Visiting family in Murfreesboro and stopped by for lunch. We sat outside on the covered patio as they did not have tables inside that would sit a party of five. In light of that, the service was good and the food was better. I had the spicy chicken sandwich and really enjoyed the sweet/hot sauce as well as texture of the bun. We had an incredible evening. The cinnamon swirl pancake with its burnt cinnamon applied in concentric rings, the light brown cinnamon butter, copious pecans, all drenched in maple syrup - never tasted anything like it. And our server, Sophia, made the experience all the more memorable. She was chipper, quick, and informed on the menu. This is grand opening week so I decided to give this restaurant a try it met all my expectations!!! Kelly my server gave great recommendations I had the Bissell entree, I upgraded my pancakes to the cinnamon roll pancakes and added strawberries. My breakfast was . Everything was perfection. The cinnamon roll pancakes had real chopped pecans on top with cinnamon butter. My home fries were perfect, bacon nice and crispy. Biscuit melted in my mouth. Collectively, I really enjoyed this place. My meal, though it was kind of a small portion, was really good. I had the pot pie. But the best part was the bloody Mary's. They are cheap! But because they're cheap, I expected them to be terrible. I was wrong! Thankfully. The bartender really hooks you up! I'd really like to come back and try other menu options. This was not a good experience! Rude girl that seated us. We sat there for 20 minutes with no one acknowledging us. We asked one of the servers if she knew who our server was. She was very pleasant and said "I'll find out". She came back a few minutes later and said "she will be right with you." We waited another 5-7 minutes. No one ever came. We got up and left. I've eaten here many times now since they opened up in Murfreesboro with my wife. Each time trying something different. My favorite dish to date is the fried chicken and waffles with a house made hot sauce and syrup combo on the side for the chicken and a houde made fresh strawberry better for your waffles! Simply amazing! Total southern comfort for! My wife thoroughly enjoyed their Montee Cristo Sandwich served with a raspberry compote. Lightly dusted with powdered sugar! The portions are not only huge but the food is fantastic! The service can be slow at times and seem a little disorganized but, everyone on staff is extremely nice. So we'll be back. read more

Wait staff was very friendly and atmosphere was clean. Food was ok. Sausage gravy was good, hash browns were greasy and tasted old. Cheesy grits are very plain and not really up to par with the claim "the cheesiest". Chicken fried steak was also greasier than necessary. Overall, it'd probably be better on a weekend for breakfast since there's more activity and food tends to be refreshed more often. We'll go back to try lunch sometime. Food was good. My yo holla bread was extremely dry despite having the cream cheese and apple pie filling. My family and I were almost done with our meal before my side item that I ordered with the meal arrived at the table. We were looking for a place to have brunch. We chose to try Metro Diner due to the reviews. We had about a 15 min wait which was fine. We weren't in a hurry. I ordered the fish and chips figuring it would be a nice change. The wife had the biscuit and gravy with scrambled eggs and bacon. Our guest had the fruit waffle with a side of biscuits and gravy. When the food arrived it all looked good but it went down from there. The fish was more batter than fish. The wife's eggs and bacon were cold, the gravy tasted like it came out of a box and nothing was seasoned while cooking. The only thing we were satisfied with was the waffle. read more

This place was really great for breakfast this morning! It is a little pricy but it is definitely worth it! You get so much food. The home fries were delicious! I got the Bissel Breakfast and My husband got the biscuits and gravy and it was delicious as well! It did get very busy on Saturday morning so keep that in mind as well when going here on the weekend! I would definitely recommend the Metro Diner. read more

Awesome food! This is my second visit to the establishment. One of my top favorite restaurant for breakfast or lunch.

I have been here several times and the food and service is great. Portions are large. I am sure there are busy times and that should be taken into account before leaving a super negative review based on what was wanted and not what was feasible. No experience is perfect, but this is a really good place to eat whatever you are in the mood for anytime of day or night.
