They left a clamp to my transmission on after fixing a radiator then couldn't figure out the problem. After fixing other items saying it was the issue and costing thousands of dollars I took it to a local autoshop who found the clamp Metrowest had placed and not removed. I also tried to contact them to follow up and no follow up. Terrible customer service and car service. read more

I bought my Subaru Forrester in for a 50,000 mile checkup. There were a number of mixups and issues, the most important of which was I asked for a pre-trip checkup because we were going on a long trip. They sent us home with a receipt saying they had done the checkup. When we got to our destination the brakes were gone and the brake repairman also told us the tires were at the end of their life. It would have been better to know about the brakes and the tires before we went on the trip. I thought that was the point of a pre-trip inspection. When I called MetroWest after the trip to complain, they admitted that they had not done the inspection, because they had sent my car to their "express" service, which doesn't do inspections, only oil changes. They did not have an answer as to why the receipt said they had done an inspection. Not at all happy. read more

Wow, I am really surprised to read bad reviews about this place. My experience has been so overwhelmingly positive that I was moved to try to find an owner or manager today after my service to compliment them! Since the "big cheese" (as I referred to him) was out, I thought I'd do an online review instead. I bought my 2011 Subaru outback there, primarily because the Subaru dealership nearer to me didn't seem to want to bother with me in any way. I liked my previous Subaru and really wanted a new one, so I headed down the Pike. I bought my car from Jeff, who was A+ in every way, and continues to remember me by name whenever I come in for service. Mike, the service manager, has always been friendly and patient with me, and seems to be able to get me in whenever I need it. And I absolutely love their waiting room, which is clean, comfortable, and has abundant coffee from the Keurig machine! Altogether, it's been a wonderful experience working with them. In all, a somewhat shady experience. I wanted to check out a model that seemed like a great deal. I show up and the car isn't in but I get shown some other models (apparently a manager was using the car I was interested in as his personal ride). I get some information about finance rates etc and return a few days later (I had to schedule my own appointment, the salesperson who was supposed to call me never did). They have the car in stock this time around but it has six thousand more miles on it than advertised (which is a big deal for a car with thirty six. Apparently the manager who was using it as his personal ride was driving a LOT in the two months that he had the car). The rates for financing that I was told this time around were also two to three percent higher than what I was originally told and the whole thing started to smell like a bait-and-switch. In spite of the warning bells going off in my head, I made an offer, roughly $500 less than the original asking price since the car had 6k more miles on it than advertised. It was refused. I left. Apart from the sketchiness of my experience, the price offered on the Subaru was pretty good and the sales people were pleasant. It just seemed like a bad idea to enter into a relationship with a dealer with whom I had qualms about. read more

I didn't have anything set up ahead of time so I started down Rt. 9 until I hit a plethora of dealerships. I have to be honest: I did not stop here first. I went in on a busy Saturday and had to wait a bit until I was helped. The staff was accomdating and brought us waters while we waited for a salesman to become available. After about 15 minutes we were set up with Matt Donadio. He was very knowledgeable about the Subaru lineup as well as some other cars I was considering. We knew exactly what we wanted before we came in and had done our research with the pricing. That being said we only had to negotiate on my trade. Getting through to the Service Department by phone is harder than getting an audience with the Pope. ______________________________________________________________ We just bought our third Subaru from Matt. Matt has always been super responsive and very knowledgeable. Based on our previous relationship, we got the third deal done through email and got a very fair price. Matt has always been a straight up guy and very easy to do business with. The Forester XT pick-up and hand-off went smooth as silk. Business Manager was very easy to work with, explained everything and no high pressure antics. The service department has also improved considerably and wait times for getting the vehicle scheduled has improved considerably. My wife's car had a complex issue that developed (we think car got bumped in a parking lot) and the service department worked the issue hard and was very responsive and thoughtful. By biggest suggestion is to have the service department proactively work to schedule your next appointment before you leave. Our first experience with the dealership was our best auto buying experience up to that point. Our last one prior to that was a Honda Odyssey from the place we "shopped last" and the experience was slightly better than being water boarded. With two Subarus parked in the driveway, it may have been my imagination, but it seemed like I saw a lot more other Subarus popping up in the neighborhood after our purchases. I LOVE MY SUBBIE!!!!! New dealer renovation is nice. Will be back to MetroWest for next purchase. read more

