steak and the portions are gigantic!! I love this restaurant, I really do! It's so cozy in there, quiet music, amazing service and delicious food. I'm crazy about their lentil soup and grilled octopus. There are some items in their menu that I didn't like, but I don't remember any dish that I really dislike. Maybe except for their deserts. Very nice place to spend your time with beloved ones. Like others, I was excited at the prospect of a Greek eatery in the neighborhood. We ordered the eggplant dip and stuffed clams to start - the dip was so very bland! It was void of any kind of flavor, but I figured it was a fluke, and waited for our entrees. Good greek restaurant. Try octopus, it's very good. I tried their house wines and was a bit disappointed. The food overall was great. We had their mixed appetizer spreads that I really liked, my friends were having fish which they liked. The tables are very close to each other due to the place being not that large, i assume it can have not more than 50 people. I recommend to make reservations ahead and ask where they would seat you. Make sure its not the first table by the door. Tough to find parking nearby , I spend over 15 minutes looking. If you see a valet parking across for another catering hall, try giving them $5 tip, they might help you. read more

My boyfriend and I always order delivery from Meze and I have to say we are always impressed. My boyfriend is Greek so finding great greek food for delivery has always been challenging for us since I moved to Brooklyn from Astoria. The gyro platter is amazing!! Their greek french fries are also great. The greek salad is always great and never soggy when we receive it. My boyfriend always gets the sausage in a pita and loves it as well. Dining at this restaurant is a pleasure. The food is always wonderfully tasty and made from fresh ingredients and the service is top notch. The lamb gyro is great as is everything I've ordered (I come here a lot). My favorite is the muscles. Really delicious. Rarely gritty. My advice is not to order for delivery though. It seems the portions are a bit smaller when you do. Go there..it's worth it. The ambience is really nice and they play videos of beautiful greek islands with blue water so you kind of feel like you're in Greece.It sounds cheesy but it's actually true. :) read more

I had bookmarked this restaurant to try based on the other yelp reviews. Our order taker was very pleasant and did not have a problem with a substitution I requested. Our order consisted of: Saganaki, Grape Leaves, 3 for all((Dip Sampler) this is where the substitution came in as I do not like Tarama so opted for Scordalia instead) and a Chicken Souvlaki platter which comes with Greek Salad and Greek Fries. The Saganaki was good and the pita was warm, toasty and fluffy all at the same time. The chicken on the souvlaki was overcooked or sitting way too long as it was so dried up it was actually crispy. The biggest disappointment of all was the salad which consisted of shredded leaf lettuce, a ton of red onions, 2 mushy tomato wedges and a bit of feta. Not a cucumber, pepperoncini, or kalamata in sight despite the description on the menu. The greek fries were cold but we had the food delivered so I wasn't too upset about that. The Scordalia tasted exactly like thick cold garlic mashed potatoes while the eggplant dip had no flavor at all. The tzatziki was excellent and fresh. The grape leaves were the best I've ever had anywhere in my life, that and the cheese are the reason this restaurant got 2 stars( I would have given 2 and a half if I could have). For 55 dollars I was very upset with the quality of most of what we received. Maybe it was an off day for them, but it was a bad first impression for me. read more

I'll write the good first: The decor and service were very good....The waitress was the owner's sister...Very nice... The grape leaves and Tzatziki were very good.... French fries good.... The souvlaki was good but they forgot to put onions in in and the person who ordered that had to request the onions..... The semi-bad news: 1)Moussaka: The moussaka was very good but there were about 2 grains of ground meat in it...Almost vegetarian moussaka....(cheaped out on ground meat).... 2)Skordalia: ...I paid 8.95 for a half a plate of mashed potatoes ....No hint of garlic whatsoever... 3)Soft Shell Crabs Francese: Crabs were crispy and fresh...Served in a puddle of tasteless dishwater broth out of a container....NO butter, lemon or parsley whatsoever....Tasteless except for the lemon I squeezed on it and salt... 4) Lamb Araka: Looked very good.....Unfortunately most of the lamb was mostly bone and fat....
