Love this place, an underrated gem in columbus. Food is always good and fresh whether you are dining in or getting to go. I've always had amazing service while dining in. Would 100% recommend. read more

Food was delicious and ready to go for pickup immediately! Will definitely go again when in Columbus GA!

Food is bland....! The southwest bowl was watered down. The hash brown was under cooked. Vegetables in the dish were prepared with no seasoning. The ingredients were the only thing "southwestern" about it. For $11.99 I could've went to Waffle House for the same price and got a breakfast bowl. read more

Food was fast. Music was loud. When I asked them to turn it down, they did, but only very slightly. Eggs were undercooked where the whites were runny. Biscuits were good. Waitress was nice. read more

Metro Diner - Chicken & Waffles , Avocado Sandwich, Cinnamon Pancake - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Columbus, Georgia

I was in town for the weekend for a date with an old friend and she booked a reservation on July 17th for her birthday brunch. Things were a little busy and the hostess asked us if we were okay with sitting outside and unfortunately we accepted, it was really hot but that's not the restaurant fault. There were only two servers working outside, and there were two other tables. It took the servers over maybe ten minutes to decide which one of them was gonna serve us. What happened was one of them completely ignored that we had been seated - like he looked in our general direction, shook his head a little and went back to what we were doing, the other server reluctantly took our table, which was very kind of him. I ordered sausage patties, eggs and hashbrowns. The hashbrowns had no flavor to them at all, but the eggs and sausage weren't that bad. I know there's a worker shortage across the board and it may have been a little busy but based off of the neglect one of the servers showed us I wouldn't recommend this place at all - there needs to be some sort of communication from the hostess and servers on who's gonna serve who. read more

Good food good and friendly service, the restaurant is big with plenty of setting. I definitely recommend.

Place was recommended to myself and my co worker. Great service even when busy seems to be minimal wait time. I had the biscuits and gravy and was absolutely amazing. Coworker had the steak bowl and he said it was amazing. It does get packed inside but still plenty of room with outside seating available. Definitely gives you the country style breakfast vibes and old diner feel. Reasonably priced food for what you get as well. Highly recommend this place if you haven't been. read more

We have been here a few times now, the food is generally well made and proportions are large so I always have enough leftovers to take home for later or the next day. However, this seems to not be the cleanest of places to eat, more than once now we have had issues with crusty or dirty silverware or cups, the first time I had coffee here it tasted like it was brewed with soured dirty dish rag water it was horrible. This last time, after a taste of my husband's coffee, I thought ok it must have been a fluke because it tasted like coffee should but low and behold about halfway into my cup I see the filth that has been left, it's as if they just rinse the cups and reuse instead of actually washing If you go I would advise getting any drinks in to-go cups and check your other utensils and such *** the clean spots in these cups (circled on both mine and my husband's) was after I gently rubbed my thumb on the cup to see if it was dirty grime or just a permanent stain... it was grime read more

I've been several times in the past, and pre-covid, Metro Diner was reliably decent. Well, evidently, those days are over. I went a few years ago (2021) and a few people in my party wanted biscuits (part of what they were ordering). The response? "We're out of biscuits." (What?!?) Fast forward to last week. Went with a group of 10 or so. Our server brought the orders out one or two at a time, several minutes in between, which was awkward. I kept waiting, waiting, waiting for my food. The last time the server told me mine was "almost ready" I said, "you know what, everyone else is almost done, I don't have time to eat." She nodded with relief and walked away. Instead of offering it on the house, or even just to go, I just sat and waited as everyone else finished and she didn't say another word to me. We were there about another 30 minutes!! Nice job, Metro Diner. Bad experience for all of us, but especially me. I won't be back. read more

Service was excellent and we were very well taken care of by our server Hanna. Food was amazing as well.

Shrimp and grits had creamy grits in a nice fried cake form albeit deep fried. Nice touch. But sausage and shrimp not grilled, just bland sautéed--not thought out well. Sauce was creamy and fairly decent. Overall for price it was not really worth the higher cost. Overall place is clean, it's very busy, wait staff is ok but very busy and just go through the motions. If you need something, gotta snag one on the fly. Attentiveness is not their forte. No chefs here, but capable cooks like Olive Garden, Outback, ect. Somewhat over priced for quality and experience, but expected for a hyped chain. Better than many, but not exceptional. Busy hustle is a hassle though. read more

FOH and BOH needs improvement. One of the two or both. I also work in the industry Bartend, BOH, FOH, and Store Management.

