Had the eggs Benedict. Delicious!!! Hubby ordered fish and chips. Coleslaw was a little underdressed. Overall really enjoyed our meal.

#NOTceliacfriendly Not impressed... As far as the service, we waited and had to ask for napkins and silverware AFTER we were served. The shake ordered was sitting on counter and we had to get up grab it ourselves as it was melting. I was given a GF menu and was waiting and waiting for my dish to be served once my family was served. The nice waitress came and apologized and told us they accidentally used regular toast so they were remaking it. 10 minutes later she returned and said the manager was going to come out and speak with me because there was issue with my order. This is the moment we asked for our napkins and silverware as mentioned above. The manager later comes out to say they are out of the GF bread so they were cutting a GF bun to shape. My order was removed after we reminded the waitress to please remove the additional charge for GF bread since in the end my "avocado toast" was served on 2 pieces of wilted lettuce. The manager then comped my entire order which was nice but yea.... So in the end we can now say we tried the place but definitely will not be on my to return list read more

We were hanging out with neighbors, one evening, and started talking about Metro Diner. None of us had eaten dinner, yet, so we decided to give it a go. Now, I will say that we got there, late. Just about an hour before closing time. The restaurant was about 30% full. We were seated quickly, and drink orders were taken quickly. Drinks arrived, and food orders were taken. Impressively, the food arrived pretty quickly. There were just a lot of issues - every dish was missing something (i.e. powdered sugar missing from a monte cristo sandwich, salsa missing from my omelette, etc.). But, I suspect this was related to it being so late, as I am sure the staff was ready to end their day and just wanted to get orders out quick (not that it excuses it, but makes it a bit understandable). The biggest issue was any food that was fried. It all tasted nasty - like the oil in the frying bin had not been changed in months. Yuck. That was surprising as we have heard nothing but good things about Metro Diner. We all ate what we could, quickly. Paid our checks, and left. Being that we have heard so much good about Metro Diner, we will likely give it another go - just much earlier in the day. read more

Really good breakfast place! We went there for lunch, and tried all the variations of Eggs Benedict (not intentionally) and they all were so so good. Mimosas were 2.99 which is a steal, and were the perfect combo with the eggs. The atmosphere was great too, felt like an old school diner and a wonderful place to chill and have a great brunch. read more

Have enjoyed Metro Diner twice since it opened in the Boro. The staff have been extremely friendly. The menu is varied and the daily specials are a wonderful feature. The tables are fairly close together- so it's not a place for a romantic dinner- but perfect for business lunch or family meal out. The dining bar is a great feature and kinda of throwback to yesteryear. Our food arrived at our table both times within 20 minutes and our order was perfect and delicious. I recommend the Rueben sandwich- excellent! read more

After reading all the comments about how awesome Metro Diner is and my boyfriend had been and raved we decided to bring our friends from Florida. Bad idea. My boyfriend asked to have butter put on his toast when it was hot and that wasn't done. Our friend ordered a second drink and it never came. I order a ham biscuit and hashbrowns. When the order came there was no ham biscuit and my hashbrowns were raw. Everybody at the table eats their breakfast as I sit and wait on mine. I decided when everybody else was done eating that I would cancel my order. I will not be back. Very sad, no one stepped up and made sure I got my food. read more

Well I finally made it to the hip new diner. Tried a few times before, but always a long wait. First strike, the tiny waiting area, which is kinda sad for such a large appearing building space. This place is small, like squeeze in a can small. Only one bathroom per gender for a ton of customers, no stalls, just one toilet! My wife didn't find this amazing since she had to wait in a line. You can't get inside of there is a wait, people literally stand in the entrance doorway to the inside. So despite the 35 minute wait, we said we are staying this time around. Well, I really wanted to like it, the menu seemed promising and the photos and marketing materials make it look appealing. I am not sure if I ordered the wrong thing, but I wasn't impressed for what it's worth. The fish and chips was probably close to the worst I've ever had. Luke warm, and battered in some odd chicken tender type stuff. The tartar sauce was funky. I substituted hash browns for the fries, probably the best thing on the plate, honestly. My wife had the French dip, soggy fries. The sandwich was bland, no flavor at all. Just bread, meat and cheese on a toasted roll. She didn't finish it. Got the kids pancakes for my son, they were either small or big, some hard some soft, and they had pieces of other food from the griddle on them in some places. We talked to the table beside us, since we were so close and asked their opinion. The lady had the pork and mac cornbread waffle dish, her exact words, "it was okay, but it wouldn't order it again." Kinda the same feeling for me. For a new place, it's busy, but I think the shine will wear off soon. Good concept, for a chain, but poor execution. I swear I heard "runners please", way more than what my wife was saying, super loud environment. Service was minimal and the pay at the table tablet was strange to just leave it sitting there in the midst of dirty plates. The food isn't anything to come back for in my opinion. See for yourself. My husband and I were in the area buying furniture and the salesman at the store suggested Metro Diner as it had just opened and he had already been there 4 times that week. So we went there and they were packed and the wait for a table was 45 minutes, and we were going to leave until the hostess said there were seats at the open bar by the kitchen so we sat there and it was so much fun watching all the food being cooked, and all the cooks talk to you over the counter and explain what they are making AND YOU WANT TO ORDER 1 OF EVERYTHING!!!! We ordered a hamburger and a Reuben and split them in two and each had a half, and they were both great! Now the hamburger wasn't your typical hamburger it had like a coleslaw mix, but was good! And the Reuben was the best I have had in a long time! Service was great! I would highly recommend this place and suggest sitting by the kitchen! read more

