Service is great. Food was ready very quickly even with a few orders in front of me. Good place for a quick bacon egg and cheese on a bagel.

It's not that bed stuy lacks good bagels. It's that it lacks good bagel shops. Many of them are…read moresardine-tin-sized pick-up-and-go joints. Most of the time, fine. But Miss Bagel delivers in more ways than one. Decently-sized shop, friendly people, and everything tastes fresh. What's really impressive is the creativity. The Xian Famous Bagel is inspired - the combo of chili oil, scallion cream cheese, egg, and hashbrown is *chef's kiss*. Exactly what you want in a breakfast sandwich. And the bagels pack that classic, Brooklyn fluff. (Could maybe use a touch more seasoning on the everything.) But they also offer delicious non-bagel sandwiches - which pleasantly surprised me. I got the sunset park chicken cutlet hero. The bread is nice and springy, the schnitzel has a great crunch, beautifully sliced onions/lettuce, and the sandwich was still warm after a long walk home. Versatility and quality. That's what makes Miss Bagel special. The purveyor of all genres of hangover cures. Oh, and the babka SLAPS - chocolate bomb of deliciousness. My one suggestion to the team: more vegan options! At the very least, gotta add hummus as a spread.

Ordering online doesn't help either: multiple times we've arrived after the stated pickup window only to find they haven't even started our order. They're also frequently out of items we already ordered. Most recently, they told me they were out of everything bagels--even as I pointed out an everything bagel sitting there. Today was the last straw. I waited in line for about five minutes without a single order being taken. The guy ahead of me and I both eventually walked out. The shop was mostly people standing around waiting for food, with barely anyone actually eating. The food may be worth a short wait, but not this level of unpredictability.

You can find this location of Brooklyn Bagel at 286 8th Ave, New York, NY 10001 in Chelsea. As with…read moreother eateries in NYC, probably best to walk to this location and forgo looking for the near non-existent parking. I was looking for a breakfast spot close to my hotel near 7th Ave and found a couple of contenders on 8th Ave - I decided to hit Brooklyn Bagel as it showed more reviews. We have Brooklyn Bagel in Atlanta so I'm familiar with the chain - most Atlanta bagels are sub-par, something about the horrible Atlanta water. I figured it was time to sample a location in NYC. This location is fairly old-school, directly on 8th Ave between W 24th and W25th streets. Coming in there was a line but it moved quickly - you go to the back of the shop, call out what you want and move towards the register to pay. I think it took about 7 minutes to get the BKbagel Classic - - smoked Nova salmon, scallion cream cheese, onion, tomato & capers. I asked for it on a toasted everything and it was everything I thought it would be - perfect bite. Service was great, no nonsense but friendly. I sat at one of the long wall counters and wolfed down my sandwich with a cup of Joe. No complaints here.

This location is loud and energetic when you walk in. Seemingly want to pumped up about buying some bagels haha. The staff was very helpful because we weren't sure what we wanted, but they helped walk us through some options and eventually settled on the classic NY bagel. Cream cheese, salmon, and capers, etc. on the soft, delicious bagel. Also got a blueberry muffin for the kids and they loved that! All in all great experience. I'd drop it down to 4.5 stars just because the loud setting is not really my vibe, but everything else was great!
