We had short wait of 5 minutes as they have moved out some tables for social distancing. Our server Alisha was very nice and attentive. My wife loves waffles so she prefers the Belgian waffle.I am a biscuit and gravy guy. Had hash browns which were perfectly cooked just right on crispness. Bacon also perfectly cooked. Pretty average spot. Not a bad spot at all. I heard it was packed here so we waited til about 2 on a Saturday to get some lunch. We got seated right away and didn't have to wait. For 2:00, it was still quite a lot of people here. They serve alcohol. I thought that was pretty neat. I had the chicken tenders, French fries, and mashed potatoes with gravy. My other half had the biscuit n gravy, hash browns, and eggs. If I was to rate the tenders on looks, I'd give it below average. It wasn't a nice golden color. The taste however, wasn't bad at all. It came out with their creole mustard. Their creole mustard wasn't bad, either. Their French fries were sprinkled with seasoning, and their mashed potatoes came out with brown gravy. I felt that my sides were pretty average. The best thing here was the hash browns. It was perfectly cooked with a perfect crunch and color. The eggs were ordered over medium, and it wasn't bad, either. As far as the biscuits n gravy go, it was pretty average to me, too. All in all, I did not have a bad experience. The service was great. Today was less than ideal here at metro diner. I frequently look for places to where I can eat and take my dog with me. I have brought my pup and eaten at this location before. This being my 3rd time coming I was excited, however today we were turned away and told that no server wanted to cover the patio for service. It was a birthday brunch for me and my mother needless to say we are very disappointed. As this location clearly states on the website that it provides outdoor dining. For it being a calm Wednesday morning I'm very upset that no effort was made to service us..I'm not sure if or when we will decide to return. Silly me! I forgot to grab pictures! But simply put.. Metro nailed it again! I ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes, a side of hash brown potato's, and a side of bacon! Like I said.. Nailed it! Update: My friend is in the hospital and was craving food from Metro Diner. I decided I would go ahead and grab myself some dinner too. I wasn't about to go for the chicken again, but I opted for the meatloaf platter that came with mashed potatoes & gravy and green beans. Both veggies were awesome. Meatloaf of course wasn't close to homemade, but I didn't go into the meal with that expectation. I did enjoy the crust on the outside from what I am assuming was sliced and grilled (according to the menu anyway). However, the middle of my meatloaf had a raw hamburger patch in both pieces that came with the meal, so I ate the potatoes and green beans and called it a night. Lesson learned. One bad experience with undercooked chicken and a snarky manager has given me a bad taste for this place. I will say I have been back since that happened and was a habitual UberEats patron of this restaurant. Their mashed potatoes and gravy are good. Nothing can beat the strawberry butter. But it doesn't matter how good the food is, if management is poor, it trickles down from there. Now my bad experience was about a year to a year and a half ago, so management very well couldve changed hands since then. Always a fan when I am by one of these and the Murfreesboro location did not disappoint. Chicken and waffles is one of my go to comfort foods and the strawberry butter on their version was great. Only critique would be the dish need some spice, a bottle of Tabasco filled that gap some but just found myself wanting a bit more to counter the sweetness. My wife went with the more traditional biscuits and gravy with eggs and hash browns and couldn't finish half of it. Great portions and decent prices. First time eating at Metro Diner.... Ordered the Friday Fish n chips, was not impressed at ALL! It was 95% crust to 5% fish inside. Thought I was eating lobster or something without flavor just a shell. Once I finally got to the meat/fish inside it was dry as hell! Now the sides were great! I ordered macaroni and mashed potatoes with gravy..Delicious! I sent the fish back and opted for the Spicey honey chicken sandwich...it was just tenders with the nasty honey sauce on them put in a brochette bun , nothing spectacular. Our waiter was a young man/kid who was very hospitable, courteous and prompt. Inside setup was cool, spacious, and clean. After seeing Metro packed out the door for breakfast this morning, we had to try it for dinner; however, it wasn't anything special. We were not really greeted upon entering the front entrance. After reviewing the menu, our waitress was quick to answer questions and friendly-- as it was our first time. Loved our brunch there last weekend! We all tried something different and seriously everything was delish. I got the big meal with pancakes, a meat, potatoes, eggs and a biscuit. I couldn't finish it all so my nephew was happy to take home the extra for a second meal. Pancakes were crispy edged and fluffy centers. Bacon was cooked perfectly and the home fries were great. The half-waffle came with eggs, cheese grits, sausage, and a biscuit. A lot of food! All was good. (Ask for strawberry butter for the waffle.) This