Fried Chicken Sandwich with large pieces of chicken and thick bacon.

I met a friend for breakfast. I specifically chose Metro Diner because the Manager, Jason, is excellent and will accommodate customers with food allergies. We met at 10 am and we're seated quickly. Our waitress came by and took our drink orders and handed us menus and flatware. Pam is allergic to beef, pork and shrimp. We started to explain her allergies to our waitress who didn't quite understand what Pam was saying do I asked her to ask Jason to come to our table. He appeared in about 2 minutes. We explained Pam's food allergies and he offered grilled chicken tenders and double hash browns. Jason cooked her foods in skillets instead of the flattop to ensure no cross contamination. He even threw in an extra tender at no charge. Pam said her food was delicious and we thanked Jason for taking such great care to ensure Pam's foods were pristine. I ordered a side salad and the turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes, and green beans plus an order of grilled chicken tenders and hash browns to go. He threw in a complimentary tender for me. I highly recommend Metro Diner on Airport Road. Jason is the best Manager in this town and he works very hard to accommodate his customers. He goes out of his way to ensure his customers have great food and are satisfied customers. He is the BEST!!!

Chicken and waffles

Came here on a Sunday at breakfast time. It was pretty busy but we were seated pretty quick. There were lots of people working so they seem to get customers in and out pretty fast. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Hubby got the biscuits and gravy. Chicken was great, hot and crispy and there were 4 pieces. Waffles were a little underdone. I asked for a little extra strawberry butter which they provided. Hubby didn't think the gravy was as good as another location we have been to but he still liked it well enough. Service was good. Staff were all very nice. I would eat here again.

Meat lover's omelette with what they termed a "tiny" pancake ... it was plate-sized!

Gave this place a go rather than IHOP...it was so worth it! Prompt and friendly service. Clean and cheery. Our server Tammy was amazing. Portions were huge and good, a rare combination. Enjoyed the 80s music, which wasn't too loud for talking. Restrooms were clean. All in all, a great find and we'll be back again.

Burnt toast

Server was nice, offered to bring more toast since one side was black, returned later with more burnt toast. Scrambled eggs were good, hashbrowns were very greasy and we could not finish them.

Belgian Waffle w/strawberries & turkey sausage. Sorry ,I forgot to get a photo before eating. It's wonderful!

Strawberry Belgian Waffle w/ turkey sausage was wonderful. Server recommended it and I do too.

We love going to the Metro Diner and were thrilled to find one in Huntsville. We decided to come early morning for breakfast before the brunch rush. We didn't have to wait to be seated. However, it took a while for anyone to acknowledge us. Then a kind older lady named Beverly came and asked us if anyone came by yet. She was great! Our table wasn't in her section, but that didn't stop her. We ordered coffee to start. She kept it coming. I got the southwest breakfast burrito. My husband got the biscuits and gravy. I always get the gas browns with cheese and onion. So good!!!

I imagine this diner has 4 star potential. Based on just one visit while in town recently, it felt like a solid 3 based on our order. The service was super friendly and fast and everything was clean. I ordered the fried chicken benedict--it was good if not great. The chicken was delicious, the poached eggs were just slightly under-done (runny white not just yolk) though I understand it's a fine line. Definitely still good and more than edible. The biscuit was a lot crumblier and dryer than I expected but the hollandaise sauce was good. It plated great (check the pic). The home fries were well seasoned and cooked but room temp when served, for both me and my dining partner. We would have preferred they have been hot. She ordered the bacon, egg. and cheese croissant and loved it. Prices were just a tad higher than expected but not exorbitantly so. I'd definitely give them another shot if ever in the area again.

The Bissell Breakfast Pancakes

I have never tried Metro Diner but I am so glad that another place in the area had messed up a wait list so we decided to try it out. I wasn't sure what to get but I was told the Chicken and Waffles are amazing. They also had a few specials on a black board. Like a sweet and spicy chicken and waffles, a southwest burrito and a meat burrito. However, after looking through the menu, I decided on the Bissell Breakfast. It seemed to have it all, and it absolutely had it all. The pancakes (2) were amazing. Light and fluffy served with hot syrup on the side. The hash browns were cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The eggs weren't cooked to my liking I ordered over medium and got more of an over easy. (The whites were still runny) but in their defense if I would've had more stomach room I could have very well eaten the eggs with the fabulous toast they provided. The bacon was nice and crispy, toast was a 9-grain with butter, and lastly I ordered a side of cheesiest grits because why not. My favorite items in order were: pancakes, hash browns, cheesiest grits, bacon, toast, eggs. The pancakes were perfect. Hash browns delicious. The coffee is amazing coffee as well it was extremely smooth. Service was pretty good. They were training new staff which was great, our order did take a little bit but it was ok. I enjoyed the time there and loved the atmosphere. Overall it was a wonderful experience I will definitely be back!

