The studio space is beautiful and relaxing, it's a little sanctuary ! The teachers are extremely knowledgeable and caring .No matter what level or body restrictions you have they always seem to know what is needed. I use to bounce around to different studios but not since finding Metta.They offer many different classes at both locations. One of my favorites is the restorative with Nidra guided meditation. Metta is the best! I want to give a shout out to the Chair Yoga class and Jes. Everyone should try it! You don't just sit in a chair, you get a great workout and stretch. You feel fabulous when you leave. Jes gives you a lot of alternatives when you do poses and you can pick the one best suited to you. I love this yoga studio. Especially the Tues/Thurs 6:15 am Energy Flow classes - Gia and Zuzana are both fantastic teachers. You never know quite what type of class you'll get (depends on their mood!), but they give great individual adjustments and instruction. I've never regretted waking up early to get to one of those classes. I also enjoyed the Thursday 9 am class with Tommy, after attending it for the first time recently. I've never been to a super-crowded class, always plenty of space, but never awkwardly low attendance either. I keep purchasing the 10-class pass $125. If you purchase it on the day of your 10th class on your previous pass, they give you 10% off, so it's $112.50. First class is free, if you're an AZ resident. Go! read more

I took their restorative yin class and really liked it, would go back just for this class. Next time I wouldn't sit next to the window because it was loud from a bar downstairs. Since I only tried yoga from home using DVDs, a live interaction is much appreciated since I have lots of company and did make friends with other. I tried Metta Yoga because it was in the same area where my dog was getting his chemo treatments about 40 minutes from my home and I needed to do something while waiting. I have attended several yoga classes over my lifetime all over the world, and this studio has instructors and classes that are impressive. If it wasn't so far, I would be a regular student and I think they should open something in North Scottsdale/Carefree. read more

I just took my first restorative and zin class. I loved it. I definitely will add this class to my practice.

I tried my first class two days ago and it was amazing. I was sold. They welcomed me right away and they have lots of equipment (bolsters, straps, blankets etc). What I really liked about this place is they offered water and a mat rental without charging unlike most places. The instructor was kind and helpful. Also the studio is well maintained and clean. I pre purchased a 5 class pass that day. Much to my dismay the very next morning a Groupon for a much better deal popped up. It was for first time students only. Technically, I was no longer a first time student. I emailed the owner and she was awesome about it! She let me cancel my original purchase and get the Groupon deal instead. I have a feeling I am going to become a long time member of this studio due to its wonderful business ethic and awesome classes. read more

I have to admit that I come and go with my yoga phases. Why? I have no idea because I always leave Zuzana's yoga classes with an indescribable feeling of peace and energy. I know it sounds cheesy because I am no yogi, I'm more of a boot camp cardio junkie, but it's true. I remember when I started a few years ago, I just didn't get it. And then I took my first class with Zuzana in 2008 and, I swear, it completely changed my outlook on yoga. Her classes are amazing. She is able to challenge me (an advanced-beginner at best) as well as the truly talented advanced students in her classes, all without making me feel like an idiot when I nearly topple over while trying a move that's clearly out of my league. :) Instead she gives me encouragement for trying. And she makes it all look so darn easy. When I can't make it to class, Zuzana has a great flow yoga DVD that I enjoy doing. I love Zuzana's positive, peaceful energy...she's just completely genuine both as a person and an instructor. She's not up there to show off (yes, I've had those yoga teachers), she's up there to guide your practice and she does it with amazing grace. read more

I found Metta Yoga approximately two years ago as motivation to heal an autoimmune disorder. I had driven by the studio but thought "I can't bend like a pretzel , I can't move without pain, I don't have yoga clothes." Finally, after all medical options appeared exhausted I decided to get out of my own way and show up as I was completely raw in need of healing. I had spent most of the year in bed, so I was seeking refuge and relief from consistent pain. When I arrived at the studio, I instantly felt welcomed and at ease. With open arms, fellow yogis and the staff at the studio encouraged me. I kept showing up week after week looking forward to the relief of pain and the calming of my mind. I began to venture into other classes (into, flow, yoga walk, Ashtanga, Yin, etc.) and I am happy to report I am pain and medicine free. My Yelp review cannot fully express the gratitude and love I experience from the Metta community. The teachers are compassionate, experienced, and straight up cool. It is an honor to learn from teachers who meet you where you are by offering modifications so you can easily honor your body and how it shows up that day. I am blessed to have found the Metta community. It is a sanctuary where I can arrive in joy or with life struggles knowing I always leave feeling better than when I first entered. It is with great pleasure I write this review. I have known of Metta Yoga for a few years now after reaching out to them for a donation to benefit the animals. They have donated twice now and having seen and been to their new location, I became ecstatic that I was able to get 3 months in for unlimited classes. I have been to 2 classes now and the teachers are such positive, energizing folks. This is the place you go when you want to get serious about your health, not just in terms of body - but mind too. I have been to other studios that are just too "kitchy" and "trendy" where I did not necessarily feel like I was getting the support and peace of mind I realized I needed. Now that I live close to the studio, I aim to be a lifelong member and truly become more relaxed while enjoying getting my physical fitness in that does more for me than just lifting weights or cardio. I have been to MANY yoga studios in AZ and across the country, and Metta Yoga stands out for many reasons. The owner takes the time to personally get to know you and your name, there is a diverse group of instructors, and the facility is beautiful.