the same as the Bissell Breakfast listed on the menu but if you prefer waffle instead of pancakes ask for the Half-waffle Breakfast which is not on the menu. The lemon-blueberry pancake was good but not much blueberry. The lemon topping is sweet enough that you don't really need syrup. Cinnamon roll pancakes were delicious! The service was very slow, my son asked twice, when is the food coming out, but... when it arrived, we were all VERY satisfied! The crunch on the fried chicken was super yummy, their strawberry butter was extra delicious, the strawberry milkshake was smooth and flavorful, the orange juice and pineapple mimosas will not leave you disappointed, and the hashbrowns were PERFECTLY cooked (crunchy), just the way I like it!! Our hostess was very friendly and intuitive and sat us where we would be comfortable, our server, Summer, was fast and knowledgeable about menu items and specials. The food was delivered fast and was very fresh. As my tip states the large salad is large, bring your appetite. The shrimp and grits were good although I like mine a little more spicy. I ordered the pulled pork mac stack which was pretty mediocre to me. The pulled pork and mac n cheese were basic. Nothing about the pork or mac stood out. I did like the cornbread waffle that came with it tho. My boyfriend got the bold city burger which was enjoyable. It tasted good and is pretty big. I was excited to finally try this place but my meal was kinda just discouraging. Brunch is my favorite time to eat here! Food is always hot and fresh. Service is good and their mimosas are great!

The atmosphere is very friendly and all of the servers welcomed us and made us feel at home. What I really love is you can order breakfast, lunch, or dinner all day long...the only exception I saw was the corn bread waffles which were available after 3pm (gotta try them). They have quite an extensive offering of meals and sandwiches for adults and kids...along with a bar offering beer, wine, and a few select drinks like Mimosa and Bloody Mary. Little Alice went with the half-Belgian Waffle (omitting the powdered sugar), while my daughter selected the "classic" Grilled 3-Cheese and Fries and a cup of Caramel Cappuccino. I went for the Three Egg Breakfast with hash browns to which I added onions and cheese, toast, sausage links, and a coffee. As for the Belgian Waffle...the little one INHALED it...LOL. She even went two-fisted holding a quarter waffle in each hand alternating bites. The Grilled Cheese was excellent with a crispy outside and soft gooey cheese in the middle and the fries were really good but the Caramel Cappuccino was just "OK" and needed some sweetening. My breakfast was very good...the eggs perfectly cooked, the hash browns had a lot of flavor, and I really enjoyed the link sausage...they had a nice country sausage taste. Watching foods being delivered to other tables was entertaining and the size of the portions are large. Our waiter Cody took good care of us, but my only recommendation might be to not be in such a rush to clear the table while we are still seated. I just had one of the worst dining experiences at a place that used to be great. Went in at 10:30 for breakfast. Told by the host that the counter seating was being wait listed. As I stood in line to put my name in, 2 people came in and took 2 open seats at the counter. When I asked the host again, he said "oh go ahead and take a seat if two open up." We were then able to sit, only to wait 1:45 minutes for our breakfast. The restaurant was busy however the issue was the to go and delivery services that took the kitchens priority. We watched as a line at least 5 people deep, for the entire time we were there, at the pick up counter was served over and over again while the in restaurant diners were kept waiting. We watched as the manager served several others at the bar with the same line of "it is just not our day today!" We also watched as my partners waffles sat under the warmer for a good 15 minutes. While our meal was delivered, the manager used his now familiar line of it just wasn't their day and the bartender apologized because they were out of sausage gravy. At this point we said, I get you having a busy day but to sit here and watch all of these to go orders go out the door while we waited over an hour and half is unacceptable. He then decided to comp. the meal. 5 mins later, the sausage gravy was brought out. This added insult to injury. The bartender serving us lied and said they were out of gravy and yet it miraculously appeared 5 mins later. From that point on the bartender ignored us, wouldn't refill my drink and refused to even acknowledge us. Up to that point, we intended to tip the server as this wasn't all her fault. We tried to get her attention to get a bill so that we could at least tip her since neither of us had cash. When her attitude kicked in and she failed to even acknowledge us, we left. We will not be back again as obviously your door dash and Uber eats customers take priority over the dine in patrons. Your priority is misplaced. read more

Tons of options from coffee to breakfast to lunch, oh my! We came here for a "Friendsgiving work lunch" and sat outside on their heated patio amidst this fall weather. I got the Bissle Breakfast which came with eggs, sausage, toast, hashbrowns, and pancakes. It was all delicious and reasonably priced.