I was pleasantly surprised at how lovely the decor of this restaurant. It was very modern and chic with great esthetics. That hands down was a plus for me. Moving on to my experience, it was actually very lovely. The server was really nice and was helpful reviewing the menu with my party. The menu was pretty good. It had typical American brunch/breakfast, but they also had a few twist to some of the item. Very tasty. This was a solid pick for brunch. It's an IG worthy place to be, and the food is solid which is a win to me. If I lived here, I could definitely see myself going back. Honestly, a very pleasant first time at this restaurant.

Really struggled with a rating because for me 3 = adequate experience but probably won't…read morereturn and 4 = positive experience and would be down to come back, and I honestly am not sure if I can see myself coming here again because it's kind of niche and the food didn't blow my mind...but I like the modern atmosphere and I did enjoy my order, so I'll give it a 4. Anyway, this business is off Whitesburg Drive right next to Bonchon; iirc they're owned by the same folks but I might be wrong. The parking lot is a little hard to navigate. I went for a treat after getting my hair done about a week ago. The menu most heavily features Japanese style soufflé pancakes, which are a good bit thicker and pleasantly jiggly compared to American pancakes. They also offer croffles, or croissant waffles, usually in the form of a sandwich for a more savory option, a couple of croffle eggs benedicts, and other desserts such as burnt-top cheesecakes and I thiiiiiink maybe macarons and rolled cakes with cream fillings (think Swiss cake rolls). They have coffee and a few speciality lattes to drink as well. The inside was very clean and modern. It was pleasantly busy but despite seating being pretty limited I found a spot easily enough. You order at the counter but an employee will bring your food to you when it's ready. Service was a bit of a mixed bag. The person who took my order was pretty surly and disinterested, but the man who brought my food out to me and was bussing tables went out of his way to say a friendly few words to me and check in. I ordered the tiramisu soufflé pancakes and an iced Nutella hazelnut latte. Both were quite pretty to look at and came out quickly. The latte was pretty sweet, which is how I like them, though not sweeter than the tiramisu pancakes -- I'd say an appropriate level of sweet for a more dessert-y coffee drink. The pancakes themselves were, well, fluffy. They are quite different from American style pancakes but certainly have their own merits; subtly sweet, bouncy, and fun to eat. These came with a sort of chocolate syrup/drizzle in a pot for personal portion control, a sprinkling of pretty and ripe blackberries and raspberries, and a sweet and creamy sort of tiramisu topping. It all melded together into a decadent but not cloying meal. The order comes with two pancakes and I thought that was plenty to eat given how rich it was, though I did find it a little pricy. Overall, I'd recommend this place as a good option to try soufflé pancakes -- I don't think they can be found elsewhere in Huntsville, so if you're curious, give them a go. I don't know if these are the best representatives ever given my own inexperience, but it certainly beats never having tried them at all.

My girlfriens and I were genuinely excited for Valentine's Day here, but for $135 per person, not including drinks, the experience was extremely disappointing. We expected top-quality service and atmosphere, but instead, we were squeezed into a tiny, cramped room with three other couples under dusty overhead lights. We were so close to the other couples we had to speak at an extremely low whisper not to interrupt or intrude on their conversation, especially since there was no overhead music to drown out the noise. To top off the lack of atmosphere, we actually received a phone call halfway through our meal telling us we would be paying a 'no-show fee' while we were already sitting there. The portion sizes were even more disappointing. I understand that fine dining portions can be small, but this was ridiculous. I had four raviolis for dinner, my grilfriend had a single crostini. Her meal could fit in the palm of her hand. We left the restaurant still hungry. Also, the service was lacking genuine kindness and care. When my girlfriend's Chocolate Crème Brûlée arrived tasting like ash, the server tried to explain to me what a Crème Brûlée was instead of listening to what I was saying. It was obvious that there was something wrong since mine tasted fine. We had to CONVINCE her that it was burnt and that I wasn't lying about the taste. After she "verified" it was true, there was no apology for the mistake, and a 20% automatic gratuity was still added onto the bill, not including the fact that my drink was largely empty for the night. I get it, its valentines day, the night gets busy. But the service we were given was nowhere near representative of a $100+ tip. Don't get me wrong, the food tasted amazing, but when we look online and it's obvious this place reduced their portion sizes and hiked up their prices just for Valentine's day it's hard to recommened them. We won't be back.
