Bold City Burger is my fave. I keep thinking about ordering other things, but I love this burger too much to stray. My husband had the BBQ mac and Cheese tonight. It was good, but not the best thing he has ordered here. That honor goes to the Chicken and Waffles, which we have each ordered before tonight. We also like Huevos Rancheros, and the Fish and Chips. The food here is good, and there is plenty. One tiny complaint, we had apple pie and it was served COLD! I wondered if that was just a slip, or if all of the apple pie is served cold. Weird. I'm revising my review after researching my reviews and not finding the one I thought I left after first trying breakfast at Metro. When I ate, I made a point of snagging the manager on the way out and complimenting the house on a perfect breakfast. I even told him how rare it is to have soft-scrambled eggs right, hash browns crisp, and great bacon. More recently, I tried supper and was disappointed to find a special that I thought was overpriced for what was profferred, but that is the exception, so I'm rewriting here to give a fair summary rating, as I believe the totality of the offerings are a good deal. Service is also attentive and friendly. We need more places like Metro. read more

Our 2nd visit, went much like the first, but only better! We went in for brunch around 10:35 Sunday morning. The place was packed but we scored immediate setting. I had the Reuben and it was the BOMB! I wanted the sandwich with the sauce on the side and the fries extra crispy, and that's the way it came out! FABULOUS! My wife had a half order of the Avocado Toast with two scrambled eggs and she thought they were out of this world. We were served by a very nice and sweet young lady named Rachel F. Went back again last Sunday for brunch and enjoyed another excellent meal and top notch service. I ordered the meat lovers omelette with a side of hash browns and a biscuit. The omelette was prepared perfectly with tons of flavor and an excellent selection of meats and spices. The hash browns were cooked to a crisp without burning which is not as common as it should be at other restaurants. The biscuit was sizable and delicious. At $9.99, this dish is also an excellent value. Parking and access can be a bit tricky on busy times but the food is worth it. Went back again last night - ordered the meat omelette with cheese grits and a biscuit. The omelette was amazing and loaded with perfectly cooked sausage, bacon and ham. The biscuit was hot, rich and better than most. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was the poor quality of the grits - no flavor whatsoever - I added hot sauce, salt and pepper but it did not help very much. The cheese seemed to either Velveeta or cheap American - anything less than sharp shredded cheddar is unacceptable. The cheese also seemed to be added as an afterthought and so what I really had were mediocre grits with some cheese dropped in at the last minute. Sorry for the rant, but the quality of the food here has always been superior and the service as usual was excellent. Just need to fix the grits! read more

Metro diner has the best waffles in the Huntsville area. And the chicken and waffles are my favorite, but it comes at a cost (1xxx+ calories). It's very busy and the seating area can't keep up with demand. Long wait times, but the food is delicious. Wish they could fry half a chicken and add waffles for less than 1000 calories ;). read more

We decided to try this place since we love classic diners. They were absolutely swamped with staff and customers and trainers for the staff. The food unfortunately wasn't served hot but our waitress immediately took it to the back. Within minutes the manager stopped by to apologize and shortly after he also delivered the food and made sure we were satisfied. Now that we could eat the food I have to say the pot roast was delicious and the mashed potatoes had chunks which is my favorite way to have them. My wife said her French dip was one of the best she's had in a long time. We'll definitely go again and look forward to trying some of their breakfast specials. read more

With no guests and no travel this year, I just could not work up any enthusiasm to cook a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. So, when I saw Metro was offering a Christmas dinner special I decided to order dinner for four. There was a little delay the day of Thanksgiving, but the manager called me to explain and apologize. The only result was a minor delay in picking up my order which had no impact on our dinner time. The dinner was easy to reheat and tasted very good! There was even enough left overs for a turkey sandwich today! My only (minor) complaint was I wish we got more gravy. I admit I like to douse everything with gravy though, so maybe that's just me? Just as good as the location in Tuscaloosa, if not better. The cajun chicken pasta is definitely my favorite. Everything is perfection down to the garlic bread. I love Metro!! The employees are always super nice and helpful. I wanted to customize my dish and my waitress walked through everything with me, double checked with the chef, and even came back after to make sure it was exactly what I wanted.