I've called 4 times in the last 4 days trying to find out what's happening with my car. The first two times I got put on hold for 10 minutes and finally gave up. The third time I got a hold of a human who put me on hold for 5 minutes and then came back and told me they were going to call me right back and give me an update. A day passed with no update so I left a voice mail message. That was 24 hours ago and no call. I guess I'll just have to drive over there myself. Plus the reason why my car is there in the first place is that they sold me a total lemon. They've already had to replace the whole engine within the first year, and now the transmission is shot. This review is for the service department. Getting a service advisor on the line can be a little difficult as I had to call multiple times to actually speak to someone. I had a scheduled appointment for the front passenger side airbag inflator recall on my Impreza. I was told it would take about 2 hrs to complete and ended up taking 2.5 hrs. The wait wasn't the problem. I first noticed a side dash panel sticking out when entering my car. Not a big deal since all I had to do was push it back into place so that it would snap in. After parking my car at home, I was disappointed when noticing the edge on one side of the silver colored plastic dash panel now has deep pry marks on it from what looks like the tech attempting to remove the panel. The pry marks on the panel are now black in color from the silver finish coming off. I know dealer warranty work doesn't pay as well as a regular customer paying for service work, but care should still be taken when working on customer's vehicles. I recently had an airbag recall performed on our Honda CR-V and it was completed with no damage to the panels so I know it's possible. I would recommend finding another dealer to service your Subaru. read more

By far the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. Reached out about sale hours was told come on down, when I arrived there wasn't a single soul in sight. Ok that's fine, looked on the lot for what id be interested in. Okay, so I call make an appointment, call that morning to confirm what 2 vehicles I wanted to test drive, only to be told they only had a hatchback model of one, okay that's fine bur that's not what I'm buying. Test drive went fine, get back and waiting for the sale rep to bring out paper work, when another rep was working with another party going over all the promotions, savings, and deals... Only for my sales rep to come out, tell me Subaru leasing are trash and they don't really offer sales/deals. So someone was lying right off the bat. The sales reps and sales manager both wanted me to sign for a vehicle they didn't even have on the lot. So, at the point I said well just find an Impreza Sport. Sales rep said, we don't have one. Sales manager Jeff made some calls, yep no problem we will bring it over Monday. Monday comes and goes. Friday comes and the sale rep reaches out asking if I was still interested in the vehicle I looked at... I explained no, I was waiting around waiting to hear from Jeff about the sport. This sales rep threw his sales manager right under the bus and tells me Jeff was told no to bringing the vehicle over and had zero intentions of doing so. Oh did I mention I made it clear, I needed a vehicle as I work in public safety and my vehicle was wrecked in an accident the week prior to my first trip to the dealership. So, I reach out to Jeff who says the vehicle was still on hold but they are short staffed so he couldn't pick up the phone in 5 days to tell me the car I was waiting for wasn't ever coming. This is a common "game" played by Subaru, you know my father having worked for Subaru for many years. So, having had my time completely wasted by this dealership I reached out to VJ the manager and still haven't heard a peep back. Oh and I almost forgot, I reached out to another Subaru dealership in the state, huge price difference between the two for the same model/trim. Beware nothing but LIARS and SNAKES over there at MW Subaru. read more

I had a similar experience to the other reviewer. I took my 01 Legacy in for the 60k maintenance and was fast-talked into thinking my car was headed for the junk yard. I went in to talk to the (actually nice and helpful) sales department who informed me the mechanic who looked at my car was fired the very day he looked at my car. I had to pay $100 just go get my car back... just diagnostics no work done. They did not return phone calls... the phone just rings and rings and goes to voice mail. When I finally got to speak to the manager was condescending even though I told him I am not sure if I could trust the diagnosis of someone they saw fit to let go. . He was not helpful and made the situation even worse (I didn't think that was possible). I'd beware of this dealership. They just tell you what a piece of junk your not-so-old, fairly low mileage car is... but why don't you buy another Subaru. They may want to rethink their logic. The service department is making me rethink EVER buying another Subaru. read more