We went out for dinner to try the new restaurant. When we came in the hostess assigned our table and we are seated. We waited for 20 minutes for the waiter to get our drinks and orders but no one is coming to check on us. We decided to leave the restaurant and find somewhere else. This was a horrible experience for our first time going. We will not be going back. Poor service. read more

Holy moly do not go! We arrived and a girl at the hostess desk asks our name to write down as there seems to be no tables. We tell her and she says "I'm not on the clock" and walks away. Another person took our name and said it would be 5 minutes. Ok so we sit down. Another couple comes in right behind us. A guy asks them how many and the proceeds to seat them. The woman says "I think they were here first " the guy didn't care and sat them anyway. Mkay Next the first girl who wasn't "on the clock" says follow me and takes us to the table she had been cleaning. And it was not very clean. We sat there for a bit over 7 minutes before anybody acknowledged us. Then the waitress asked us what we wanted to drink. Then walked off. A group of 3 were seated at the table behind us. The waitress asked them what they wanted to drink. Then she brought out their drinks. We waited over 11 minutes for her to bring our drinks after we ordered them. Finally we ordered food. Having never had chicken and waffles before I ordered that. My sweetie ordered the turkey dinner. After some time I see a woman taking food to another table. Chicken and waffles and turkey dinner. The people go hey we didn't order this. The rando girl then walked past our waitress and returned the food to the kitchen. Eventually she brought it to us. Now the food. Wow. The chicken was cooked and hot (I was surprised) the waffles were ice cold and had a gob of cold strawberry butter on them. No way was that butter going to melt on the cold waffles. I tasted a waffle and it was seriously terrible. Tasted like plain flour. Inedible! The turkey dinner lol so gross. To be fair the turkey tasted good. The mashed potatoes were cold and the gravy on them looked like it had been setting out for too long. Then there was the glob. Of what we could not tell. When our waitress came by we asked what it was. Apparently it was squash and zucchini but it kinda looked like a grey blob. 1/2 way through our experience I saw on the back wall that apparently they have specials. Lol would have been nice to know. This 'meal' cost $36 not included any tip. Basically we left the food and went home and ate lol not going back. I think the management is very very poor. From the moment you walk in it is a bad experience. With all the amazing places to eat in Murfreesboro there is no way we will go again! read more

Just ate at the Metro Diner in Murfreesboro, TN and here is what I think, If you own a eatery within a country mile of this place, you should go ahead and order your "going out of business" signs. Its that good, stick to your ribs food, no foo foo stuff. read more

Best breakfast experience outside of momma's house! Chicken and waffles with the strawberry butter, hot sauce and syrup was legit!

Great food, great environment, decent prices. We have been here twice and just really enjoy the ambiance it brings to our town. There's nowhere in town really like it and that's what makes it unique. You can find an array of diner style foods here with a combination of Cajun, Southern, breakfast style, etc. Seating is limited so be prepared to wait with large groups. read more

My husband, disabled son and I just had breakfast here. We are traveling Florida to Wisconsin. It's not always easy finding a good, clean restaurant. The food was great and the service was top notch. Very friendly and caring staff. The bathrooms were clean and spacious with a separate bathroom for disabled. We travel back from WI to FL 2-3 times a year. This was our second visit to this restaurant. Both times we waited at least 10 minutes, maybe longer, before anyone stopped at our table. We ordered our food when we ordered drinks as we had plenty of time to look at the menu before a server came to our table. I was facing the kitchen area and saw when our food was placed in the area for the server to pickup. Our food sat there for at least 15 minutes while the server was chit chatting with other employees, who seemed to have nothing to do the entire time we were there. The place was not busy, maybe 5 other tables occupied while we were there. Food was ok, service seriously lacking. Not likely to visit a third time. read more

Revisited Metro Diner today at breakfast and I now have a new review to share. We got to the diner about ten thirty and after a fifteen minute wait we got a small booth. We were promptly asked our drink order and following was our meals. I am ordered a breakfast that included hash browns which I wanted extra crispy and my husband ordered eggs over hard. We were pleasantly surprised that our food came as quickly as it did since the kitchen was slammed! Our food was EXACTLY the way we ordered it and very tasteful! The staff was also helpful refilling my husband's coffee. Our waitress Dallas, was so kind and attentive. She refilled our drinks quickly and brought all of our condiments needed in a timely manner. We really felt like we got the vip treatment from the start. This second experience was much more pleasurable than our first and now we will definitely be back and tell friends about it. read more

Went with the breakfast fare that trip...DYNAMITE! Fast forward to last weekend for trip #2. Went for the special that day, country fried steak for hubs, beef tips for me! I've been here recently for lunch and dinner. Everyone working wore masks which was appreciated. Husband had the shepherds pie and the chicken pot pie. He liked both very much. I had a Bloody Mary and a chicken tenders Benedict. Both were very good. Also had a chicken salad croissant which was messy and ok. These were our first times here, but won't be our last. read more