We were sat down took 20 minutes for a server to come. We ordered, black coffee, HOT tea, omelet, & eggs Benedict......water for tea was cold, omelet came out the size of a piece of toast. Eggs Benedict came out with RAW BACON, HARD EGGS. Service was horrible, food was horrible. So we left without eating because our waitress never showed back up to correct our order. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME or MONEY!!!! read more

Good diner food. People are friendly and service was great. New to the area and so far a great experience.

In Columbus for work and found the Metro Diner on Yelp. Walked in a seated quickly. The place is clean and spacious. Our food was excellent. The chicken and waffles were exceptional, biscuits and gravy were spot on. Our server Emily S. Really made for a great experience. She even mixed the syrups and hot sauce to create a fantastic sweet and spicy sauce for the chicken. Great food and even better service. read more

The chicken and waffles were top-notch. I ate here with the family yesterday evening, and the entire family enjoyed our meals. The portions were generous and the quality of the food was very good. My oldest had a burger, my youngest had the chicken tender dinner meal, and I had the fish and chips. Next visit, I look forward to the chicken fried steak breakfast. It looked like it would be a winner also. The menu has a lot of offerings and has enough variety to have something to offer regardless of your dietary preferences. read more

Best thing that has ever been here in Columbus! The food and atmosphere are awesome! Everything you could ever want from a diner is all right here. read more

Reading the reviews and looking at the pictures, I was pretty excited to try the chicken and waffles. I arrived first thing in the morning after placing an order over the phone. As reflected in the picture the chicken was fried in old grease and was a second away from being burnt. I don't understand how this could happen at the beginning of the day, however I already arrived home by the time i noticed the chicken. The waffle was nice and fluffy, one of the reasons the review has two stars instead of one or less. read more

Updated- went at 1000 on Sunday, we ordered a Philly cheese steak with fries, and fried chicken with fries. the service was amazing. Our waitress was phenomenal and the food was soooooo much better!!! Don't know if they changed the cook or what- but this is one of my new spots to go on the weekend! went thursday around 430 PM, ordered-chicken (overcooked), fries (soggy,) and biscuits(hard) with gravy. The gravy was good. only reason its not 1 star, due to how nice the manager was and the servers read more

We were in Destin for the weekend and decided to walk across the street and see what was going on at Metro Diner. Their parking lot was full and we had to see for ourselves. This is a really cute diner and the wait staff is outstanding! We were there for breakfast and ordered a western omelette and 2 egg breakfasts. Everything was pretty good although the pan fried potatoes were a tad overcooked. I look forward to returning for a lunch meal! read more

I was so excited to come here. This place was packed (went there on Saturday around 10am) I think I was expecting too much or something since this place is very popular, I thought the food was gonna be really good. It took looooong time to get our food (well since they were busy I was kinda expecting that tho) we ordered shrimp and grits (it wasn't the best. It was ok.. for some reasons some part was cold like shrimp??? Not sure why but I got kinda nausea when I was eating so I stopped eating :-( Waffle and chicken (chicken didn't have much taste but waffle was good) read more

Wow!! This place is perfect!! Breakfast (plus other stuff) all day and the food is fantastic. Better than the food, however, is the service. Ask for Tiffany! I was visiting my son who is In the army in fort Bragg. Let me say there is not much in this part of town. But we love to eat and leave it to me to find a place. The food was excellent. One of my kids had chicken and waffles he said the food was so good and the chicken was washed lol. My soldier son had eggs grits which he ate on bread and he had an order of cinnamon pancakes which were very very good and not sweet just good. I had grits with cheese which was really creamy and buttery. If your in that area they shouldn't disappoint. read more

Utterly disappointing. We were seated (2 people) and waited an hour for nothing. The staff were friendly, but we had to ask for the check and still had no food. Other groups (6+) came in after us had food and were eating; still no food for us. We only ordered a burger and one other item. read more