Do NOT under any circumstances take your car here for service. I've had a series of issues with their service department, some of which have cost me hundreds of dollars due to their incompetence. For example, when I had my car serviced, I was told I would need new front brakes in about 1000 miles. After about 800 miles, my brakes started squeaking. I brought my car to MetroWest, fully prepared to buy brakes, and they told me that the brakes were fine. They continued squeaking so I went back-again told they were fine. Finally I took it to sears where they immediately said I needed new brakes and because I had "waited so long" I now needed rotors and calipers. Replaced the front brakes at sears. It's clear that MetroWest never even looked at the brakes despite my asking them to multiple times. Fast forward a few months-I take it to MetroWest for an oil change assuming they can't mess that up. They have the nerve to tell me I need new front brakes and rear brakes (rear brakes had been replaced at MetroWest a few months prior to rear brakes situation). They were trying to sell me brakes without even having looked at them! Caught in a lie, they start backtracking, etc. they actually replaced virtually new rear brakes for free because of their lie. However, they rushed through the job and did it incorrectly so one of the brake pads was rubbing against a bracket so I had to get them replaced AGAIN elsewhere. This is just one of many bad experiences I've had there and I will never take my car there again. I complained about the horrible service I received and they never even bothered to respond. Also be prepared to be patronized and treated like you don't have a brain if you are a young woman. read more

So my '03 Impreza was acting up a bit. I decided to take it to a dealership thinking they'd have the best idea of what was going on. The head of the repair shop tried to convince me that my car was junk, that one of his guys *might* give me a grand for it, just for spare parts, but that otherwise I was doomed. The diagnosis was that I needed to replace my axles and the engine (two separate problems, fyi). I took it to a referral mechanic instead - the axle problem (noise really) was simply a piece of the heat shield had come loose and needed tightening. The engine noise was coming from a bent rod - but lasted another 30,000 miles before needing replacement. read more

Avoid this dealership!!! I leased a new 2018 Crosstrek in November 2017 and I'm still trying to get my refund back after I canceled the the 3rd year of my "free" two year maintenance plan a few days after I signed papers. Look over all paperwork when signing with the financial managers. They will get aggressive if you refuse to buy any additional plans and will adjust the numbers to make the offer look good. Do NOT purchase the maintenance plan- their prices are much higher than other Subaru dealerships. If you do notice their mistake, you will still have a hard time getting your money back even if you receive a receipt of the refund. They don't make the intiative to call their customers if the refund doesn't go through due to their own problems and then hope you don't notice so they make the profit. I was told they are too busy to call me back since it's the last day of sales this month... Shows how much they only care about money. read more

We got an Edmund's price guarantee for a specific 2015 car, with the stock number even listed on it. They call us not even 10 minutes later as we are getting in our car to head over there. They didn't tell us that the car we went there for was already sold until we got there. They gave us a price for our trade in that was low and a price for a 2016 that was high, and did not appear willing to negotiate. They did not seem to care if they had our business. They let us just walk out the door without trying to stop us. We went to Subaru of Wakefield right afterwards and purchased from them. read more

I went to MetroWest Subaru in Natick after negotiating a really good offer with CitySide Subaru in Belmont. (Not only was it a good deal, but they told me they would hold it while we decided and shopped around) I thought it was worth the shot to be an educated consumer and shop around. I arrived at the The dealership 10 minutes before it opened for an opportunity to look at the cars before speaking with anyone. Within thirty seconds the sales guy was breathing down my neck asking what I was looking for. Long story short, I politely interrupted him after he went all out explaining the different models without even asking if I already knew about the cars, or what stage of my shopping I was in... I let him know I already knew about the cars and had a good offer and was shopping for a great offer. He asked what I was offered. I told him, and with a dirty look he said, "Why would I offer you that? these cars are selling! We sold 17 cars yesterday." He then, without saying goodbye, turned around and walked away from me leaving me behind like a waste of his time. I think it is funny because he basically solidified that CitySide Subaru in belmont was actually offering me the great deal I was looking for already! LOL.
